Q&A
Hello,
The kitchen comes with all white goods (fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster etc), and students are required to bring their own kitchenware such as pots and pans, dishware and crockery etc. The Free Shop at Endcliffe on Sunday 17 September is a great way to pick up any kitchen items you may have forgotten, so we highly recommend heading over to check it out.

Main problem is, it's too hot. In winter it was 22-25 degrees C and summer 25-30, usually 27. Couldn't study or sleep properly so wouldn't recommend unless you come from a hot country. They couldn't cool it down. There was an uninsulated hot water pipe running through my room which took months to get insulated and lots of chasing. When it was, it reduced the temperature by 2 degrees, not enough to make it bearable. Bring a fan I suggest. It's the bargain basement budget option with a small kitchen for 5 and only 1 small fridge and a fridge freezer (not enough). No social spaces (other than kitchen) in the flat or building, have to go to the main common room at the Edge across the field. Shared shower and 2 toilets. Noisy at night with the window open but quiet during the day. Smallish room but I've seen smaller for more money in other blocks. Oh, and the main bins are placed right outside the front entrance which stinks every time you go in and leave the place!

ok
Had a great time during my year in Crescent, a lot of the time was spent with flat mates joking about how s*** it is compared to the rest of Endcliffe however that doesn't take away from the fact that there's everything you need there (well, except maybe a sofa). The social experience has been very good and it was easy to make friends with other flats. The rooms are bigger than those in the main part of Endcliffe although this may be due to the lack of an en suite, however when you have a flat of five people with two toilets there's never any waiting. The cleaners, who come once a fortnight, do a great job cleaning up our kitchen after some rather messy pre drinking sessions. Overall it's definitely value for money when you consider how much everyone else pays in Endcliffe, for £40 a week more all you're getting is a sofa and a toilet, the social life is certainly no different.
Probably the least attractive halls in Endcliffe but it has everything you need and everything works as it should! Most people are friendly but the majority are really quiet.
The most social always with the nicest most down to earth people being the most basic. Don't need anything more expensive really
Living in Crescent flats, I had a brilliant time. That was however, most definitely not due to the accommodation, described by friends as similar to a '1970s social housing block'. The kitchens are absolutely tiny, and there is no living room area. The rooms are a decent size but nothing else is, considering the extortionate rent you pay. Plus side however; security tend not to come around because it's tucked out the way. You'll have a good time in Crescent once you get over how s*** it is.
