Studying Physics at Southampton University has been fantastic. The campus facilities are excellent, and the Students Union is really supportive. There's a wide range of clubs and societies to get involved in, and the career support is reliable. Southampton University offers a great environment for studying and enjoying student life.

Sorry have been taking online courses all the time and have little chance to hang around campus but the student service team are always warm to help.

The University of Southampton is a beautiful university, and the teachers here are very responsible. There is a rich collection of libraries and data banks.
The education supporting team of University of Southampton can give students sufficient support to meet the related needs!
The uni has done its best to try keep within the new standards of education whether this be limiting face to face classes and moving them online however they have done okay with performing this

I did my PhD in here, I am sure you wouldn't like it. In the end, also they gave you a very vague degree which says xxx awarded doctor of philosophy. When one asks for a more precise degree, they just try to ignore it. Also, the supervisory team is not good.

It has beautiful environment and the school has great facilities. The school can help you with any problems you may have in studying or living. The professors are very patient and are willing to answer students' academic questions.

Unfortunately due to the epidemic, there was not a lot of access to campus facilities, but the few offline lessons were a good experience.
All good here. The only thing is, student union sucks
TODAY my radiator didn't work, and the staff helps me quickly and changed another one. It's really nice to have such high speed service.😃

I am studying at the Business School of the University of Southampton. During my study here, the school can provide sufficient teaching resources, and the course arrangement is reasonable and professional.
I have only been to campus twice due to the pandemic, so I give four stars to most of the categories. But the student union is trying to help us international student get a tuition fee discount. So I give five stars.
Great environment for studying, and quite useful courses that enhance my skill for helping my further career. Overall, it was a tough year for me but I also thankful that what did I learn from this university.
I like the service of my university. When I came to UK the university arrange a taxi to pick from London and took me to the accommodation safely.

The university of Southampton is great in many aspects for students. There are lots of opportunities and successful academic staff. My only complaint is not having an office as a PhD student, but I think this is an exception for my department (WSA) Normally you have an office if you are a PhD student here. I think uni of Southampton is one of the best universities to be a researcher.
I haven’t experienced Any of thee due to Covid so I can’t comment.
I really enjoy my course and the university staff are great. We have access to a lot of top equipment (when the university is open) and there are lots of nice places to sit and study. We also have access to a lot of support in terms of money and mental health, which has been very important this year for a lot of people.
All of these are very good!!!

I am a student at the University of Southampton. The University is not bad, but some professors speak English with very strong accents, these accents cannot be understood by me. (Kind of European, and Chinese accents) But we have many professors who speak in an English accent which is good and I can understand them well.
Great university and a nice city to live in overall. Facilities are nice and the courses are brilliant.
I have recently moved to Cumberland Place and I recommend anyone to move in here as it is in the midst convenient location, has good facilities and building staff are very kind and helpful.
Great university... great facilities for Economics and Finance students including Bloomberg Terminal which a lot of other universities do not have.
Really friendly university. Campus looks lovely in all the seasons and there are plenty of places to study, catch up with friends, etc. Sports facilities are also great. You'll at home here.
If you are a Computer Scientist, you will love all the perks and facilities that are available for you. This Uni really offers you more than you can use.
As a PhD student, university of Southampton has provided safety facilities and enough resource for my research.

I just competed my final year and I am so happy. I would never want to attend this university again neither would recommend it to any. If you are black you will struggle, lecturers will make things difficult for you. You have to work twice as hard and you are not well supported. I was depressed all throughout, I don,t know how I managed. Without saying much it is the worst university ever. I feel they should investigate them for how the treat black students, having them repeat years for silly reason, you you mark down even if your work is 100 %. The way you are spoken to will have you feel less than a human being. I wish the BBC would investigate them. Southampton within itself itself is a crack den, what would one expect from the uni anyways.
Teaching is not great here. Very respectable lecturers with great academic merit, however, they simply cannot teach effectively. Large class size with a lot of international students which suggests that the university care greatly about money and not as much the teaching. This is a shame as the facilities are excellent. Great large campus with modern buildings, available for some courses such as electronics and computer science. Friendly people but the structure of the university doesn't put much attention to undergraduate students. At the end of the day, you just have to survive your time here and get to the end because employers see this as a very respected university.
Modules do not provide personal tutorials as you re struggling with that.
Many interest things in the university
It is extremely hard to make friendship in here. Really hard. I do not feel this is an inclusive learning environment helps me to grow my learning experience in an international learning setting. You will feel too lonely in this campus. SUSU - Southampton University Student Union does not help. SUSU slogan to unlock the potential of every student is fake and not real, in accordance with my experience. Prejudice exist, sadly :(( SUSU does not help me to unlock my full potential; you can feel the conscious bias. I am very disappointed by the University of Southampton (despite it's reputation) because there are is a segregation. Also, teach your self - I learnt from YouTube and Online Lectures better than most lectures :((

I studied at Winchester school of arts, I did Masters, and I would NOT recommend anyone to do an MA here especially if u are a home student, it was a waste of time and money and had a terrible student experience, I felt treated as just a number and the course had no standard at all, just about anyone can apply and as long as they are paying the university didn't care. The facilities are there, its just a shame that the senior staff are pathetic, unprofessional and bias. Even after complaints from students the university did nothing. There were no scocity or chance to socialise and didn't have university feel like you would get at highfield campus.

University of southampton is great if you want a proper campus feel. Level of teaching is hit and miss.. there are great lecturer's, however, there are also lecturer's who are not so great.
I’m almost at the end of an Mres Microbiology degree at Southampton, it’s been the biggest mistake I’ve made to come here. It’s pretty clear my supervisors made up my masters research project on the spot and hardly researched it so there’s a huge mistake in the theory behind it that I’ve had to work around. Teaching is poor quality, I once had to explain to a lecturer the theory behind a diagram she had up because she forgot how it worked in front of the class. I eventually stopped going to lectures in my second term and still managed to get a first for every bit of coursework. I’ve had no support with my lab work, the postgrads are helpful but my supervisors have completely given up and left me to save the project for myself. It’s been an absolute joke to try and accomplish such a demanding project with such little help and support, I’ve been on my own in the lab since day 1. Very glad it’s almost over. Please if you’re thinking of pursuing environmental microbiology, stay well away!
The campus is very green and has fantastic student facilities. The clubs and societies are very varied and friendly, but suffer from the fact that new members can only really be gained immediately after a bunfight, and then mostly from 1st years (they need more campus and online presence, is what I'm saying). The Students Union is always friendly and approachable and has a very large media presence. The WiFi is acceptable across campus.

The university isn't "bad". But something is amiss. They claim to be supportive but a few students have actually committed suicide in recent years. If you aren't middle class you will feel very out of place. Even more so if you commute. It has been the worst time of my entire life. Seriously. Grades seem to be almost random and I am CONVINCED that assignments are not anonymously marked. The student office has let me down 90% of the time and nobody seems to know what they're doing, and although they claim to be in favour of free speech, they have an extremely left wing agenda. Judgemental and intolerant socialists everywhere. Never in my life have I felt so out of place. Some modules will recycle last years material, and then you have to work out what is and what isn't related to the assignments. One module even had old essay questions that we weren't supposed to do from last year still being handed out... embarrassing. The librarians have always been very helpful however.
Being on the Winchester campus, there are no societies or clubs barley so have to travel to southampton.
I’m two years into my graphic design course at WSA and I can sadly say it’s the biggest mistake I’ve ever made and paid for. Where do I begin? Paying for everything eg trips, stationery (glue , scissors printing etc), the extremely rude and negative staff and lecturers, being patronised and made to feel like a school student, the “lecturers” being late, the extremely useless and unrelated workshops or the tiny amount we’re in out of the year. I am so disappointed and let down how it has been nothing like I was told it would be at the first open day. Fast forward me too this time next year when I’m done with the place. Did I say it’s not worth a penny out of the £9250? P.S only in one day a week at the moment - tell me what I’m paying for! Disgraceful
It was an amazing experience as it was the first time i had lived away from my family. I learned so much not only in uni but out of it too about home management and organisation.
The University of Southampton was one of the worst experiences of my life. During my time there, the stress of lectures (with very poor teaching), keeping up with course work and the horrible and very boring city caused my mental health to rapidly decline. Despite me telling staff multiple times, at no point did any one reach out to me or try and help my situation. I told the university multiple times that I was experiencing a mental health crisis but not one seemed to care. Nightlife in Southampton is good but to be honest that's all that's good about the city! It quickly becomes boring with nothing to do, other than study or get drunk. The university itself is very dull with poor teaching and support. The students union is only open for social events during freshers, and then closes for the rest of the year (so is awful, basically). If you are a high achiever like I was then you're probably considering studying at Southampton - I am telling you that you deserve so much more.
Great facilities, food is a bit pricey but there’s a massive selection, the SU bar is cool and the club can be sick if you go on a good night
Just finished my first year, absolutely love it here! The campus is gorgeous, nightlife is really good and as long as you attend your lectures and work hard you'll do really well. The facilities are really good too with a massive library. The city is in a good location with Winchester, Bournemouth and the new forest very close. It also is big enough for students to find a part time job alongside uni, which I have. Some people say that it is a high crime area, but I've never personally experienced any problems, crime rate is around the same as other cities. I've heard of stealing from student homes but generally if you are cautious you should be OK! Love it here and would definitely recommend.
I regret coming to soton , especially for podiatry. Most lecturers are good but some will look at you as if you are inferior to them and treat you differently. I have also seen forms or prejudice in terms of race, this can be observed from feedback on coursework (we are student who talk with one another, just like lecturers talk to one another). I have managed to get a job after studying here but this is probably due to demand rather the quality of education provided by the team. I really doubt coursework are assessed anonymously, I can actually guarantee this. If you are of a certain ethnicity then you will have some form of privilege, if this is what you wish to be accredited then this university for you. Some placement are awful and do not give you hands on experience, but they do not care, hence your marks are based on luck.
Decent uni with a good union and lecturers who adapt based upon feedback from Students. Good city to live in with the highlight being the notorious Jesters nightclub.
I worked for 10 years at Southampton University PhD and several Fellowships/Postdocs: I just waste my time! Staff is unprofessional, low quality of teaching, lectures are focus to catch money but they don't care about students. Some young lectures enjoy to bully students or push students to catch other money. Many grants are from charities so please avoid to donate the money is wasted. There is no career at all, except for people that had already someone in the University as father, mother, sisters or relatives. i-solutions are horrible and not helpful. I am very happy that to be out from the system: Please avoid this place!!!!
Buzzing campus with lots of great facilities such as the library, students union and sports centre. Also the university has great bus links with the bus interchange in the middle of the Highfield campus.
