As an international student, I’d say studying at Aston gives you a very solid experience: good facilities, modern campus, central city location, and a strong support system. If I were to summarise: you’ll find the tools and environment to succeed but your personal outcome will depend on how much you take advantage of them. If you are motivated to study hard, connect with peers, use the support and engage in campus life, you’ll likely come away with not only a degree but meaningful experiences and good preparation for your career.

I love the clubs especially cheerleading of which I am a part of. Also the career and placement team is also instrumental and I love that we can always go to them to talk and engage them about the right choices to make.
Aston University, especially for my course, Business and Management, is one of the best places in the Midlands to study this subject. This is because of the service available to you, such as Aston Futures and the learning development centre, as well as the teaching experience, as teachers have come from previous experiences related to the module itself
Innovative society with friendly and supportive staffs. Fast response and in-time support during my whole academic year. Well-equiped labs and training room. Many students study spaces.
During my time at university, I became the president of the Nepali Society (Nepsoc) with the goal of creating a stronger and more inclusive community for Nepalese students. At first, it was challenging to balance my leadership responsibilities with my law studies, and I often doubted whether I could manage it all. But as I began organising cultural events, supporting new students, and helping those who faced language barriers, I grew more confident in my abilities. By the end of the year, the society had become more active and united than ever, and I had developed leadership and communication skills that deeply shaped my university journey.
My university journey has been a multifaceted experience, marked by both challenges and triumphs. Academically, the curriculum has been rigorous, demanding a commitment to consistent study and critical thinking. The quality of instruction varies, with some lecturers excelling in their ability to engage and inspire, while others leave much to be desired. Beyond the classroom, the university environment fosters a vibrant social life. The opportunity to connect with diverse individuals from various backgrounds has been enriching. Collaborative projects and group study sessions have strengthened my teamwork skills and broadened my perspectives. However, the university experience is not without its drawbacks. The cost of living and tuition fees can be a significant financial burden. Additionally, the bureaucratic processes and administrative inefficiencies can be frustrating at times. Overall, my time at university has been a period of personal and intellectual growth.
I had a good and pleasant experience
Good university and is really helpful especially the lecturers and I love my course
Good university to study at just lacking abit in societies and opportunities to meet people after welcome week
The campus and the ambience are beautiful and they have got many study spaces to let us focus on studying. The "silent room" for the students undertaking PG gives a different level of motivation!
So far Campus has had good facilities and lots of space. One issue is the chairs are sometimes not clean and lifts can be too full at times. The Students Union provide a wide range of excellent opportunities and societies to join. Careers Services are easy to contact. The internet is usually good and reliable but WiFi was extremely difficult to connect to initially and can sometimes be unreliable in some lecture theatres. Perhaps a tutorial for how to connect for new students could be useful?
I am an international student at Aston University doing Msc Biotechnology and I have a great experience here, the people, staff and teachers are supportive and nice.
As a current student at Aston University, I’ve really enjoyed the campus experience. Everything is in one place, so it’s easy to get around and meet people. The library is a great study space — open late with different zones for quiet or group work. The labs and facilities are modern, especially the specialist ones like the VR suite and the health clinics, which make studying feel more practical. The sports centre is well-equipped, and the swimming pool is a nice bonus. The campus can feel a bit compact, but being right in the centre of Birmingham makes up for it, with plenty to do just outside.
All round decent. The lectures are good and consistent. Learning is provided really well both in person and at home with plenty of support and communication.
Overall a good university to study at as it has a wide range of courses that’s fit for everyone. It’s close to city centre so it’s quick and easy locate
It’s a good with great campus facilities and career support and opportunities.
The university is actually very welcoming along with its staff and facilities, both physical and online.
I have only started last week, but from what I have seen, all of the staff are very welcoming and appear easy to talk to about queries. It makes me feel reassured that my studies here will be in good hands.
Lovely and comforting university but wifi needs to be better pls :)
Club activities aren't so visible nor SU activities which remains only Aston burry. There's more potential to do. The canteens although outsourced could be cheaper.
It's great. I like the staff and environment
Iam very proud to be a student in this university and I was very happy
Very good university and in a great location
I would defo tell my friends to come here next time because there is great service here.
So this is a good accomodation because it enables full facilities to available. It also close to the university which enables there to be more convenience.
Good experience and will be staying and recommending to more people
WiFi is beautiful. Best I've seen
Small and personal but student union incapable.
Decent uni but sometimes i don’t feel very supported

the Internet can be very problematic and the SU are not helpful when you are trying to run a society but overall a good uni
Experience is okay, but the Student Union is the worst aspect of the university. It lacks staff members and the help required for clubs to run effectively
I have loved my time at Aston university, I would recommend joining societies and trying everything
The experience has been good. There are good facilities but the washing machine is quite expensive for the service
I think improvements are needed all around
Overall, the societies and SU was very good, there are many opportunities to join and SU is very active.
Also had some great memories with the events hosted by the SU.
I really liked studying and living here. I learned a lot and had a fantastic time. I met good people and made friends.
Wifi becomes extremely poor often but the environment and opportunities are great
Good university--- but courses are too simple and lack depth.

Aston University offers an outstanding learning environment with a strong focus on employability and real-world skills. The supportive faculty, modern facilities, and vibrant campus life create an enriching academic experience. With its central Birmingham location and excellent industry links, Aston truly prepares students for success in their careers. Highly recommended for ambitious and career-driven individuals.
Good uni and facilities , great
Great accomodation. Really convinient location. The shuttle service makes grocery shopping easy. The kitchen fitted with all necessary appliances
Great university in general. I wished the SU had help more general events that involved everyone or appreciated more cultures - it’s rather centred around the south Asian religious and cultural demographic.
Great place to study, especially for international students
Been great so far. Haven’t had any isssue

Good experience over the past 4 years.
Great university and accommodation
Aston University is a very welcoming University, with it being close to city centre and having so many things to do and explore.
Although the campus is small, it is well-equipped with all the necessary facilities to support a healthy and competent learning environment. From modern classrooms and labs to accessible study spaces and essential student services, everything is thoughtfully provided to meet academic and personal needs. The compact nature of the campus also fosters a close-knit community, making it easier to connect with peers and faculty. Overall, it's a great place for focused and effective learning.
Good experience overall; however, ID card replacement charges are way too high, i.e., GBP 10 for a student, and the first-time replacement should be free, and the process of getting it replaced is also too cumbersome. Attendance-capturing instruments do not work most of the time, due to which a student has to keep on sending numerous emails just to regularize the attendance, with proofs and professor approvals, and it still takes multiple attempts. This is an unnecessary time-wasting activity where the students are losing too much time.
The student space is a good place to study and plan for your future
Choosing Aston University was one of the best decisions I've ever made. From the moment I stepped onto campus, I felt welcomed, supported, and inspired. The university’s location in the heart of Birmingham is unbeatable, vibrant, diverse, and full of opportunities, both socially and professionally.
I've had a great experience at my university so far. The lecturers are knowledgeable and approachable, and the course content is both challenging and relevant to the real world. There are plenty of support services available, and the campus has a friendly, diverse atmosphere that makes it easy to connect with others. Definitely a place where you can grow academically and personally.
Nice place to be enjoying my time here
Good enough for studying, and any problems raised are fixed in a reasonable time.
the environment at bagot is really good and has a great security service
Very nice place to live for students
I just love everything about Aston University
Loads of societies and easy to start your own if ud like to
As a current student at Aston University, I can confidently say that my experience here has been exceptional. The university offers a vibrant and supportive environment that caters to both academic and personal growth. Campus & Facilities Aston's city-centre campus is modern and well-equipped, providing a range of facilities that enhance the learning experience. The library is extensive and offers numerous study spaces, while the lecture halls are equipped with the latest technology. The campus is also home to various cafes and social spaces, making it a comfortable place to study and relax. Clubs & Societies With over 130 student-led clubs and societies, there's something for everyone at Aston. Whether you're interested in sports, arts, culture, or academics, you'll find a group that matches your interests. Joining these societies has been a great way to meet new people and engage in activities outside of my studies.
I started uni in September doing a cybersecurity course. It was a good year very informative and interesting.
What the Accommodation has to offer is amazing. The social events they provide are amazing, even smaller ones at the front desk that the reception team offer. i.e. advent calendars for christmas, valentines presents from spin a wheel and even iftar and diwali events
My experience at Aston has been very positive, there are a range of sports clubs and societies you can join based on your interests! Academic staff are very supportive and approachable regarding any personal or professional queries, made me feel well prepared to undertake my exams and submissions. Professors are helpful in helping seek part time roles- (e.g tutoring) and guiding me to achieve personal goals and enhance my CV. Students Union organise events regularly for students, very inclusive of different cultures and festivals which are celebrated within the university and nurtures talent within our community.
Not enough social spaces given the amount of students. As a result, those students end up going to the study spaces to talk, which makes those difficult to work in. Overall, way too few spaces for studying or to hangout which makes it difficult to stay on campus during busy hours.
Awful campus as wifi and network are bad and student union too crowded
Student union is great and uni is very good
Everything about uni is great, i love how close it is to onyx
I wouldn't wish to live anywhere else, management are so friendly and helpful, I felt welcomed and at home as soon as I arrived!
It's alright. Never been a fan of the uni lol
Great uni and location is perfect
i dont spend much time at the campus to give a in detail response i just go to my lessons and go home
Good accommodation for students

Decent university for a Business major
Great service from the staff and student bodies as well
