I often use the gym here, which has helped me develop the habit of working out. I often study in the self-study area with my friends. This is a very nice apartment. Besides, we would play table tennis together, and I got to know more people because of that. The washing machine in the apartment also works very well. The drying system here can make the clothes clean and fluffy.

I really like Durham it’s great
really nice,good education for everyone
Love the atmosphere. The college vibe feels really homey.
Nice University, the teachers are very good! The library is also nice.
It’s lovely. More outdoor spaces for socialising.
The main campus lacks outdoor spaces to hang out during the time between classes, and the indoor spaces are always all very crowded.
It’s a fantastic university because people here are far more involved, far more alive than anywhere else I’ve been
Great team of staffs. Makes you feel like home.
The school is very friendly to students. Then the atmosphere in each college is very nice.
Good university, everything is close by
Very good it’s a pleasure to be in the university of Durham
The theater scene is especially amazing
Durham’s wifi is the best wifi I have ever used

Great university facilities (especially the new business school) except the Student Union. It’s just bad…
Goes smooth and no interruptions.
Love the college! Great faculties and facilities. xx
A great university! Recommend everyone!

Really great very good staff caring about students
Overall, I think everything is good and I love it all however, I wish the career service could me more like I wish there are more session about how to apply for the job and session like to strengthen our employability.
I love staffs in DC. They are nice and helpful
reception is lovely, amenities are great
Good learning environment and educational setting.
The university is very beautiful, professors are always great and helpful.
very nice。the accommodation is very good and quiet.
Very good! the reception is very welcomed and the environment is very quiet
. The location is excellent—only a few minutes’ walk to campus and close to shops and cafés. The property management team is generally responsive and helpful, although maintenance can sometimes take a bit longer than expected. The common areas are great for studying and socialising, and I’ve met a lot of new people through the building’s events. The only downside is that the cleaning could be more consistent, but overall it’s been a positive experience and good value for the price. I would definitely recommend it to other students.
Love it!! Teachers are all very supportive and helpful.
Amazing facilities and student vibes in Durham University and the community here is fantastic!
I’m loving the Durham experience, the staff is very supportive and helpful
Overall a good place: safe environment, solid teaching quality, and well-equipped facilities.
I'm happy overall, but the SU and societies leave a lot to be desired
some good teaching staff with passion
This is the best accommodation to live in Durham. The staffs are so friendly and dedicated. The flat is cozzy and I love the way they arrange everything here
Haven’t heard anything about careers really. Great school, not really a fan of the teaching style. People are all great, just be careful in Gilesgate after 10 as some residents are a bit aggressive when drunk.
Nice university and wonderful people
Great Uni. Great support in any shape or form. Sports facilities are amazing. Community feeling is great even for introverts
pretty good i cant lie, no major complaints!
not bad. If the internet can be more stable, it will be better
Should we consider induction courses online for international students before arriving.
A very diverse and inclusive environment
Love the uni so much, it is the perfect place for students
I'm still new so I haven't had much time to use some of these (like the careers service) and even with the societies being good it is still is a bit hard to make friends that transcend those spaces, even if I'm talking to people.
nice people, wonderful colleges, beautiful campus, caring professors! I love Durham university. It broaden my perspective.
It's a well organised university that clearly is good at what it does.
The accommodation environment is very good. Whether it is the bedroom or the kitchen, the facilities and decoration are very surprising to me, and the geographical location is also very good. There are many indications nearby, and life is convenient. For me, the living experience is very satisfactory.
It’s an excellent experience to live at Ernest Place. I highly recommend it. Everyone at Durham must consider living here. The reception staff is also really helpful and provide a safe, secure and comfortable environment. They provide world class facilities including the sky lounge, dining rooms, cinema, gym and sauna.
Good university, i had issues with my accommodation but student support help me
Theres a lot of walking but the timetable makes it so that the buildings are all relatively close to each other.
Wifi is unreliable, so is heating. The maintenance form does not work or is not responsive.
Good experience with good subject choices and relatively ok social setting
This is a great place to study. From the academic quality, the city itself and the lovely people
Just a delight to be here and socialise, great people and very supportive professors.
No complaints whatsoever! I have been loving it here!
Looking back at my years at Durham University, my heart is filled with nothing but gratitude and joy. Durham, though a petite city, offered me a tranquil and picturesque backdrop for some of the best years of my life. The most precious treasures I'm taking away are the connections forged here. From study sessions in the library with friends from all corners of the world to chaotic yet fun cooking experiments with my flatmates, we embraced cultural shocks and built a foundation of genuine friendship. Beyond the campus, the kindness of the local people made Durham feel like a second home. I still vividly remember an elderly gentleman who saw our confusion at a bus stop, came over without hesitation, and kindly demonstrated how to use the bus system—twice! That moment of pure warmth encapsulates the spirit of Durham for me. It's a truly special place where you grow, learn, and feel profoundly welcomed.
You will have an excellent experience in the university.
Wonderful! The environment is excellent, the location is convenient, and it is very safe.
During freshers there were 2 days of societies and sports clubs ( DU teams are a bit on the unfriendly side ) but college sports teams are very friendly. Many many to choose from . Uni buildings are modern and well equipped . Library is very well equipped and sports facilities are very good. Lots of opportunities from career services too , you can tell the uni likes to get people involved
Very pleased with my overall university experience - especially in and out of college societies to meet a range of people
fantastic, great sports facilities
very cozy knit community - very warm and welcoming!
I've never really got involved with the SU but everything else has been pretty top notch. I never walked into a building and thought it wasn't fit-for-purpose. There's always plenty of events on and things to do.
Great wifi, bad support. SU looks horribke
Wifi is always really strong, but the buildings and facilities can be a little old or run down. The SU has very little activity, most things happen through the college systems.
This university is organizationally below any reasonable standard and should be avoided. Any communication is almost impossible, they often send mistaken information and don't bother correcting it (if they send it in the first place) and there is no standard for online material, meaning if you get ill and miss a class - you're screwed. This is in addition to them trying to milk you out of cash at every point while "forgetting to pay" their student employees. This is not a serious place, avoid.
My first 2 years at Durham University have been great!!! I’ve really enjoyed the format and modules in my course (Maths) . Between lectures especially in 2nd year I’ve made use of the nice atmosphere to work in at TLC and Billy B. In 2nd year I also had a membership at the Fitness Centre at MC, which had every form of equipment I wanted to use, and always had a treadmill free. I love the mix of campus and city vibe of Durham, even though Durham is a city uni, everything is so close together that it feels like a campus uni.
Really lovely people in a beautiful area
Durham is full of opportunities, from societies and fashion shows to the chance to pursue internships abroad.
Very good university, however they could be more pressing on summer internships and how important securing a job while still at university is. The only university I know to be good at this is LSE
Durham is an amazing institution with wonderful professors that are enthusiastic and passionate.
Everyone who has studied at Durham loves this university and the city.
The staff was always friendly and supportive, which made the experience even better. The location is excellent, with everything you need close by. I also really appreciated the modern design of the building, which created a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, a great place to stay and study.
I thoroughly enjoy Durham's campus. I am based within the geography department, which has great facilities and opportunities. Overall the university has a very positive ethos and is a nice place for students to attend.
Quite a nice Uni. Honoured to be a student here. Nice teachers and schoolmates here
The environment is great. There are often staff on duty until the evening. It is very safe. The front desk staff are very nice, especially Jenny. I am very grateful that she has helped me a lot.
This school has a beautiful overall environment, a strong learning atmosphere, and complete facilities, providing students with excellent conditions for study and life. The teachers are all very responsible, professional in teaching, patient and meticulous, and can offer students a lot of guidance and help. The school staff are also very enthusiastic, making people feel very warm. Overall, it is a very trustworthy and recommended school.
Nice uni tbh, had all my degrees here
Great place to learn and socialise!
The great college in Durham!!!
It’s a very nice and quiet place to learn and pursue your degree
Durham University has been an amazing place to study as an international student. The campus is beautiful, well-equipped, and really inspires learning. The Students’ Union is vibrant and full of opportunities to get involved — I met so many friends through their events. The Careers Service is outstanding and provided me with great support when applying for internships. Wifi was consistently reliable across campus, which made both study and downtime smooth. I also appreciated the range of clubs and societies — there’s something for everyone! Overall, I’m really glad I chose Durham University
Durham University is an excellent institution, both academically and in terms of overall student experience. The lecturers are knowledgeable and genuinely care about their students. One of the highlights of studying here is the wide variety of student activities – from clubs and sports to social and cultural events. There are plenty of opportunities to grow beyond academics and to make friends from all over the world. It’s a great university for both learning and enjoying student life.
Lee and I looked at videos of RC cars on my phone and it was proper fun
The school teachers are very good-level and enthusiastically help me solve my learning problems. The friends I met were also very friendly. I had a great experience of studying.
very good fecility. Good management
3 years in Durham, I have enjoyed it thoroughly. Not been involved with the SU but the range of societies is great and I’ve enjoyed the time here
A cool place to study and living
Abundant experience and activities
