Hi. Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that you had a positive experience staying at our Belgrave View Student village.
genuinely just an awful place to live, kitchen has moulding carpet with no ventilation or windows that can be opened. showers dont drain properly so bathrooms often flood and mould grows all up the shower curtain. room wasnt cleaned when i first moved in and looked like it has just been left how the previous owner left it. the kitchen carpet smells awful like its never been cleaned and not replaced in over 20 years. feels like youre going to catch something just standing in there. some flats are more upgraded than others despite them being the same price. DO NOT LIVE HERE!! IT IS HELL!!

Overall good accommodation but the receptionists are sometimes not good. Also the mattress are not good. Common area is average

Hi, Thank you for your review, although we regret to hear that you have not had the best possible experience staying with us at our Belgrave View village.
Worst accommodation in Birmingham, the rudest staff, they do not care at all about the students. The flats are disgusting and outdated. Don’t make the mistake I did and live here just because it’s cheap. The most horrible experience I’ve had in the 3 years I’ve been at uni.

The new staff are appalling, they are very rude to the residents here and stealing residents parcels, when asked for their name, they wouldn’t give.
The accommodation is very expensive for what it is. Bad conditions in most flats as they have only renovated a few that they use to show people. Most things dirty and worn. They have charged students even though they are not living there due to coronavirus. It seems like the people running it at the top are very greedy and are taking advantage of students with not a wide range of accommodation nearby. There is a new accommodation that has opened which is closer to City South campus which looks much better. You have to walk up a steep hill to get to city south campus from belgrave view, it is not very close.
stay here if you like having your food stolen when you’re the only one in the flat for that weekend and have the staff claim that it had to have been your flat mates even though they weren’t even in the city, and then still deny it when the same issue happens to multiple other tenants in separate flats/blocks
Rooms are not true to the pictures, the place is very old and needs refurbishing. Maintenance requests do not get seen to. Security are rude and useless. We had mice in our bedrooms and kitchen and nothing was done about it despite constant complaints. We had carpet lice in our beds, on our walls and on the floor. Reception staff can be very hit and miss, some days they will be lovely, other days rude. You can forget about having a hot shower here, the hot water only works intermittently. Staff would rather spend their time making up excuses or stories instead of dealing with complaints or problems.

Hi, we appreciate your feedback. Students are instructed to follow the maintenance procedure by reporting all issues on the student portal. The maintenance log is then referred to by maintenance staff on a daily basis. Current reports show that all maintenance issues raised on the student portal are rectified within 2 days. Hot water supply is constant, however, if all students are using facilities there may be a short delay of 20 minutes while water supply is re-heated in the apartment hot water tanks. We received our first reports of mice at Belgrave View on 12th March, when maintenance attended the same day to block any holes and provide bait boxes and to inform students to keep the kitchen clean and free from rubbish. Pest Control attended Belgrave view the next day on 13th March to conduct a full survey and confirmed mice were present. As other nearby buildings experienced the same activity, it can be reasonably assumed that this was due to recent works beginning on a new building site opposite Belgrave View. Email communications was sent to affected apartments to inform of pest control visit and that action had been taken and that the area would be monitored daily. Advice on good hygiene standards was provided and if anyone had any questions to contact us. Signage was put up in apartments to inform students what they can do to help. This notice informed students to keep communal kitchens and their own bedrooms clear of food waste and debris. Advice on what to do if the students discover further activity was provided, by reporting to Campus Living Villages via the student portal service; further informing the students that effective pest control requires all parties to work together. We have proposed upgrades throughout Belgrave View during summer 2019, to provide a new and exciting experience for all of our future students. We would like to apologise for the experience you have had and a member of our management team would be happy to discuss this further with you. Please email us at birmingham@clvuk.com
Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is a bit far to university but close to town. The bathrooms are a bit awkward as they are like wetrooms but yoy get used to it. Needs a bit of attention but overall I liked living here

Hi, thanks for your comments. We're glad to hear that you liked our friendly staff in Birmingham, although we're sorry to hear that there was issues with the size of the bathroom. We hope to welcome you again soon.
Location good, lovely staff, just needs an upgrade.

Hi, we appreciate your honest review and we're happy to learn that you enjoyed your stay with us in Belgrave View. We hope to see you again.
Happy with the overall experience. Could do with a refurb. Staff were friendly and was fine for location.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, particularly, the convenient location and friendly staff at Belgrave View. We hope to welcome you again.
I would say go somewhere different if you are looking to come to Belgrave view. The location is terrible, it is so loud as it is on the middleways so constant sirens and road works at stupid times in the morning. Gym has like 3 equipments that are not out of order and all the equipment has been out of order for the whole year I have been here. The security staff are extremely rude, got a written warning from the staff because myself and my friend came in from a night out and we’re“too loud “ but when other people of the same religion as the security are playing loud music from there car in the car park he walks Straight past them. security sleeps on shift so was unable to get in to my flat due to losing my key as he refused to let me in because of losing my key which I pay for? Rooms are small and old fashioned (pictures are catfish). Car park is expensive. It is more like a prison rather than accommodation. Uni walk is 30 mins up a big hill. Only good thing is McDonalds and Aldi close

Hi, thanks for your feedback. Although, we're sorry there has been issues during your stay in Belgrave View. We would like to discuss this issue further with you to ensure we're providing the best experience possible for our residents, please email contact@campuslivingvillages.co.uk
Didnt get a mailbox key and havent had one since we got here in september (it is now April). Washing is expensive. you can only get your parcels when reception is open so you cant get them after 6pm or on weekends. If you go to BCU and are on the south campus its all uphill and its a 30 min walk uphill. Location is okay to get into town

Hi there, we appreciate your review. Although, we're sorry to hear there was issues during your stay with us in Birmingham. We're constantly working towards improving our service, so we would like to discuss this issue further with you. Please email contact@campuslivingvillages.co.uk
Generally okay however would not recommend to anyone would actually suggest going through the hassle of finding a private landlord willing to take on student tenants. Had awful problems that are still on going and not being sorted as they keep being dismissed and the photos on the website are basically a catfish. Care more about your money than your experiences and would not recommend Campus Living Villages as a whole

It's unfortunate that negatives to Belgrave vastly outweigh the positives. The location isn't great since it's 30+ mins away from BCU City South Campus and it is very loud if you aren't higher up the building. However, it is a 20 minute walk to the Bullring and fairly close to Tesco, Aldi & Costcutter for food shopping. The reception and common room area is very modern but unfortunately this doesn't reflect the flats. The rooms and especially the kitchens are very outdated even though the building itself isn't old, there are stains and holes on almost every piece of furniture and some are broken. Also, the shower curtain doesn't reach the floor so prepare for your entire bathroom to get wet every time you have a shower. Since the window only opens a few inches and there is no fan in the bathroom, it is difficult to let the steam out. Most of the staff at reception are friendly and are willing to help but maintenance don't seem put a lot of effort in.

Hi, thank you for providing your feedback. Horrible rooms, horrible staff, expensive car park and bad area

Hello, thank you for your review and we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience of Belgrave View. We take your feedback very seriously. If you would like to discuss this further, please email us at communications@clvuk.com
I have been in this accommodation multiple times and it's either great or horrible depending on what you personally need. If you are a social student this isn't the best place, clubs are far away and social areas are very limited. Otherwise everything else is great, reception staff are very friendly and will help with any issue, the cleaning is superb and the staff with greet you as well, maintenance will do any job though aren't too friendly but they put up with all manner of problems so no issues there, the ISP is very good, speeds are about 60Mb/s or 8MB/s and the staff are very knowledgeable. Lastly it's not too far to either Aldi, Tesco, or either of the universities so I would continue to come here till I graduate .

Thank you for your helpful feedback, we really appreciate it. We are delighted that you were pleased with the service that you received from our onsite team- this feedback will be circulated. The location of the accommodation is very convenient with Aston University only a 30-minute walk away and the University of Birmingham and Birmingham City University only slightly further.
Although Clv is located in a good area in walking distance to both university and bullring the overall experience is not something that would encourage me to re book. The management by staff is very relaxed and do not tend to handle and issues or problems in an effective or professional manor.

Hi thank you for your review. We are very sorry to hear you were not happy with the way our onsite staff handled issues. We would like to discuss this further, please email us at communications@clvuk.com. We can assure you that we take your feedback very seriously and we will do everything we can to ensure the service our staff provide in the future is as good as possible.
The halls could benefit from better kitchen facilities and also update the gym and an overall revamp
They take at least 2 days to complete maintenance request, want to squeeze every penny out of you if something breaks, lose or don't tell you if your parcels arrive/
Good bedroom space and it comes with an ensuite which is a bonus!
Awful place. Great location but the gym is terrible, as is the common room and the rooms themselves are dirty and the furniture is all broken. Stay elsewhere, we had problems in 2015 with multiple flats being broken into so security is very poor!
Basically a last resort accommadation
Room are nice. Maintenance brilliant. Organised activities not so great. Good gym
Value for money is poor. Whilst my flat has got an ensuite thats about all thats great about it. The room has a single bed and is quite small. The common areas aren't great, they aren't very homely and some equipment is dated. However its in a great location for the city centre and University. There is also a gym at clv which is great. Reception staff are usually helpful/friendly.
if your going to Birmingham City university it is a 40 minute walk, it's in a rubbish location which doesn't help socialising as there isn't anything to socialise activities. I would not go again!! Jennens is definitely better or any other halls.
CLV has been good. Its quite expensive compared to other accommodations but your paying for the other services that most halls don't have such as the en-suite and the gym. Happy I chose to stay here. Staff usually friendly and polite and are available at reception 9-5.
