Studying at BCU has been a transformative experience. As an international student, I was nervous about adapting to a new academic culture, but the support here has been exceptional. The staff are approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in student success. What stands out most is the university’s commitment to inclusivity and personal growth. I’ve been encouraged to explore my research direction with flexibility and guidance, which has helped me build confidence and clarity. The learning environment is warm, diverse, and intellectually stimulating. BCU doesn’t just teach—it empowers. I’ve grown not only as a researcher but as a communicator, mentor, and future contributor to society. I’m proud to be part of a university that values kindness, resilience, and real-world impact.

It’s really good and fun and I enjoy a lot
It’s is very good the staff are nice
It’s a good university with some talented staff and students. The hires and loans enable students to get their hands on industry equipment and there’s additional support for my course from technicians who have expertise in areas like cameras, editing and radio.
Good university, very enjoyable experiences
Good university, good student union
As a member of RBC rather than BCU, I don't interact as much with their societies etc. However they are there and they seem good
The campus gives you access to several different workshops and tools as an art student, you can visit different buildings and use their facicilities therefore experimenting with mediums you may not have în the past. The staff are friendly and accomodating, they encourage you with your work whilst providing usefulness feedback and constructive critiscism that helps improve your work and find direction în your Project.
University wifi dodgy in certain lecture theatres
The careers team are particularly useful. They are great for checking over a cv and giving you advice on how to improve it as well as providing lots of different resources to look for placement roles.
uni teaching is ok, module + lecturer specific, facilities generally good, needs more seating areas however
Miss home ?, Not a chance ! As an international student, one of my worst fears was the fear of missing my family and friends in a foreign land. All that was immediately put outside form the moment I stepped my feet at the Birmingham International airport. I received a warm reception from the BCU team at the airport who also drove me down to my accommodation free of charge !. They checked on me regularly making sure I was ok. The orientation program with the buddies was top notch ! To be honest, I could go two days without calling home, lol. Why won't you love BCU ?
It is a very modern university with amazing facilities such as different campuses and huge libraries with alot of space to study individually or in groups.
Great university with good facilities and student support
Started offering a lot more support then previous years
I love past 2 year experience in bcu
Pretty decent university I can’t complain
BCU has a variety of degrees and campuses. It has given students free access to botanical gardens which is a nice benefit to find time to be in nature. However it is not very organised in its nursing degree, there are a lot of timetabling issues which has been a consistent problem for the 3 years i have been here. I think they took on too many nursing students, the lecture halls have a hundred people each and changing groups leading to a lack of community
I would say my experience in university is very good and the staff support me when needed
very welcoming experience, easily felt like i was able to fit in
I was very nervous being a disabled mature student who’d been out of education for about 5 years and BCU made the transition so much more smooth and I feel continually supported by my lecturers, seminar leads and tutor. Furthermore all resources are very accessible which is another thing that’s made the transition easier.
Good teaching and excellent experience
A good place for the study and opportunity
Great management and service also great location
A nice and easy enrolment process.
As an international student, Birmingham City University has been an excellent choice. The combination of supportive services, a diverse and friendly student community, and modern facilities has made my experience both rewarding and enjoyable. I’d recommend BCU to anyone looking for a well-rounded university experience in the UK.
Overall, great university. With amazing teachers and people to interact with. However, as a first year still trying to settle and understand how things work.
From my first day all of the staff were friendly and available. The system working the university is efficient and the student support team have been great. The food on campus is affordable and they do regular fun activities which is quite motivating. My course itself is very laid back and the timetables seem to be very well spread out without an overwhelming number of hours.
I like my university it's better than others and the staff is nice as well.
It’s a good university with a variety of different courses. There’s load of services available to help students and better their experience.
I really like my university and will be gutted to graduate soon. They provide me with excellent facilities to study hard and maintain my first class throughout the years.

I’m currently studying Accounting and Finance at Birmingham City University’s main campus, and it’s been a fantastic experience. The course is well-structured, and the lecturers are knowledgeable and supportive. The campus is modern and centrally located, making it convenient for commuting and accessing city amenities. The Wi-Fi on campus is generally reliable, which is essential for my studies. BCU offers excellent support services. The Careers+ team provides valuable assistance with career planning, job searches, CV writing, and interview preparation. The Students’ Union is active and offers a wide range of societies and events, making it easy to get involved and meet new people. Overall, I highly recommend BCU to anyone considering a degree in Accounting and Finance.

A personal review giving about the university environment is good, peaceful and enjoyable
I am a public health student at Birmingham City University. BCU has one of the best education systems specially for international student. they understand the needs of student coming from developing countries.
Great campus facilities and study areas. The library and laptop loan services are fantastic. Professors are welcoming and helpful. I would have liked more outside and exterior campus facilities and areas to study.
As a first year student in Birmingham City University, I would like to admit that I would honestly recommend this university to anyone looking for quality education, reliable WiFi, career support, quality and easily accessible facilities and an inclusive environment, to mention a few. Not to leave behind the monitoring, guidance, regular check-ins and support given to
Very nice campus for students with excellent faith space facilities
The library has outstanding facilities and resources, and it has both a quiet space and a collective space. The classes have a small ratio of teachers to students, which makes students active and engaged. The outdoor park outside of University is peaceful and beautiful to relax during the summer or break time. The students' union and careers service are devoted and dedicated to enhancing students' experiences. The lecturers have strong debate skills and effective teaching style.
Very nice campus, career meetings are good WiFi normally amazing but more information should be given about societies
foods alright and there is good seating but there is a lack of faculty support
BCU is great the teachers are fantasic and i am in second year loving it
All the things pretty much perfect but wifi mainly get disconnected after some time
This university is amazing at providing facilities for student to use to engage in active learning, I love the building design it looks so Morden and elegant

Very good experience as a international student.
The university seems good, but definitely needs to manage timetables and the assessment process for medical engineering students. Administrators need to add more lectures to accommodate student queries.
