Very good experience wonderful people and place
BangorU is the providing excellent academic and research training in the field of health sciences. The lecturers put in their best efforts to facilitate students academically
Great clubs and community. So much to get involved in, made lots of great friends through my club.
Bangor university is best place to study. Lectures are expert in their fields and with excellent teaching skills.
Great university, everyone is very friendly and helpful.
It's a good and quiet place to study
The uni are giving the best education and safety to me Also tutor and students are friendly so far it is great but the Wi-Fi need to improve more
Been a wonderful experience to be a Bangor student so far. Few more years to go.
Studying nursing at Bangor university
My experience with Bangor University has been a whirlwind. Having started during the decline of Covid, I was faced with having to attend lectures online to which I’ve never done before. It was an incredibly huge adapt but everyone was in the same position, so it seemed we were working it out together (lecturers included!). Doing Children’s nursing at Bangor but staying in the Wrexham Campus was great as it was within walking distance from my accommodation, utilising the unis facilities more towards the end of our degree which is a slight shame as we would have benefited from it much earlier. I enjoyed each placement thoroughly and only through Bangor I was able to attend Alder Hey Children’s Hospital for 7 weeks which was my favourite placement of all. Theory-wise, I do feel like the uni could do with more improvement on teaching strategies and organisation as there was a lot of miscommunication which became very frustrating for us as dependent students
It is a great university and provide best lectures and professors to students to achieve there goals
Free clubs and societies means I was able to enjoy many different sports, Canolfan Brailsford having excellent facilities and there being a swimming pool and gymnastics gym nearby. The career service lead me to getting a job in America next year. Bangor city is very affordable and walking distance to everything.
Love Bangor Uni. The lecturers are incredibly accessible, always ready to help. The town is breathtakingly beautiful. A little too small and insular for my taste, but it is safe and secure, especially if you have children. I adore the uni and I really value my time there. Bangor Business School.
The clubs and societies are what the uni is all about!
Great university, great location for thsi who like the outdoors and nature, so close to all of the natural beauty spots. Great experience with my course/languages. Very friendly staff. Uni in general seemed very forward thinking and very inclusive atmosphere. Great opportunities and scholarships available.
Nice environment and good research university.
Very good and a great university
Sorry I have not attended site for lectures as yet due to course being online, haven’t even met my cohort in person, very disappointing indeed. So am unable to comment on any of the above topics but would not let me make comment until I filled the fields in
excellent traching staff that deeply care about the success of thier students, and are passionate about their subjects and the best way to deliver the material
Very good uni to study at. Really friendly and helpful staff, great facilities and clubs.
I did my masters in Bangor University and I’m doing my PhD as well, I’m really happy where I am.
Valuable experience which I would not get anywhere else
Primary Education is a fantastic course to study at Bangor University. The course and teaching is excellent and it definitely prepares you for the career of being a teacher. Studying a very practical course with placements and a lot of contact hours however does take away from the 'student experience' as there is less time to take part in extra-curricular activities and nights out!
Bangor gave me the confidence and support to start up my own business. If you keep your eyes open for opportunities and say yes to experiences, you can get a lot out of coming here and have a lot of fun. There really is a nice community aspect too - I felt a part of the uni while I was here and met the best people I know. My lecturers were a bit hit or miss but some of them were really inspiring. All-in-all it's a great place to be as a creative.
Thoroughly enjoyed my time here in Bangor. The student union have been great and really creative with their ideas- definitely enjoyed the free roast dinners on a sunday!
I am thoroughly enjoying my time at Uni
Bangor University have particularly good resources - they helped me through GCSE and have helped me through my degree
Bangor university doing excellent in every aspect.
No issues. Is what you make of it. Generally good.
Good uni. Great selection of free clubs and societies
It’s a nice and relatively small university, good access with some great surrounding areas to explore.
the loveliest place to be 10/10
It's been difficult considering the circumstances, but the university has done its best to insure that we continue to learn and experience university life.
Overall great. The societies, albeit not running in person during the pandemic, provide support to students. WiFi is fast and easily accessible though there are some blank spots in the accommodation. Onsite security and Circuit laundry available 24/7.
An overall amazing uni. It’s sad I’ve only realised how incredible it was since doing a Masters at a Russell Group uni. Bangor may not be the best on the league tables but in terms of student support and overall enjoyment of uni life I cannot fault it. It’s also in the most beautiful location
Good wifi in all of the Uni buildings that I've been in. The students union has done their best with the current pandemic, so can't fault them for the events that have been put on, which have followed the rules and still engaged students at the uni. The clubs and societies are free, which makes it easy to join lots of them and make friends quickly in the first year.
My time at Bangor University was one I hold so close to my heart. I often desperately miss not just the uni but the whole place. Academic excellence is the the fairest and truest statement to associate with Bangor. The uni is second to none, is all aspects.
I had such an amazing time at Bangor, I felt that all the lecturers cared for me personally & were interested in the quality of my education. I would recommend Bangor to anyone, who cared about the standard of their education.
Best university ever. Most supportive staff, campus life team, employees. Location is stunning.
Really supportive & friendly university in a beautiful location. Loved being a part of clubs, societies and volunteering, which created lots of amassing memories and looks great on my CV.
Good University, located in a pretty place.
wifi flawless everywhere. students union very helpful with announcements nearly every week,
Grand for those who want the uni experience or those who want the piece of paper at the end, don't expect to learn
A wonderful place filled with supportive, fun and encouraging people. I get to be challenged and educated both in my lectures, through clubs/societies and navigating uni life.
Wonderful students union and societies , always listening to the students to make the next years better! The institution's courses are thorough and have good feedback systems through myBangor
Pros: Excellent Experience, especially Clubs and Societies. Great Pubs too. Cons: Not brilliant to travel to, clubbing scene is a bit thin.
I have had a great experience at Bangor Uni! The uni itself is great, I love my course (Sociology and Childhood studies), there are loads of great opportunities and the pastoral care and support is of a very high standard! Not much to complain about!
University hits well above its weight. Practically everything, especially the course (Law LLB), was better than expected!
A fantastic, all-rounded university situated in a prime location for aesthetics and outdoor activities. Student support and advice is easy to get through both student service facilities and the Students' Union. This is rounded off by a huge range of free clubs and societies, high quality research facilities and excellent staff.
Great facilities and opportunities.
Very good, always something going on each week
Amazing university, very good standards and highly recommend to others
Solid, brilliant that all societies are free and all lecturers and staff are very approachable
My time at Bangor university has been fun, interesting and (I’m not gonna lie) stressful. But it has made me tackle assignments in different ways, and made me believe in my work and in myself. I would highly recommend Bangor university if you like an environment where your teachers see you as a person and not just someone in a class.
Nice accommodation and facilities, social aspect on campus needs to be way improved
Free clubs and societies and any help if required mental or academic is given for free! Amazing courses also!
Living in halls for three years had shows how amazing the accommodation is. As well as this, I’ve taken full advantage of the free clubs and societies! It’s such an amazing place to study? Beautiful location and a great university
The support services are incredibly helpful and got me through tough times when I needed support
Not as good as it’s made out to be
Bangor uni is fantastic. The facilities are easily accessible to all, the career prospects and guidance is immense as the team are more than willing to help in any way they possibly can. The halls accommodation is a good quality and the sizes are generous. Clubs and societies are free to attend and range far and wide across various disciplines. It’s also really easy to create a new society too. The academic departments are high quality and the staff are so so helpful and lovely.
Absolutely amazing Uni had an amazing time here
I love this university, I appreciate the support given rather it be personal or academic related. Just knowing that there are individuals within the university that offer support for anything makes me feel very well assured and not alone. This university provides many opportunities for one to grow, an example would be the volunteering opportunities in which I am involved in many. I have acquired many interpersonal and valuable skills that I feel will make me stand out when putting in applications for a job, project or any work opportunity.
Great experience through the 3 years
Very supportive staff and all facilities needed within a walking distance. Dedicated lecturers across the board.
Idilic university & location. There is a huge course availability. Academic excellence in a fantastic location. Ideal for those who want to be amongst the best in their fields and love the outdoors & exploring. Theres also vibrant night life and two main disco clubs.
Great coastal location in north wales, between the isle of anglesey and the mountains of snowdonia rising over 1,000m right next. Brutal nature & university. Lecturers are amongst the best in their fields. You have all the facilities you could ever need whatever course you're on. Bangor town is small but has practically everything you could buy and 5 huge supermarkets on a town of under 20,000 habitants of which half are bangor university students! Pretty amazing.
They offer lots of support and the societies are very varied as well
The University has great sport facilities which fill all club/society requirements well. Just a beautiful and friendly place to study at. I have just really enjoyed my time here.
One of the best things about Bangor University is the wide variety of books available in the library as I’ve never struggled to find a relevant book to be able to do my work, also the societies are fantasric as there is everything for everyon, from sports to dog walking to even a tea time society. Also I always know where to find help as I get emailed for careers advice updates and I also know that my lecturers are always happy to help.
Its been great here the university is very supportive and theres lots to get involved in! Would recommend.
It’s been the best three years of my life!
As a marine biology student I firmly believe that attending Bangor university is one of the best options you can take to give you the best chance at making a career in the field for yourself. The lab facilities are superb, the teaching is excellent and geographically it is perfectly situated. Salt marshes, Rocky shores, Sandy shores and much more all within half an hour of the campus as well as the Menai straight. The other geography of Bangor that’s great is that virtually any extra curricular activity you want to do, be it climbing in the mountains of snowdonia or surfing the Irish Sea it’s all easy accessible to students.
Fantastic university with fantastic lecturers and a wide selection of courses to choose from!
Bangor University is amazing! I feel so at home here and everyone is so welcoming. The staff are always willing to help with any concerns and the teaching is great.
The university itself has limited social facilities for students but there are multiple pubs and two clubs in the area. However, the university has a good amount of academic resources available. The university is good for those who enjoy sports and the outdoors as there are multiple clubs available for these sorts of activities.
Very nice place to be for a student!
Great university with a great variety of facilities and courses to choose from
Great university. I’m in my first year and have had a great time so far. Knowledgable and passionate staff- always lots of help if needed.
The Best, supportive and kind lecturers in the Welsh School! Efficient library and beautiful building. Vast variety of societies and communities, many and constant job fairs, and lots of fun at the annual summer ball!
Amazing university but quite far from anything else. Very small town uni if that is what you’re looking for
Amazing people and the freshers was amazing for meeting everyone. Needs more clubs though
Bangor is everything I wanted a university to be
Bangor is a beautiful university and I have have really enjoyed studying here. The staff are so supportive and enthusiastic and have really helped me through my degree.
Bangor is an amazing place with tutors and lecturers who care about their subjects more than anything else. It’s a beautiful town full of character. It needs a lot more credit than it receives. You are cared about and looked after.
Amazing University. Couldn't have been better.
Bangor University is a great place to study! With Snowdonia on your door step and anglesey just across the bridge, there is something for everyone! The Halls of Residence accommodation is very nice and the on site gym (membership is included with halls fees) has fantastic facilities. Everything is very accessible and within easy walking distance, and there is also excellent train links to and from the city.
University is in a beautiful location, with lots of clubs, societies and activities. The University campus is good, and the Halls campuses are also excellent.
Bangor university has provided a really safe, helpful environment for me to study. Campus facilities are definitely adequate with 3 seperate libraries and plenty of space to study in quet areas. Theres a new, modern arts centre with lots of food outlets and a modern place to study too. Lecture rooms are sometimes too hot or too cold or theres too many students been paced in them. Uni computers are new and of really good quality, with printing prices reasonable too! As for gym, we have a state of the art gym to support all manner of societies. The careers advice service has been absolutely fantastic with an 'employability award' scheme to show your extra curricular efforts you do whilst studying. I'm proud to say that I'm a student at Bangor University.
Thought the place was amazing till I found out they were gonna get rid of my course and now it's making my worry about the quality of my course. Up until now my course has been amazing and it would be a shame to lose it!
Brilliant university, warm, welcoming and supportive. Loving the course! Beautiful scenery with the view of the mountains. It's sadly so underrated
Excellent facilities! Brilliant gym and everything within walking distance (if you like hills)
The accommodation is trash. Don't think about going into the older buildings because they are so disgusting. They are literally falling apart as we speak. You think the University cares about you? They don't. All they care about is making money. I'm currently being charged £354 for not handing in my key at the end of the year because I lost it, their reasoning for such a cost is because they are charging me £100 for the change of locks (which I understand) and £229.60 for an extra 14 days rent (which I do not understand), even though they closed the entire building and no one was living there and a £25 "admin fee" (what does this even mean?). My friend is being charged £200 because someone had put their own mattress in the kitchen to be binned and because she was the last person there she is getting fined. My boyfriend had to pay £150 in noise complaints even though he didn't do anything. The Uni is failing, they aren't getting enough students and so they fine their current students!
My tutor is one of the best people in the planet tbh , this uni will bend over backwards to support there students
The university if amazing. Buildings are so beautiful and the clubs and societies funded by the SU are amazing.
The WiFi is fast and there are plenty of options for food. I never see student union but the campus always has something to do
great university, plenty of clubs and societies to fill your spare time with and if you walk ten mins in any direction then you are in the countryside which is fantastic.
It's average! Beware that many things will be charged that means they will try and get as much money from you as possible!
Absolutely awful, the people were nice -- well the ones I met whilst on my course. However, the university it's self was beyond appalling. The student union did nothing. The support I'd asked for during my time was a waste of time as nothing came about it. It's a lovely place, except for some part but thats expected everywhere, there is nothing to really do... Most people in my year that I knew have left and gone somewhere else, and I think I'll cut my loses too. By the way it lies when it says the cheapest accommodation... And it fails at being a "city". Sorry. Not sorry. Abysmal.
Best part is the Clubs and Sportsteams. Everything is for free, you get all the kit you need it's just great!
As an international student, I'm actually completely appalled by this university. I find the facilities here to be very lack luster and inadequate in almost every aspect. They have a wide range of clubs and societies but the university does a horrible job at managing them and many of the sports teams aren't even worth joining because of absolutely horrible facilities and management. I don't even think this campus has a student union. If so, I know nothing about it. The wifi has been absolute trash since day one. I can't even connect my phone to the wifi for more than 5 minutes, and it is a modern miracle that I was able to connect my laptop long enough to type this review. The IT Service department takes far too long to respond to issues and even longer to fix the issues. In my opinion, the job they have done this semester is completely unacceptable and disgusting by most standards. You couldn't pay me enough money to come back to this university.
