The housing prices in Bristol are a disaster for students! Fortunately, Orchard Heights saved us. We were able to rent a room we like at a price lower than the market average, and the interior space is large, which is very suitable for one person to live comfortably!

All the Answers You Need About Student Accommodation
What tenancy length do I need?
Some students choose to stay during the academic year, whilst others – particularly international students – require a tenancy that covers the entire year. You can also find student accommodation that is available for one or two terms, classified as a “short stay” on our search filters.
Should I stay in catered student accommodation?
This is totally up to you! Catered accommodation means you will be served meals at set times in a dining hall, and you’ll likely have access to fewer kitchen facilities than if you were to stay in self-catered accommodation.
What is a guarantor and do I need one?
A guarantor is a person who signs a contract to agree to pay your rent if you are unable to. Most university accommodation requires a guarantor, and this applies to both domestic and international students.
Will I need to pay a deposit on student accommodation?
Most likely, yes, you’ll need to pay a deposit. This will be refunded at the end of your stay as long as there is no damage to the room or property.
What bills will my rent include?
If you are staying in university-run accommodation or private halls, your rent should include any utilities such as electricity, gas, water, and internet. Students are not required to pay council tax, however you may need to fill in an exemption form so make sure you check with your local council.
What is purpose-built student accommodation?
Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) are residential buildings designed for students. They are often located close to campus, boast modern facilities, include all bills, and often have staff on site to assist residents.
Will my student accommodation be furnished?
Student accommodation is typically fully furnished. Your room should include at least a bed, clothes storage, desk and chair. You’ll likely need to bring things such as bedding and kitchen utensils, but we have a full list here of everything you’ll need.

Perfect place and amazing staff especially Stanley he always helps me out he’s the best
Found my parcel when all hope was lost!!!!
Stanley was amazing with helping me find a bin for the kitchen.
Excellant location, warm and modern. A bit pricey however.

Good experience for first year.
Rooms are small and the walls are very thin making it feel cheap and overpriced, however it is an acceptable living space
My experience at orchard heights was great. The rooms themselves were big and had everything I needed, and were pathetically pleasing as well. The kitchen area was very big. The staff were friendly and were available at all times if needed. The social spaces were great as well, especially the activities such as pool tables and ping pong.
Overall Orchard Heights has been great accommodation for first year with all the necessary facilities and a good central location.
Tips: If you don’t like noises on Friday’s night&Weekend don’t choose Block C, it placed over O2 academy. You need to know, that sometimes your maintenance could be fixed very long. I was waiting for 31 days till fixing of my toilet flush. In general, good accommodation, with short distance to city centre/Wills memorial building(where some of your exams will be) Overall review 4/5.
The only negative is that courtyard is not clean. Other than that is it perfect!
Great experience living here. Good facilities with excellent staff, particularly loved Andrew.
It was good value for money. Nice people but can be loud
Very good location, mostly well kept building however maintenance is very slow to resolve issues
i think orchard heights is good and everything is nice but the cleaning facilities are not good
Wonderful social spaces and study rooms where I can study downstairs and have some fun with my friends at the same time. Excellent projector for watching football matches or playing video games. Room is big and spacious and the location of the accommodation is excellent, the closest one to the university. If I were a new student, I would put orchard heights as my first choice.
I’m a current resident and would spend my second year here if I could! Really enjoyed my first year so far and was primarily thanks to the accommodation
The accoms could be maintained better, and one of the accoms staff is really rude.
Such a good location and within walking distance to everything especially clubs and shops. Bit of a hilly walk to the uni but it’s a good work out. A mix of social and unsocial flats, you just got to get lucky
Very modern facilities. Great atmosphere. Bedrooms and kitchens are spacious and all come with en-suite facilities.
