I have loved living at East Shore this year. The staff are very friendly and approachable and put a lot of hard work and effort into their job. There are lots of events that happen throughout the year, including lots of events involving free food, which is always good! The rooms are modern with plenty of storage space - it is definitely luxury student accommodation!
East shore is located right off of East Sands beach and the Fife coastal path which is wonderful for walks and swims. There is also a nice communal room that has board games and a foosball table. It is a bit of a walk into town (about 20 minutes) but the walk is beautiful since it’s along the coast. Lauren has been wonderfully kind and attentive at reception, especially during Covid times. Neil had also been a great help with maintenance and ensuring any issues with our flat appliances are fixed or replaced in an efficient manner. My only ‘complaint’ about the accommodation is that the connection for phone service and calls can be frustrating. Usually the wifi is very reliable for my computer but a tad spotty on my phone. Overall, I have had a very positive experience at East Shore!
I have lived in East Shore this year and I've rebooked for next year too! The location really is the best thing about this property - you're right next to the sea, and the view never fails to make your day! The rooms are spacious and we have not had any issues with the kitchen/social spaces, and if there are any issues, then Pammy and the team are always really friendly and happy to help. The only downside is the laundry, it is run by Circuit and is over £5 for a wash and dry cycle. I would definitely recommend East Shore to students looking for modern accommodation in a lovely location!
location right next to the beach which is beautiful, however, very bad wifi and some very unfriendly staff
I often think about how fortunate I am to be studying here - frankly, I feel as though I have come on a year-long seaside getaway. East Shore boasts a sandy beach on its doorstep which is complete with a coastal path, a cheese toasty bar and plenty of dogs. Picture daily strolls on the beach, picnics with friends and film nights in the large communal kitchen. The living spaces are modern, comfortable and well-maintained, and the staff very friendly and eager to help. A few people report having issues with the WiFi, though I've never personally experienced any difficulties. It'll be a wrench to leave at the end of my course, but at least I'll be doing so having made friends for life from all over the world.
I’m currently staying in the post grad house and my room is bigger than most which is amazing. The building is quite new and my room was very clean when I came in. Although there hasn’t been much of a social life due to the pandemic, household activities are encouraged. East Shore is rightly positioned right by the sea side, so one could take long walks/ jogs by the sea, it’s also close to the shops (Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, Aldi and M&S food outlet). It’s also situated close to the University. I chose East Shore because it was cheaper compared to university en suit accommodations and my experience now is that it is value for money. I would recommend East Shore Students Accommodation to anyone looking for student accommodation at St Andrews.
East Shore is a lovely accommodation with a great location right by the beach. The rooms are nice and have a lot of capacity for storage. The kitchen is massive which made it perfect for socialising before lockdown. The wifi is incredibly reliable, especially given how necessary speedy wifi is during online learning.
When I was accepted to university, it was a bit of a surprise! I had to rush to find accommodation at the last minute and favourably East Shore was offering a great deal and easy application process. Cheaper than the halls you will find with University accommodation and, alongside the wonderful on-site staff, situated a short walk from local shops and town- it really is the best! I love my room and enjoy the communal aspect of the kitchen and lounge. Being so close to the sea is fantastic too! The staff are very welcoming and will be available most hours of the day to answer any questions or help you settle in better. There is an option to apply independently or as a group which I love! It means I get to rebook with my friends, living in private accommodation but with the feeling of being around students in halls (minus the downsides of halls! haha)
East Shore is such a wonderful property to live in. Having lived in four student accommodations, this one is by far my favorite due to the excellent location, the spacious kitchen and lounge area, and the management staff who are so kind. They go above and beyond to ensure students are having a great experience here. Despite the pandemic, the 10 person flats ensure that you will never feel alone or isolated. The accommodation is located right next to the beach and there are great places to eat out nearby. The walk to town and the nearest grocery shop takes about 20 minutes, but this is not much of an issue especially as the walk to town is by the beach and extremely scenic. The only issue I have is that the WiFi tends to be slow or cuts out, which can be a nuisance due to all work being online right now. Regardless, living here is fantastic and a once in a lifetime experience due to the beach being your backyard. I would highly recommend living here.
Lovely, new, beach-front property with good sized rooms and living areas. Have been very happy with the service and everything that comes with living in East Shore. Not the closest accommodation to town but beautiful walk so not an issue.
East Shore has been a great place to live in St Andrews. Despite being slightly out of town, you cannot ask for much more with respect to views and location to the sea, which I love! As a first year, I got to meet all new flatmates which was great, and they are great in making sure everything is kept tidy and checking in on you.
I really enjoyed my time in St Andrews thanks to Home for Student East Shore! The common room in the flat is spacious and very bright thanks to the multiple windows. The staff is very nice and always helpful when we have a problem, and the area is always looked after. On top of that, the environment right by the sea is incredible.
My favourite thing about East Shore Accommodation is that it is located just by the sea. Even though it is 20 min from town, it actually is a beautiful walk to town, making it worth the walk each time. Also, it is super easy to get to know other students here. It really feels like a small community which is very different from other halls here is St Andrews.
Excellent place to stay as a student. Well worth it
The staff here are all really helpful whenever I've needed anything and the location is ideal if you fancy popping to the beach, as it is literally about 30 metres away.
Amazing location and helpful staff. En suite is great however showers aren't often hot and the WiFi is terrible. Social experience would be good if theres no lockdown. Social spaces closed off so hard to review. Still very expensive but manageable.
East shore student accommodation is good value for money, with the rooms all being decently sized as well as the kitchen/living space being more than accommodating for all the people in the flat. The location is great being a 1 minute walk to the beach if that. The staff are all lovely and very helpful dealing with any issues rapidly Definitely would recommend
I think the accommodation is very cost-effective, close to the seaside, the scenery is also very good, and the cost performance is very high. Although it's a little far from walking to the supermarket, it's also acceptable.
Great location, super close to the beach for swimming and other leisure purposes. Great mix of students both local and international.
I have loved living at eastshore because it is a great location- especially if you love the beach and water sports. The accommodation is clean and well maintained. The reception is helpful whenever I have needed anything.
From my own experience as well as hearing about other halls in St Andrews, East Shore is by far the best student halls in St Andrews. In terms of value for money, it is very good, great sized rooms, large kitchens and communal areas. With it being right on the beach front, you can always catch incredible sunrises, as well as East Sands being favourably chosen for social events for students during the warmer months. Property management are extremely welcoming, kind and helpful, whether that be through regular goodie bags, social events or raffles, they’re always making sure students are happy at the accommodation. Maintenance is very good also, the vast, vast majority of issues are fixed on the day almost immediately, communal areas and courtyards are also kept extremely tidy and well presented. Internet is also never an issue, can expect around 70/80 mbps most of the time. Overall, undergrad or postgrad, I could not recommend East Shore more.
Lovely accommodation in a really gorgeous location. Only 15 minute walk into the centre of town. Staff here have been lovely and very helpful throughout my time here - my flat mates and I have decided to move back in next year! There are however a few issues: the WiFi can be quite temperamental, the bins don’t really get emptied enough (which will have been exacerbated due to the pandemic and people spending more time at home) and the rain is rather loud on the rims of the windows. Would still absolutely recommend.
East Shores, St Andrews: Staff are lovely and helpful with all requests. There is a good number of competition s and games to keep the students engaged. Very impressed with the look and standard of the rooms and will definitely be back!
Despite the pandemic i've loved my time living at East Shore - The location is fantastic, as are the rooms and communal spaces. Everything is clean and well looked after, and any maintenance issues are sorted quickly. Everyone has been really friendly and there's been a good sense of community. One issue is that wifi can be a bit dodgy in your room and occasionally drop out, but when you are connected it is quite fast + the kitchen wifi is pretty good. Slightly further out from town than some others but given how small St Andrews is this basically doesn't matter.
East shores is a lovely place to live, the management team are especially helpful and always there to support you. Along with the location being right on the beach providing amazing views from your window.
East Shore is by far the best accommodation you can find in St Andrews. First, because it is less expensive than the university halls, we have a LOT of space, individual bedrooms with individual bathrooms too and a huge common room with a TV and everything necessary. Then, we have the beach in front of us, which is absolutely wonderful and offers: beautiful sunrises and sunsets, funny bonfires with your friends, and walking by the sea to go to the university. What else? You are in a building with people of your grade, and from flatmates you become a real family. It gives the occasion to meet wonderful people and opportunities to gather together, enjoy moments together ... You are never alone! For the rest, the reception and the people working there are true gems, always here to help, talk or whatever you want... You also have everything for the laundry, the town is 20 mn by walk and buses across the street! On the whole, just go there and live the best time of your life!
Modern accommodation, friendly staff and unique location!
This has been my only accommodation for the 2 years I have been at university so far and I don’t wish to change. The site team are so friendly and accommodating and the location is just perfect! All you could ask for from student accommodation
