Hated benyon, call it the quiet ones - when people were drunk constantly and you werent able to sleep
Considering we’re so close to London, what we pay for what we get is very fair. The surroundings of Benyon are beautifully natural, and you’ll often see birds in the pond and squirrels in the trees. Very fond of the Benyon cat too!
Notgood.........................ahhahahahahahahahaha
Great location and the rooms are pretty decent.
Highly disappointed by the standard of these halls. Kitchens are in desperate need of an update and there is limited areas to socialise. The wet rooms cause damp and as a result I had a silverfish infestation which was not dealt well- forcing me to come home. Overall Benyon hall is substandard and would discourage anyone from applying for them.
Benyon hall is nice from my experience. It's roughly a 15 minute walk away from the Whiteknights uni campus, which at least wakes you up every morning. The area has a pond and JCR hut next to it and is pretty friendly. Wifi is quite good and value for money isn't bad. I've enjoyed my time at the halls. The bedrooms are a reasonable size with a good amount of storage. The bathroom could be better, so best to check the hall out yourself and see if it's up to your standards. Overall, cleaning by staff was always done perfectly every week in the kitchen and the freshers week was amazing at Benyon! I would recommend coming to Benyon hall since it really is a good hall. It's definitely not luxurious or a premium hall like stent on but has a nice atmosphere always here.
Poor and need improvement and shouldn't be classed as on campus living as its not
The rooms are fairly modern, and the en suites are nice. It depends on your block but I had a good social experience. But the North Court Bar is poor.
The halls are pretty good and nice to share with only 5 others
The geese are like Marmite, you either learn to love them or see them as the devil's spawn...
Quite nice. Not far from the main campus. Close to shops e.g.today's local, cost cutter
It's not as bad as people say it is
Great community feel - lovely outside area too
All in all a good hall, a bit expensive, but the rooms are better than in some other halls.
So happy I chose this hall! Bathrooms are ensuite which is great, kitchen is large and room has multiple plug sockets which are very handy! Halls team come to sort out problems very quickly and the jcr is a fantastic communal space that we use regularly to watch tv and socialise.
Really great halls! Enjoyed my time! Worth every penny.
very quiet (perfect for second years)
The wet room ruins the modern look of the actual bedroom. It is furnished nicely. The kitchen is OK but is a bit old. Cookers are ancient. Socially there is noone about as opposed to halls on campus where there is a much better atmosphere. Only social spot is the small JCR hut which is 95% of the time empty. For what you pay for, you could get much better halls at reading such as mccombie.
Nice place, away from the hubbub of main campus, so there's peace and quiet when you want it! However, not so far away that the walk in every day is a nightmare!
Not the best halls. The surrounding location is lovely but the walk to the law building and other on campus halls does get tedious at times but still isn't too much to deal with
If you're after a social hall Benyon isn't the place for that, though there is a communal room you're able to use no one goes there and the JCR I had poorly organised any kind of event they put on. For the price you pay you would expect to not have millions of silverfish in literally every room, only good things about Benyon is the location is lovely and green and it's less than a 3 min walk to greggs.
Perfect if you want a chilled green area, slightly more private location and extremely close to shops and campus
Just seems really expensive for what you get. The en suite bathrooms are really tiny and a little bit dirty.
Feels to far away from uni. Room full of silverfish and the shower floor is basically the whole ensuite floor. The water gets all over the bathroom floor and it's annoying. Warden is way too strict on small things as well.
The JCR is awful and I've never been in the social area but it's quite nice to be a little bit off campus but not too much
Very Green and set in a lovely area great been close to shops and everyone is friendly
There is never going to be a 'perfect' hall of residence. Benyon has clean, fairly modern rooms, with a wet room ensuite, which I like. The kitchen is good size with enough storage and space to do general kitchen things. There needs to be more common areas to socialise, although the hut is rather nice. The geese are terrifying but cool. Security is good.
Amazing standard. Great rooms, great kitchen. No social area within blocks, eg no sofas or any social spaces. Common room was just never used, not sure why.
