Corfe House is a great place to live in my opinion. From what I have seen when visiting other halls we have more spacious rooms and even have double beds! The staff are wonderful and always looking for ways to keep students happy. Finally, the location is great as we are in a nice quiet area, Aldi is next door, Sainsbury's across the road and we are 5 minutes for the shopping centre and bus station, which gives you access to anywhere in the Poole/Bournemouth area. I would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Where do I begin with how bad Corfe is! Upon arriving it was dusty and going into the bathroom I was greeted with a PUBE in the toilet bowl! We were given a number to call if we needed assistance. I did this when my room door locked me out and upon calling down to reception for help was rudely told ‘this isn’t a hotel don’t call us when you’ve got a problem in future’. Staff came and went very frequently but often all had the same terrible attitude. I would not have stayed in Corfe if I had a choice and tried to move out, but the only way you can move is getting someone else to move into your room - no one wants to live here! Lifts were often broken or dodgy sounding Hot water was broken for a week in the winter - we were offered 3 shower rooms as compensation between 300 residents! Poole is a nice town, but full of racist old people! You feel you're missing out not being in bournemouth, especially on nights out. Having Aldi so close was nice PREMIUM ROOMS AREN'T WORTH THE £!

Reply from Corfe House

We are delighted to read that you think Poole is a nice town – we wholeheartedly agree. Corfe House is only a short stroll from the pretty quayside and some of our rooms even have waterside views. It is also good to hear that you appreciated the convenience of the supermarket next door, customers often say how handy this is. However, we’re really sorry to hear about your negative experience with a staff member. We have staff on site 24 hours a day with the aim of providing our customers with the very best around the clock service and it is disappointing to read that we have fallen short. We assure you that your comments have been taken very seriously and we would like to learn more about this incident to help us make improvements. If you wouldn’t mind sending us an email so we can investigate the matter it would be greatly appreciated. Corfe.house@studentroost.co.uk We are sorry for the issues experienced with the hot water back in early January. We did have an issue with the hot water pump for 4 days. Many of our residents were away from the property at the time but for those few who remained, we arranged the use of showering facilities at a neighbouring hotel. We understand how inconvenient this was for you but are pleased we were able to offer our customers a temporary solution whilst the emergency repairs were made. We are also sorry that you had problems with the lifts during your stay. We have 2 lifts at Corfe House which are serviced and maintained regularly. As with all machinery, the lifts do require maintenance from time to time. We understand the importance of keeping them running for you, so always ensure that one is kept operational whilst carrying out works on the other and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this caused you. Thank you for choosing to stay with us this year. We really do appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us and please rest assured that we will use your feedback to continue to make improvements. We hope you have a lovely summer Regards The Corfe House Team Sarah Parr Bournemouth & Poole City Manager M: 07825 863527 Student Roost Home Park | Lansdowne Plaza| York Road, Bournemouth| BH1 3BW | 01202 001487 Corfe House | Pitwines Close | Poole | BH15 1ED | 01202 649670

If you love having to wake up earlier for a long bus journey to uni, having to travel an hour to see ur friends in other halls, and paying for a cleaner who never cleans ur kitchen, Then Corfe is perfect for u, I love being in a dead town centre and being tired and late for my lectures!

Takes more than an hour to get to Lansdowne campus, and around 35-50 minutes to get to Talbot campus. Why would they put accommodation for far away, I have wasted so many hours of my life getting to university and Bournemouth town. Cleaner never cleans. Internet just gets disconnected all the time. Some lights in the hallways don't work so it is dark. The location is awful it's unfair to make students pay this much money for rent. POOLE IS FAR AWAY FROM EVERYTHING AND FULL OF CHAVS AND OLD PEOPLE- not a place for a student.

Suitable for students who aren't too keen on clubbing - but still some good social spaces and events so it doesn't get too lonely. Location is brilliant as it's close to the high street, shopping centre, quay, bus station, train station; all are within walking distance. Aldi and Sainsbury's are also right next door. Obviously the only downside is the 40min bus journey to campus but you get used to it. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms are fresh and clean. Lots of places to store things. Bring a fan as it gets incredibly warm, windows open a decent way to let a fair bit of air in. Just a few random tidbits: The shower might be difficult to get into if you're on the bigger side, a flatmate learned that the hard way. There's a light switch above the bed, curtains block out all light so you'll have a great sleep - but bring a mattress topper (the bed is 4ft). Incredibly quiet, can't hear anything from other rooms or flats. Wifi is just average.

I've loved Corfe House. It's a bit far from Uni but thats not too much of a problem unless you want to be clubbing every night. The staff are nice and the rooms are quite big with lots of storage and double beds! If you are in one of the higher up flats you have a great view of the sea too. I would say that if you have bad housemates it isnt the best because you are far away from other people in Poole, but I made friends with people in other flats really easily so it was okay and I guess you can have problems with housemates anywhere.

The main downside to this hall would be location. It's a pretty good hall to live in with good staff but far from the others, the university and the town which means a lot of long bus rides if you don't plan on staying in often.

Corfe House is far from Bournemouth, it’s annoying if you’re someone who likes to go out a lot. One thing that you do get that isn’t as common in other student accommodation is a sense of closeness. I had friends all over the building that I would often meet up with, I had some amazing memories from this place. It can make you lonely tho, being far away from the other halls doesn’t help. If you’re prone to depression or anxiety then being confined to corfe can be isolating. Comparatively to the other halls you can stay in, I’d say quality of life is 3rd place. Good kitchen, double bed which is always a bonus and decent staff. Shelley is the cleaner and she is a queen. We love her. If you’re a party animal, this is not your place. If you’re more of a stay at home, house parties and going out occasionally type of folk then I would say go for it. Also Aldi and Sainsbury’s is literally 40 seconds away and there is a Taco Bell which is also kind of cool.

Was an overall good year at corfe, location meant it was a pain managing time getting to and from uni/going out in Bournemouth (taxi back from bmouth on a night out was typically £20-25 or £3 for the nightbus). Nice area in Poole though.

it’s got everything you need. Aldi Sainsbury’s. Minutes away from the high street and shopping centre. Staff are friendly Loads of activities It’s clean if you keep it that way Ideal for nursing students with a poole locality. maintenance takes forever and they rarely knock when entering the flat. Took a whole term for the elevator to be fixed. The place frequently stinks of weed. From outside and in. Ground floor/ first floor regularly smells like rotting garbage. Literally no Parking in the area so good luck if you plan on bringing your car. Can be really noisy due to the railway right next to the building.

Honestly just an awful accommodation! 30 minute bus journey to talbot campus, and even further to Bournemouth, where all the good shops/pubs/clubs are. (There’s absolutely nothing to do in Poole) The long bus journey home after a night out really isn’t convenient either, especially when you think that everyone else has a 5 minute walk home... You’re isolated from all other accommodations, and don’t really feel like your part of the uni. Bournemouth uni are happy to move you somewhere else, but only if you can find someone to take your room, which is impossible as literally no one willingly wants to come here. Corfe is a ghost town most of the time, even on weekends. Can’t wait to finish my first year so I can leave!

Location is terrible meaning to get to lectures on the bu campus you have to catch the bus an hour before and after nights out money has to be spent to get back - although there is a night bus for only £3 but this is still £3 more than other students pay and if all adds up!! New management is also not very good have been waiting well over a month for my deposit to be returned when the team originally stated it would be retuned 14 days after leaving - on the other hand the rooms and kitchens are nice and the kitchen gets cleaned regularly

People say that Corfe House isn't the best location distance-wise from Bournemouth uni which is very true, but especially as a Postgraduate student. Having to get a 30minute (40 if using one of the non-uni buses) to get to lectures did eat up time, and you couldn't just pop home if you forgot something. However, the links to Bournemouth are really good, Ignoring the distance from the uni it's in a really lovely area very close to Poole park (with a lake), the edge of Poole Harbour, two shopping centres, and the pedestrian town centre. The staff were really lovely and helpful, and I would say actually aimed to be friends to the students. The size of the halls being small was nice too because you would learn to recognise people quickly which made it feel very familiar and comfortable. Though I wouldn't have minded being somewhere much closer in the end to the university there were not really any other things I'd change about my experience in the halls.

My experience with Corfe House has been awful. Traffic can get really bad especially if it's raining so there is a chance you'll be late for some morning classes. The halls and rooms have not been recently painted and they don't overall feel very clean. Every furniture and appliance is of regular to bad quality (shower, bed, oven, toilet etc...). The staff has been disrespectful to me on several occasions. The flats and surrounding area (bus and train station) can get really noisy. The rent for the kind of accommodation provided is ridiculous, much better and cheaper options can be found near the campus. I do not recommend this to any person with good standards.

Corfe House location isn't the best but I found you bond with the people in your halls a lot more as its small and you're in the only halls in poole. The double beds are amazing!! The night life/partying is just as good. You just need to fork out a bit for taxi's to get home which is roughly £5 each. There's a shopping centre right next to the halls and the bus service is really good. There's an aldi next door to the halls which is very cheap. Sandbanks and the local park with a lake in poole are also gorgeous in summer as well as bournemouth beach. I've had an over all good experience living in corfe.. It's just a little far but everything you need is within close proximity apart from the nightlife which there are frequent buses to anyway.

Terrible location! No where near the university it takes 30 mins on the bus at least to get there. It's over an hour away from the other halls so you can't socialise and if you want to go out clubbing it's so far that it costs £25 in taxi fares one way. It is close to the poole town centre but that is rubbish compared to Bournemouth. DO NOT GO HERE.

as a student nurse this accommodation is ideal, it's in a beautiful location and close to placements. However if you're studying a university based course you may feel like your out of way a bit, and it does make nights out more difficult. For me, I have no regrets about choose these halls, but can see why others might.

Corfe House is situated in Poole which is a 20-30 minute bus ride to uni and a 25-40 bus ride into bournemouth town. This is the only downside as its away from everything however being in Poole it still has everything you need including a shopping centre, leisure centre and a beautiful harbour. The vibe in Corfe is amazing, it's like a community as we are the only student halls in Poole meaning everyone kind of knows everyone. Reception is so reliable, they are there to help 24/7
