Very good for money. Good for space for a flat but no overall social space other than a small common room
William Morris provided a comfortable and up kept space for me to live in the first year of University. The general consensus is a very social hall, however there are a few instances where the social life could be more involving of those living there.
It honestly felt more like a kid in a boarding school than feeling like an adult studying for a degree. Restrictions or not, that's my review for the year; no sympathy
Excellent value for money and room was much bigger than expected

Wasnt here for most of the year do wouldn't give a good review, ask someone else
Great option to have for freshers. In normal circumstances, here would have been a great place for Freshers, a community vibe about the place makes it good. Slightly off-campus, so not so great for Holywell/west park, but relatively central so caters for many courses. WiFi can be hit and miss (although I think this depends on blocks). Very well run, parcel delivery is ideal and never had any problems. Kitchen and bedrooms are all kitted out, although fridge space can sometimes be an issue depending on how many you share with.
The location is the biggest benefit - it's across the road from Union and a 15-20 mins walk to town. I had a friend who lived here in first year and saw that their rooms were a good size and relatively nice. Is it worth the money though? I would say no. My friends and I were moved to a 3-bed block which although convenient, meant that we were put in a much older building so the bathroom was outdated and honestly quite disgusting. The only pros were that they could accommodate smaller groups of students and the kitchen was big. The common rooms and study spaces were good too but I personally did not use them. In comparison to the newer Bill Mo buildings, this was really not worth the £6k I paid. On top of that, they decided to fix up the blocks from April all the way to the middle of June. Bearing in mind I was in my final year, imagine writing your dissertation and studying for essays while people are drilling and hammering and wondering around the flat... Just live in Bakewell.
Great accommodation - better than I expected for the price. Very sociable on the whole, however, there is no pressure to join in with events if you'd prefer not to. Located a few minutes walk away from campus, less than 5 minutes to the students union, 10 minutes or less to most lecture halls (depending on school/course), 15 minute walk to the library. Managed very well with a reception desk to collect parcels/mail from and deal with any issues, cleaning was always excellent. Never had any issues with wifi.
Halls was very much standard, it was 5 minutes from university and 20 minutes from town.
Very socially active hall, had a great year there

We are very happy to hear you have has such a positive experience in your hall. - Emily
everyones loud as f*** and the walls are paper thin so take what you will from that

good location, close to student union
Like the rest of the university - full of jocks.
I stayed in William Morris halls in my first and fourth year at lboro uni. In first year I stayed in non en-suite flats with 7 people. Although it was a little crowded in the kitchen area at times, I made friends for life and really got involved in events. Final year, I am staying in somerton house with 10 other people. The house is excellent in terms of room size, amount of bathrooms and lounge area (needs a bigger kitchen). William Morris dance studio and student space is amazing, I go weekly for a break from my work without wasting any time. It is a 1 minute walk to the union, 3 minutes to the swimming pool and 8 minutes to gym classes at Sir David Wallace or Powerbase gym. 10 minutes to the school of the arts. Highly recommend for anyone based on this half of campus. Although it is classed as off campus, it is the closest to the union by far.

Thank you for this amazing review! Tendo
It is really near the Union and whilst I don't drink or enjoy going out, I have never been pressured and there is a Welfare Rep on the Committee who offers sober events like film nights and Bake Offs that I enjoy.

We're glad that you found something for you! Tendo
William Morris was a fantastic hall of residence. Whilst it is described as 'off campus' it is the closest hall to the students union, making it the most accessible to town and campus. The newly renovated common room makes the hall more sociable than ever and a community atmosphere is really fostered here making it truly a home away from home.
I cant recommend this hall enough, its like a family.
Being in halls is an experience. I would highly recommend it to every person starting university. I made so many new friends and i have kept in contact with many of them. The common room was also available a lot of the time for us to relax and wind down which was god to. Overall, the hall had a real community vibe which was excellent
Fantastic rooms, great community, location is IDEAL.
Really good Rooms and kitchens are always cleaned- cleaners give biscuits if your kitchen is completely clean which is really nice!
Personally I think this is the best location out of all the halls in Loughborough. 1 Min away from the LSU, 15min walk from town, it off campus all your needs are in one space. Its a big ,Hall so plenty of friends to make. Everyone knows Bill Mo Pre's are the best
Bill Mo has the ideal location, being close to lecture theatres, sports facilities, the student union and town. The rooms are big and the flats contain everything you need. The hall is well managed, with helpful receptionists, and a well organised and efficient warden and sub warden system. It's by far the best hall!!
It's a nice, cosy accommodation with a very desirable location as lectures are 5-10 minutes away. Friendly accommodation staff, ready to help. University WiFi can be an issue sometimes.
Its in an amazing location, 2 mins from the union and has lots of social events. However if you end up in "pov block" you have a tiny kitchen and poor facilities.
The first term in William Morris Hall has been very enjoyable and easy going.
Really good halls, love the room and ensuite
Stunning rooms and buildings, feels like a hotel but a home at the same time, very clean, modern and has great common room space all opposite the su
Fantastic hall, returned for second year love it a lot x x x
Great time here at bill mo. Shame that we drew the short straw and got the run down block but still perfectly adequate
Good to be together who share similar interests in course
Very good experience, friendly and helpful staff, lovely grounds and clean
Great hall, I had loads of fun there Loads of friends, loads of great nights out there too
Committee is a bit too commercial, in terms of selling as much as possible to you for profit. Room Bond came very delayed and there was no invoice.
Loved it, a good choice for my first year.
Amazing!! The best hall if you want to be close to the union and town, especially good for nights out!
Best hall on campus, perfect location and great management. Great rooms and great people
Best hall life experience, all about meeting new people and enjoying university !
I know i'm bias but I genuinely believe BillMo is the best hall in Loughborough! Don't worry about the fact it's officially 'off campus' because it's actually the closest of all the halls to the swimming pool, most lecture rooms (except engineering), town and the students union. The union is literally a 30 second walk away as it's literally across the road - great for when you're stumbling back drunk! The atmosphere in the hall is unrivalled, it's so friendly and fun with such a fantastic community feel, I made great friends and met my boyfriend there! I was ensuite which is the newer blocks but if I could do it again I would be happy with the non ensuite or ensuite so don't fret if you don't get the ensuite you asked for! Billmo really is the best and your loyalty to the hall will stick with you for life! Not to mention we are sing off champions (google sing off Loughborough and you'll understand!) it really is the best hall in lough, apply for it and I promise you won't regret it!!
Great social aspect, freshers (etc.) however Unite are a joke, money grabbers and definitely would think twice about returning to a Unite-run hall. Got charged £83 for a mattress that was already damaged before my arrival. No point in reporting the appeal, it's not gonna work. Staff at the hall physically are great though if it wasn't for the students, social freshers it would not be a place I'd want to stay.
Fantastic Hall! Best location, community feel and far less aggressive/judgemental than some other halls on campus.
best hall for best student experience. Very social and gets everyone involved. Alcoholic and none alcoholic socials all the time. Made friends for life.
Great hall location ideal for town and campus life. 'Bill mo' becomes your family from the moment you move in... Friends for live can't help but be made. A great atmosphere to encourage hard work towards your degree while opportunities all around to get out and let your hair down. Couldn't ask for a better way to start university life!
Genuinely the best hall in Loughborough! Amazing community spirit, dominates most elements of hall life, best location 2 minutes walk from the student union. Everyone gets double beds, some rooms are ensuites. Most overprescribed hall for a reason! Known for an amazing social atmosphere that keeps people involved. Highly recommend!
Bill mo is the most competitive hall by far and with this comes a great sense of unity between all members. We also are the most sociable and get involved with everything Loughborough has to offer.
By far the best located hall, unrivalled atmosphere, top 2 hall in sports, charity and voluntary projects! And of course all the best people
One of the best experiences I've had, going back into bill mo next year as I don't want to leave
Best hall in Loughborough; location, socially, facilities.
The best halls at Loughborough by far! Location is on point and the social side of the halls is sweet! Really recommend it.
Incredible freshers, 2 min walk from the union, great crowd and awesome memories
Had the shared bathroom with 7 people which was much better than expected, not once in a year did I go to get a shower and someone was in it. Best social experience of all the halls, the non en-suite ones don't have the best social space e.g no sofas/tv but I wouldn't swap it for anything. Non en-suite blocks are more social and obviously cheaper. Definitely recommend!
One of the best halls at Loughborough university with great accommodation.
William Morris is definitely the best hall at Loughborough University, off and on campus!! You are guaranteed the best freshers and refreshers by choosing 'Bill Mo' as your hall to be!
The best location on campus, it is good value for money, although a few of the blocks aren't as nice as others
Great fun but limited space in the kitchen without proper dining tables.
I've had the best year of my life in Bill Mo. I've met some of the most incredible people and I wouldn't change a thing. Lived in a pov block in the mighty Whitehouse, and it was sick. Best location you could ask for! Such an amazing hall.
Sick first year. Bill mo day was quality way to see off this year.. Roll on second year
Fairly average experience - Some of the blocks are really run down (A-J) and a lot of things break/leak throughout the year. However, it is nice to have a 4ft bed, the rooms are a decent size and its great being so near to the union and town (although the library is quite a trek!) There was quite a disparity between committee and everyone else, i.e. they all hung out together and it created a bit of a divide in the hall, people didn't always feel included. I have met some really great friends who I am living with next year, but were it not for them it would have been a pretty poor experience.
The location is the best thing about Bill Mo, right next to the union and ten minutes from town you can't complain
If I didn't live in the 'slums' part of the hall, where we were also round the back - out of the way, I might have put higher results...
William Morris is an awesome hall, the social aspect is quality and the location in respective of town and the union matches the quality! Price is okay in terms of hall prices, however when 'semi-refurbished' pay the same as 'fully-refurbished' that just does not make sense, but only real flaw.
