DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The lack of support for the students staying here is disgusting (particularly during covid) they threaten us with legal action and interest fees and it’s all lies. Not to mention how overpriced this accommodation is. If you’re expecting a welcoming, supportive environment from the staff at this accommodation, you’re not going to find it.
Reasonable price, good location and very nice staff !
Do not stay at this property. Absolutely no compensation been put in place in regards to rent payments and the COVID-19 lockdown, despite every other private accommodation provider and the university owned accommodation reducing rent payment/ fully refunding students whilst they are legally unable to travel back to the property. Absolutely disgusting treatment of tenants and would not recommend to anyone in the future.
The glasshouse have been treating us student appallingly during the pandemic. No support for students isolating with covid and further more making us continue to pay thousands in rent when we can legally not return due to a national lockdown. NTU are telling students in uni owned accommodation they do not have to pay, so why do we? The treatment is awful, us students only being used as a money bank during a global pandemic is appalling.
The glasshouse have completely ignored their tenants during the coronavirus pandemic. Despite being told by government to categorically NOT return to our unis and accommodation unless if doing certain courses, we have been told to return despite this government ruling.
I would highly recommend the glasshouse to incoming students. The location and value for money were my main reasons for choosing this accommodation. My experience with the glasshouse staff has also been excellent. In particular Ollie, who is always welcoming and helpful. As well as Yousef (maintenance/handy man) who is very quick and efficient. I hope you enjoy your stay here too!

Thank you for your lovely comments, which are really appreciated. We are always happy to assist where possible.
Lovely staff, decent sized rooms, well equipped kitchen and communal areas. My only complaint is that the bathrooms are very small.

Thank you for your lovely review. We take on board your comment in relation to the bathrooms.
Maintenance guys are always quick to resolve any issues you may have

Thank you for the positive comment in relation to our maintenance team. We'll be sure to pass this on. Enjoy your stay.
The best uni accom I’ve lived in. Staff are brilliant and the facilities are clean and modern. Great location, not far from uni and shops etc

Thank you for taking time to leave your lovely comments.
Fab location right in the centre of town and close to Nottingham Trent Univeristy

Thank you for your review - you really couldn't be closer to all the action. Great location.
Really enjoyed my stay, staff were extremely helpful, would definitely stay here again

Thank you for taking time out to leave your kind words.

Thank you for your lovely comment. We are pleased your first impression and experieince were positive. We strive to offer an excellent customer and student experieince. Enjoy your stay at The Glasshouse and remember we are here to help at all times.
Not a terrible experience, however there are many improvements to be made. The staff are lovely, very welcoming and warm, the security is good and I felt safe in this accoms. Laundry room is good and noone really gives too much fuss if you're on a late night out, depends on your flatmates really. Location is great. However... the only social space is the property office, which is a few sofas - not much. They don't clean 'communal areas', the wifi isn't great, only when there aren't many people around (ie. holidays - which is a bit useless). It's nice to live with other NTU students, however it's not the place to live if you like peace and quiet all the time. Not a good value for money - there's a reason you won't find pictures of the bathrooms on their website- they are tiny! Basically a cubicle pod, which we have to clean ourselves. For the amount they charge, you'd think they would at least clean the bathrooms or at least provide basic necessities such as a hoover, a mop?!
The location is amazing if you're studying at NTU City campus or just enjoy Nottingham nightt life.
Overall glasshouse accommodation is great for the students studying either in the city campus or Clifton campus, it is close to the stores and to the city centre as well. In contrary, showers are really small.
Lovely staff, especially Caroline and Lauren. Great location. Great for students
No cleaners for the flats unlike other accommodation however this is one of the only accommodations in city with a double bed, definitely pick here over Gill St or Byron!
Pros: the location is amazing, 10 min to uni, 5 min to the Vic centre and 1 min to Aldi. The rooms are pretty clean and fresh with a nice modern design, plenty of space and lots of plugs. Modern hob, oven, fridge and microwave that haven't broken once since we've been here. They even refund you for your TV licence for the shared living area/kitchen. Staff are responsive too. Cons: still don't know how to work the storage heaters. The windows don't open past the wall. The blinds are 10ft off the wall so you're always awake at the crack of dawn. It is SO noisy, the walls are paper thin and the noise from outside is insanely loud, and we were on the 6th floor! I had to get earplugs. Security are useless, like REALLY useless. Barely speak English and they're so timid. They have policies but they don't do much if people breach them which causes stress and misery. Laundry facilities are expensive. It's also in a really bad part of town. Overall: okay for 9 months but I wouldn't book again.
The people that run the place are worse than Jahovas Witness’, never leave you alone. Also try to scam you out of money. And never respond efficiently to serious matters.
Great location and value for money but can and will at times really annoy you
Very cheap option compared to uni halls, it’s close to everything and has large rooms. You get a double bed and large desk space, with plenty of plug spaces. The only things that are negative are the washing machines and security.
Very friendly staff , and hard working. Very good location . Hall ways are clean . Any problems maintenance always get round to fixing them .The rooms are a good size with good views over Nottingham .Downsides is the price of the washing facilities are very expensive , the lifts breaks down frequently . The bathroom sizes are very small .there is no common room and socialising is very spread out . Other than that very good value for money and you’ll have a nice experience.
Couldn’t recommend enough and such a good value for money
Decent accommodation but because there’s such a mix of students, it ruins the freshers experience. Management also seem lazy and they don’t clean much
Would not recommend for students. i'm now a third year living here and cant wait to leave and never return. Very poor wifi, turns of every 15 minutes. No common room for students to interact like any other student accommodation. Water always turns of resulting in cold water continuously. Not to mention the washing area, the price is ridiculously high, with machines either broken or take to much money. Considering we are third year students we haven't received any discounts. Within our flat we easily have a maintenance worker every week sorting some sort of issue out within the flat with it being something broken or hanging of. Considered the price, you are not supplied with the basics such as a kettle or toaster. Within smaller flats the equipment is bare minimum with the oven combined with a microwave with only 2 hobs! Not value for money in my opinion at all!
Cheap and simple but with lots of space! Sharing toliets could be improved
Really clean and polite facilities
The WiFi isnt great. You can only get near 70mb if your are wired. And then you have to get lucky to get a room with working ethernet ports, as they don't repair them. And it drops out a bit. Also the washers always break and mess up your clothes, leaving them soaked and with nothing you can do. Also the price of this terrible service keeps going up and up. And when you speak to the office they tell you to call the company that runs them, and take no responsibility for it. Or social area is a myth, it's the office, with 2 sofa's. Never seen a person sitting in there.
Possibly hr worst experience living here, mainly down to the fact my flat is above planet bounce so there is constant music booming through the ceiling throughout the day, the extractor fan for the bathrooms run through my room so there is a constant fan sound, the pipes for the bathroom run through my room which constantly leak, walls are paper thin, the 'bathroom' is disgusting it's the size of an aeroplane toilet for 7 people which is a full on joke, when I arrived there was no blind and the blind have given darkness whatsoever, doors slam, not enough wardrobe space, staff usually unhelpful apart from security which have been amazing and the only pro is the location which is right in the city centre and an Aldi is a 30 second walk away. Definitely not worth the £108.. should be £90 max for the tiny bathroom and the fact I lie above planet bounce
Pros: Great location for shopping, uni etc, decent sized bedrooms & kitchen and helpful security guards Cons: Walls are super thin so can hear everything including flat next door, tiny bathrooms, expensive washing machines (compared to other halls) and they break regularly, ‘quiet time’ at night is useless and there are no recycling bins!! So much waste
Hall management/Office staff = useless & unhelpful Cleaning = Poor - stick that many students in one place and chaos, this should be taken into account - MORE bins , provide recycling bins for glass at least!!! the walls are paper thin = having to listen to the resident of the next flat on the phone/ having sex ( or both) is NOT fun!!! WHAT SOCIAL SPACES??? where the office is that is deemed social space and that closes at 6.30 WHOOP. Wifi = SLOW Safety = RUBBISH PLEASE ensure that when you 1st move in take photos on EVERYTHING - the smallest mark, as they will try and charge you for it when you move out (SCAMMMERS) fire safety = RUBBISH no extinguishers doors slam
The internet breaks far too regularly
Great location, right in the heart of the city - aldi is downstairs and tesco a short walk away and pretty close to NTU too. Rooms are massive compared to others but the bathroom is literally the same size as an airplane toilet so beware. Kitchen I had was a good size and had everything I needed, TV is an added bonus. Management were always polite and friendly, always willing to help - any maintenance problems were solved within 2/3 days after emailing them. Courtyard ect was always nice and clean, also the security men were always super nice and chatty as well as making the whole area feel safe. Would highly recommend them.
The Glasshouse is the biggest fake ever. You will have no services, high fees, the walls are transparent, you can hear everyone, and your door is not a real door (you can see outside). I do recommend this accommodation for hobos, not for students.
The people are excessively loud and refuse to keep the volume down (even at 3 am) and then they complain at other people for trivial things. flatmates are messy as well and there is always rubbish in the kitchen. The ensuite bathrooms flood regularly. The WiFi breaks periodically. The windows don't open properly. There is no recycling. The keyfob broke on the first day. The rooms have very thin walls and doors so you can hear everything.
Rooms are good size, only problem is the staff, they are un helpful and generally don't seem to care about any issues you have
Great value for money. The place to stay if you want to live right in the heart of the City. Social experience is standout, the more people you stay with the better it will be
Good value for money and great location!
The bedrooms at the glasshouse are so big compared to the uni halls
It's all amazing at glasshouse but the bathrooms are abit small! For what you pay for but the rooms are massive compared to what actual uni halls are like!
Great atmosphere with really friendly staff.
