Saint Marks is a clean, modern, and well kept Residence for international students. The people here both make and break your experience, however. Staff are generally excellent, the issue lies in the residents of the complex. If you are a remotely mature student, who has lived on their own or appreciates peace of mind, this IS NOT the residence for you. While I enjoy the multicultural setting, manners and communal hygiene will not necessarily exist in your shared hall. The Chinese students here are especially rude and unpleasant. I have personally had to throw away rotten food, put out grease fires, remove aluminum foil from the microwave, and fix a broken vacuum all from Chinese students who create these problems and leave them for someone else to solve. I have personally saved my block from burning down by putting out a grease fire which the student, who barely spoke English, had started and deemed "not her fault". Westerners and adults AVOID AVOID AVOID

I am an international student, doing my MSc of Chemical engineering. The first thing that made me choose St Mark's is being so close from my college (just 3 mins walking). When it comes to facilities, I would say its better than I expected, everything is available: washing machine, dryer, cleaning service, and staff are really helpful. Even when we had our hob and washing machines wasted, they were replaced completely for free, we weren't charged for any repairing costs. I LOVED IT.

As a resident of St. Mark's for just 2 months: 1. Rooms, facilities: - The premium en-suite room is really spacious. - The common area is well-arranged and also spacious - When the room was allocated to me, the bathroom was NOT clean. Tiles and floor were stained. Then after they inspected my room, they expect you to take off the stains. - Some of the appliances in the kitchen are broken or problematic (example: broken refrigerator shelf, problematic microwave, some settings of the washing machine arent working, problematic iron) - Even when these things were reported, they didn't fix them or replace them. 2. THE SECURITY AND SUB-WARDENS DO NOT DO THEIR JOBS AND ARE IMPOLITE!!!! (IMPORTANT: My flatmates and I had a frightening experience. We called the security EMERGENCY hotline and they were not answering!!! Finally when they answered, they didnt even apologize and they just said they dont know why they didnt answer?!!!!!) 3. REALLY NOISY ENVIRONMENT

Service supervisors - friendly and efficient, but useless warden/subwardens. The accommodation managers do not reply when contacted
