Find the award-winning university careers services in the UK according to authentic student reviews.

We are excited to announce the top 20 university career teams, who have all gone the extra mile in ensuring students are employability-ready when they graduate.

What is a careers or employability service?

Every university in the UK has a team of staff who focus on equipping students with soft skills, interview experience and CV workshops. This can be called different things depending on the focus, but include careers, employability or student enterprise service. These teams offer work experience opportunities, graduate job listings and general careers advice for university students and graduates. Not only do they support students while at university, many careers teams will also support their students for a couple of years after graduation, providing support for alumni.

Careers and employability teams are key in ensuring students leave university confidently, entering the job market successfully.

Our top 20 winners have provided excellent careers services to their students, for example, UCL (#10) hosts regular careers fairs and Ulster University (#4) uses an accessible online platform called Handshake to display job listings.

How is this top 20 university employability award decided?

To calculate this key higher education league table, we analysed 24,041 authentic student reviews written on StudentCrowd between June 2021 and May 2023. When students review their university, they give it a rating out of 5 stars for ‘Careers Service’. We used this rating across all universities in the UK to showcase the BEST 20 according to students.

The StudentCrowd Awards 2023 is the only university ranking based 100% on verified students in the UK, using their ac.uk email address. This includes international students who attend UK universities.
