Best Hall in St Andrews, has the most personality and community spirit in town.
Regs is amazing, the community is so lovely and social. The wardens are super friendly, food is good for the price - some self catered halls are more expensive than regs! - and the community spirit is perfect. Love love love.
Simply the best hall in St Andrews!
Fantastic hall. Great atmosphere and people.
I love love love love love love love this place!!
Worst living experience I have ever had the misfortune to endure. The staff are rude, especially the 'catering' staff. I went to a boarding school where there were much more students eating three meals a day 7 days a week (less meals than are served in this hall) and the quality of food was much higher. Eating healthily was a real struggle in this hall - the salad bar often had rotten fruit and wilting veg and the hot options were all potato-based (the healthy option usually being a potato). The catering team were very hostile when responding to constructive and polite suggestions, particularly surrounding introducing foods that other halls had as standard. The cleaning staff were lovely on the whole, and the rooms were kept clean, but the hall management team were horrifically bad. The hall manciple was very rude. The common room was, for the first half of my year in the hall, a bedroom - hence the low rating for common room / social spaces.
Regs is absolutely the best hall! Such a great community with one of the highest returner rates in the university because it's so great nobody wants to leave! So many lovely people, so close to town, so much common space. Great staff too.
Great facilities. The small hall with few food selection. Great people
It was one of the only halls I hadn't heard of before starting at St Andrews, but it's definitely one of the best! I shared a room, and the hall is standard catered. Got on with pretty much everyone in the hall and had an amazing time! my only complaint would be, like most of the other standard catered halls, the communal kitchens are tiny and it makes it very difficult to cook food for yourself if you want to.
BEST HALL EVER!! No wonder why there is such a high returner rate. Small so great community - everyone knows everyone. Lots of hall spirit, staff friendly, amazing committee, close to town. Legendary Regs parties with lots of FREE alcohol. Did I mention free alcohol? FREE. ALCOHOL. 10/10 would recommend
Regulus hall is the best thing that could have happened to me in St. Andrews. It's the most happy hall and the most high quality.
Regs is best. Couldn't have asked for a better first year experience and made better friends!
Regs has the best hall spirit and sense of community in St Andrews! There are no cliques, there's lots of alcohol (try the punch!) and the highest percentage of returning students of any hall in St Andrews, so there's a great mix of year groups! Add to that a central location at the end of Queen's Gardens and a lovely old building that used to be a 'gentleman's club' and you can see why it's everyone's favourite hall!
Amazing hall, amazing community. Go Regs!
Such great hall spirit, loads of great people. I hear other halls can be a bit b*****, no trace of that here.
Regs is awesome. Many people overlook us since we're a smaller, less well-known hall, but we've got a very strong sense of community. Many students who are now fourth years still have friends in the hall and come back regularly and, as a first year, you have a large network of ex-Regsians you'll meet who will be able to help you if you need it. Regs parties hard as well, so if you're not into that you might have a very different experience, but I love Regs and would live here all four years if I could.
The best part about Regs is the community. Everyone is so friendly and always down to get to know you. It has enough people that there's always someone new to know, and few enough that you always see your friends around. It doesn't hurt that it's super beautiful as well.
I love Regs!! It is absolutely AMAZING!
Right in the centre of town! Everyone in Regs knows everyone in Regs!
If you can afford then go for it. Best place to meet friends for life.
