This is the cheapest on campus but, I think the best. More people live together but, you have your own room and bathroom. The people in there also tend to be more willing to mix. Best flat parties happen here!
Wouldn't have been too bad apart from the horrendous booming nightclub opposite which opened whenever it fancied and often blasted bass so loud that you could feel it in your room until 10 am the next morning.
Again, would have been ideal had the University actually taken note of a fellow student stalking and harassing myself and Uni friends and dealt with him instead if leaving it solely to the Police until he was sentenced to prison. You can imagine you don't feel very safe if that's going on around you. Moreover, another fundamental point here is that one of my flatmates killed himself in the room of the flat in which we lived at the Lakeside residences in April 2014. To make things even worse, the University seemed to have no policy for an event such as this and wrongfully swore myself and his other flatmates to secrecy to avoid bad press. Then they proceeded to let slip to me how he killed himself with the greatest level of unprofessionalism and lack of respect I have ever seen.
My worst experience in student accommodation by far! From day 1, the kitchen and the rooms were dirty. The water 80% is cold. The hall management is not helpful at all. The location is good but other than that is an old, messy, dirty hall.
If you want scenic, modern and affordable accommodation then Lakeside at Aston is for you!! Not only is the location conveniently on campus but it's affordability also leaves you with plenty of money for the sesh.
The place to be. Party central. The best value for money and the most social of Aston's halls. Would not satay at James Watt even if you paid me. Who even is William Murdock? I don't even know the names of the other halls that's how much they matter.
