The best things about Bangor are the societies available and the amazing lecturers - everything else isn't much else to write home about. Tiny town where even the charity shops are closing, good luck if you want to visit any good shops since this is at least a half hour's train away in Llandudno. The nightlife isn't amazing with 2 bang average clubs, but the pubs are brilliant and cheap. Bangor's very cheap to live in which is a big benefit, the road and rail links are good (most of the time). The student halls are decent but do prepare to walk back up the biggest hill of your life back to bed if you want to go into town/uni/anywhere else!
Awesome , Friendly and supportive environment. that extremely important for an international student. Classes and facilities are provided. Easy excess to Blackboard to regular excess class and refer to study material. Library and digital work space is best to learn and contribute focus time on assignment and study.
Does what it says on the tin. Main building is beautiful and the rest is your standard uni building. Facilities are what you would expect but WiFi can be patchy and over loaded at times.
Over all a well rounded set of facilities are provided for the students, the staff linked to the facilitues are knowledgeable and helpful and are always happy to support students.
My experience with studying at Bangor university, now in my 3rd year of completing my Diagnostic Radiography degree, has overall been good. Tutors have provided a solid level of teaching and coaching throughout as well as providing support and guidance.
Great uni flexible, learning, available, online and face-to-face. All tutors are Very helpful.
I have had an amazing experience as an international student at Bangor university. It felt like home a few days into semester. The staff, the management and the processors are super supportive and encouraging which makes it even better to study here.
It’s okay, not many study areas though and parking is a nightmare even with a permit
Really nice halls very clean with everything you would need. Serendipity was also very well organised. Lots of clubs and societies that were all very welcoming
Facilities and campus is great, wifi could be better.
I have used the library for revision during my assessment period and it was perfect, lots of support around for all subject. Online services from Bangor university are excellent
Bangor University is a fantastic institution that provides its students with excellent academic and personal growth opportunities. Its location and the community make it an attractive place for people to visit, and its reputation and facilities make it a great place to study.
All the services I have accessed have been incredibly helpful and integral parts into settling into university life and the success of my university career.
The support and facilities at Bangor are very welcoming. They genuinely want what's best for you and they look out for their students wellbeing
I am a Bangor student on Wrexham campus where there are none or very little services available to us but we still pay the same tuition fees.
A great university only issues I’ve had have been to do with study space availability
Great campus, Inspiring faculty.
A lively place with a great atmosphere and view of the mountains. Within walking distance of anywhere and everyone is friendly and kind.
Generally good, can improve on some areas
Overall good but needs some work in areas (inclusion, external campuses and organisation of lectures)
When in halls was great wifi was decent disconnected now and again, clubs great all payed for from AU
The lecturers are amazing, always there to support you
Very good! I’ve had an amazing 3 years here studying.
Bangor University is not only located in a gorgeous part of Wales. But is Home to some of the most supporting people - including university staff, fellow students and members of the community. I have moved over 300 miles away from home and never felt so welcomed. The endless amount of clubs and societies have provided me with the chance to meet friends for life that have the same interest who are not on my course. Bangor University, have so many support networks set up, there is always a listening ear or a helping hand. As a dyslexic student I was worried about falling behind fellow peers, but the dyslexic team and program lectures have made the course easy to understand and supportive. The security team are brilliant! From supporting me in my blond monuments of being locket out, to car troubles. I could not fault them. Campus facilities are above and beyond what I have seen before, from my initial tour on my first visit I was sold. I would recommend Bangor to all.
Bangor university is one of the most beautiful and also give the students to leadership skills and big opportunity to the students to study good environment and also they help the international students any aspect.
My experience at Bangor has been different with COVID restrictions but the staff have gone above and beyond to ensure comfort and wellbeing is prioritised throughout my studies here. The facilities are really useful and up to a great standard. The societies are very inclusive and fun !!
Best study in Bangor university
Really approachable staff who have helped over the last year
As a current student at Bangor University, I can confidently say that this university offers a top-notch learning experience with modern and well-equipped facilities, including spacious lecture theatres and a well-stocked library. The student union is highly active, with over 150 clubs and societies available for students to pursue their interests and make new friends. The careers service is invaluable, offering guidance on CV writing and job searching. With reliable Wi-Fi and readily available IT support, students can access online resources from anywhere on campus. Bangor University prioritises student wellbeing, providing personalised support and promoting mental and physical health. Lecturers and staff foster a friendly and inclusive environment, encouraging students to reach their full potential. Overall, Bangor University provides an ideal setting for students to succeed both academically and personally, and I feel fortunate to study here.
It’s fine. The trouble is different departments seem to be very seperate from eachother, disability support seems to be challenging to access for some courses with no one really knowing the answers
Lovely campus, old buildings but nice and the new buildings are very well equipped. Internet can often be very slow and sometimes problematic.
I’ve enjoyed my experience at bangor university. Despite having some online classes due to Covid 19 the university has always been open for us to attend to study when needed. Now, as we attend lectures in person the facilities they offer accommodate all my needs.
Good campus facilities such as the gym, halls of residence excellent with good wifi connection. There are loads of different clubs and societies available to join so there is something for everyone.
Coming to the end of my second year at Bangor and enjoying every second, made so many new friends and really loving my course. Thinking of applying to do a masters degree also at Bangor which will further enhance my chances of reaching my dream job of becoming a social worker.
I am an international student at Bangor University from Pakistan. Started my journey with this university in January 2023. After joining Bangor University I found myself lucky to study here, having beautiful halls with highly qualified teachers and ICT facilities in classes. Further more helping staff and administration. Everything is so easy that we can discuss any issues through online portal and face to face meetings as well. Delivery of lectures and providing help at every step is so appreciated.
Lots of activities on campus if you know where to look but a small city with the most exciting stuff outside of it.
Lots to do and you always feel that if there is a problem it will get solved pretty quickly. Good facilities and activities.
The uni itself is pretty good however the nursing school support is appalling. Nothing good to say about it at all.
I’m a mature student don’t don’t tend to go to the clubs/societies, or use a lot of the facilities but I know on my welcome week and thereafter I’ve seen loads of things that are really good and available to everyone. Been very happy with the help I’ve received from everyone up to now and how staff in any department are always helpful
An excellent university during face-to-face teaching with a reasonable amount of support. Very good dyslexia support. Less good for online teaching as during this period I felt out of the loop when learning.
Studuying at Bangor has been the most wonderful time I have had in my life when I started my 1st degree in 1990. I came back more than 2 decades to do a PhD and even though a lot has changed it remains a truly teriffic place that I can highly reccomend.
Decent uni experience, clean, lots of societies to join free of charge, studying spaces are good but crowded. Access to wifi throughout the entire uni campus
Very easy campus to work around after a while. Lecturers are all really helpful in all aspects.
Generally a very good university. Had a brilliant undergrad here, however my postgraduate (translation studies) is lacking slightly. The pastoral support are brilliant, as well as the wellbeing service, and the lecturers are all clearly passionate about their areas of study. Overall a good environment and I would recommend the university, even if not my specific course
very small but friendly community with lots of great opportunities in the course
If you're looking for All in one facilities, Bangor University is for you. What I listened and heard about Bangor University at my home country, when I came here all I experienced: first the Location is awesome, Staff is very good, well groomed, experienced and cooperative. University is full equipped with all the modern facilities. And last you'll never feel homesickness here, you'll meet students from all backgrounds and countries. A Proud Bangor Student.
Really enjoyed my time here. The location is beautiful
Overwhelming experience and more than expected at University
Enjoy the events they provide so far
I’ve been at Bangor University for a year now and I have to say the experience has been incredible from the student accommodation to the lectures to the night life.
Nice location with nice people
The campus has good facilities and the societies are varied and free to join!
My experience at Bangor University has been great. My lecturers are supportive and relay information in a concise but understandable manner, the campus is bustling but manages to balance nature and modern structures being close to a woodland but the buildings having keycard access and amazing wi-fi services. Our careers service work at a constant rate throughout the year to help promote available internships and opportunities to students and the SU has year round events to keep every student balancing work and social life.
Bangor has been a very welcoming and efficient when considering the help/services that are available to students and I am glad that I choose to study here .
Bangor University is a beautiful place to study. I have learned so much about myself during my time here and the support I’ve received along my journey has been second to none.
I always love to study here ...
Decent class sizes. Staff are approachable. online resources are good, learner support is good.
Any issues raised are fixed fairly quickly and there’s so much support available
I have enjoyed being at Bangor University!
Very good university. The best students union and a community.
Bangor University is a good place if you want to take place in various activities. Not only the events happening in town but the societies do plan a fair amount of events to attend. The campus itself is lovely, it is kept clean and has an open/outside gym so you can even have a quick workout. I will highly encourage everyone to at least come here and have a tour to see the opportunities this place hold.
I love Bangor University, the student support is unmatched, the lecturers are amazing, research quality is excellent and the location is amazing. So much better than any big city uni!
Beautiful campus, beautiful area, lovely staff, good learning experience, good teaching facilities etc.
Good university with amazing support systems and a good student experience. Very organised student union with regular events that encourage socialisation
amazing university with many facilities available, if you enjoy exploring/ sightseeing then bangor has many places with great views even the historical building of the uni is great to explore
Bangor university is very friendly for international student.all lecturers are very helpful for students.I like very much Bangor university
Great uni, fab facilities and people on site, lots of things to do and be a part of!
extremely supportive and helpful staff, great university with great facilities
Pretty dang good. Very good societies. Surrounding area is amazing.
Bangor University is a great university and I feel so supported. There are great facilities to help me thrive in my degree and set me up for the future!
Surrounding of university what amazed me most.
Bangor university is an amazing and supporting university which has a range of features which makes it a top choice for many students!
Bangor university gives me all the facilities I need without being special, I am a busy healthcare student that doesn't need to interact much with the wider university however. I think the accomodation services could be organised better and could communicate better
My experience in Bangor has been brilliant situated in North Wales between Snowdonia national park and Anglesey it has been the perfect place to study natural science. With brilliant lecturers and perfect location I would recommend to anyone wanting to study about the environment.
Bangor university has a lot to offer and has great services with tutors and courses
Diverse university that has the best interest in student wellbeing. Lecture halls are impressive and WiFi is always available in the university buildings. Shops and amenities are also close and convenient.
An excellent university in social and academic aspects. There are plenty of facilities to make use of as a student, alongside several societies.
bangor uni is in such a nice place surrounded by views of mountains and the sea. most of the staff are so helpful and answer any questions you have. student union have started many cost of living things such as £2 meals - it’s great!
Bangor has been an inclusive uni that promotes studies alongside being an athlete.
Bangor is a brilliant place to chose as a university. The staff and help is always there if you need anything or have any problems! It’s placed in an ideal place surrounding shops such as food and everyday stuff. Everywhere is walkable and not far from each other and there is a lot of sociable clubs to make new friends and get to know a lot of different people. I’ve made the best decision going to bangor university I enjoy it so much to my course and the outside life as-well! I never want to leave
One of the best university in wales having supportive staff and located between hills and sea.
Fantastic University. Student services are very responsive, the mental health and disability services are quick to reply and point you to the right help.
Bangor University is ideal for those seeking a more quiet University experience. It is a small city surrounded by mountains and beaches and so is perfect for those who enjoy kayaking, mountain climbing or hiking. The halls accommodation is good value for money and there are supermarkets within walking distance. Clubs and societies are free.
I think the student opportunities are great and we couldn’t ask for much more.
This is my masters year (4th year) at Bangor and I can honestly say I am really sad to leave. From the social opportunities with the clubs and societies to the lecturers and campus, these have been the best four years of my life. It was an incredible experience and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
Bangor University has excellent study spaces however the number of computers could be increased as it’s always really busy.
Very good University , thoroughly enjoying my experience here :)
Everything is pretty close together so you don’t waste loads of money on transport. It’s nice to live near the pier and several woodlands where you can go for a stroll if you’re having a bad day. Fairly short bus ride from Snowdonia, too. Great place if you prefer nature/the outdoors rather than big, bustling towns and cities.
Bangor is an amazing university with excellent facilities and a wonderful community of students and staff!
My experience at bangor has been the best, they have and continue to exceed my expectations, i couldnt have imagined a better experience at university
The university is provided with enough things to do. There’s enough facilities that are reliable and open every day. The university is well at communicating about any events for the month
Pleasant staff, most love to help with anything they can help with. The places are easy to find and there is a good map on the Bangor university website to show where everything is
I've had a great experience at Bangor university so far! The staff is amazing and I've met a lot of lecturers that are passionate about the subject and have great methods of teaching. There are a lot of studying spaces which was really helpful for me, especially before the exam period. There are a lot of resources to boost students’ employability, mental health resources, and study aids
Bangor University has helped me improve both my academic skills and my social skills throughout the three years of me being part of the university. I have always been able to access Wifi at any of the facilities on campus. The careers service enabled me to gain contacts in the field that I may have not necessarily been able to gain if I did not have the middle partner of the careers service to help me get in contact with people relevant to my career path. The student union goes above and beyond for the students at the university and I have definitely made the most of the many events they have organised and opportunities and support that has been gained due to them. I have been part of clubs and societies within the university and I have not had a bad experience. An amazing range of things to get involved in and found there to be something for everyone and being able to try anything, no matter of your skill level. The facilities have a good range. However, space can be limiting.
the university is lovely to work in it’s a friendly place and very good learning
The university itself has great support for students
Based in Wrexham, no issues with facilities but no student union or student feel to being based over here.
An amazing university to study at, plenty of clubs and societies to settle in with the university. Lots of information with friendly faces .
The university refuse to acknowledge the lack of study space and how it is insufficient for the size of the uni. The student union are good at providing a voice for the students but it’s difficult when the university refuse to listen. The career service is extremely helpful and a massively underused resource, could do more to promote itself and what it can do
Bangor is great for student support. Overall I would recommend this uni if you love sports and the countryside
