I could not ask for a better accomodation. The location is absolutely the best, I think the best in the entire uni. It's close to the bus stations, close to nearby stores and close to both Park Eats and close enough to the main buildings (Palmer, the Library etc.) I made some of my closest friends here, never had an issue with Wi-Fi either. I'd say my biggest gripes are firstly the mandatory meal plan. I don't mind it, but we are forced to take the most expensive one. If there was an option to go for a cheaper meal plan, that would be idea. Furthermore, the kitchen is quite small. I am aware this is because of the mandatory meal plan, however the fridge is very small which makes it hard to store things, as there are 8 people here that all have to use a mini fridge and small freezer. The cleaning is fine, the cleaners do a good job, however since the flooring is carpets, any liquid stains can be a nightmare to get out. Overall, solid 8/10 accom. read more

Hi,
Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it here at Reading!

We’re delighted to hear you’ve had such a positive experience overall — especially that the location worked so well for you and that you made close friendships during your stay. It’s great to know you had no issues with Wi-Fi and that our cleaners helped maintain the space.

We appreciate your comments about the meal plan, kitchen size, and fridge capacity — as one of our catered halls, the cost of the meal plan is included in the rent, and therefore unfortunately cannot be removed. A kitchenette is provided to allow residents to prepare smaller meals or snacks.

If you would like to discuss further or share more detailed feedback, please do reach out on accommodationonline@reading.ac.uk or 0118 200 5011.

Kind Regards, The Reading Accommodation Team

My overall experience was quite good. The room is a great size. The facilities are great and its close to campus. The only downside was the noise. The building was old so everything could be heard through your food and as it is at a campus entrance there's a lot of movement and noise until late hours on union nights. Dunsden crescent is great for night socialites but I found it a little difficult as student trying sleep earlier and just study. read more
