After staying 1 year at Derwent Hall, I can say that the accommodation is amazing value for money. The kitchen and bedrooms are very spacious and the facilities there are great for up to 6 people. Inside the each bedroom is a wide table, plenty of storage space, and even a sink. There isn't a designated social space but the kitchen's size and large dining table makes itself a suitable social space. There are 2 bathrooms for 6 people which is convenient. The place looks simple and clean and it's in campus, not too far from the library and the Preston City Centre. The maintenance team were also great while I was there responding quickly to problems when they occurred.

Sometimes at the weekend, there was no hot water in the bathroom. means can't take a shower.
It's a nice hall with beautiful price. The only problem I am not really happy about is some of my roommates were really rude.
No social space. Not good value for money.
This is a great hall to live in! Pretty close to campus buildings and dining areas.
great place for first years to live considering the price. Only wish there was more of a social space in the flat that wasn’t just the kitchen but it was a great place to live.
Honestly, in hindsight, I regret choosing this Hall. My Flatmates were fine but the hall itself was dirty and hardly got cleaned by the staff, by the end of the year our kitchen table's legs were coming off of the floor from being badly glued there and the Accommodation Staff were condescending and treated us like kids. As in if you keep the kitchen table "untidy" they will register it as "Dirty". Granted, we weren't the best with doing our washing up at times, but we did do it and didn't need the constant threat of warnings and fines. The only upside for me and my flatmates was that it was less than a five-minute walk to our main building for lectures because most of us were in the same area of study.
Terrible, tiny, stuffy rooms. ALWAYS too hot in the rooms. Myself and others living there’s woke up absolutely sweating. Don’t expect to shower or sleep properly here if you’re 6ft+. I could go on for hours. Just don’t go here trying to save money.
Close to various school buildings, very stable and fast wi-fi. I think it's decent.
Very hands off management alright wifi and v close to the library (which if I'm honest is the place I spent more time) a cheap place to begin but I wouldn't spend more than a year here unless absolutely necessary
There's no living area only the kitchen which isn't ideal
We made the most of what we had and had a great first year in halls. However, the rooms had a bad musty smell because of the rusting pipes. Other than this it was probably the best year of my life here, we made the most of what we had.
Practically no one lived here, poor value for money, was like living at my gran's house! Spent most of my time at IQ or Roeburn.
