Third, beware of the rankings, especially QS and FT. My cousin was attracted to Edinburgh because of these two ranked the program so high. It was revealed later that the University pays a lot of money (paid by your ridiculously high tuition fees) to ensure they are on very top of the ranking, despite very low-quality lecturers. I looked at profiles of the teaching staff and wonder how the program full of people from low-grade universities in Europe makes it to the top 10 universities in the subject. In fact, the profiles of my teachers in my country (a 3-world country) look much better than here. And why teaching staff here are so lousy? It was simply that they teaching staff here are considered low-grade job. They value research staff. Especially, Science and Engineering people look down at other subjects, especially Business. Business subjects are considered making-money subject and are the worst.

The location is great but we've had issues with mold in our flat, even in the rooms that have been kept clean. I know that other flats have had similar issues. Otherwise it's good!
