The building is old and maintained as such. The rooms are adequate but not worth the price we are expected to pay. The laundrette is shared with Canal Wharf residents, it usually has issues with its washers or driers. Currently, it has been out of service for 2 weeks with no update regarding its restoration. The housekeeping staff is sweet and do their best but there is not much their efforts can do for common kitchens shared by the entire floor (9 people). The location is a decent 15 minute walk away from the city centre and connected with buses but it’s a disadvantage to take buses upto the uni during term time as the buses get full by the time they reach the bus stop near Clevelands. The only nearby grocery store is Tesco Express which is considerably more expensive compared to other supermarkets. If you have a choice, it is recommended to pick an accommodation in the city center or on uni campus. They aren’t much better but their location eliminates the major problems faced here.
They should not put undergraduates here when they have an acceptance surplus. It badly affected my first year to be in postgrad accommodation with few others my age.
