I have a unusual experience due to Covid, but overall I like and enjoy my course. As you progress, it gradually becomes more specialised in the classes you take, based on your own personal interest. Teaching is good, main complaints being where classes had to be cancelled and only recordings could be used (which were questionable quality most of the time) but that can be blamed on Covid. They have advertised plenty about the varied areas students have gone after the course, and even if you aren't sure about focusing on biology, the early years are open enougth to take other course subjects to see if they are intersting, and if you so choose change your degree respectively. read more

As far as facilities go st Andrews is pretty good, however, my experience this far academically speaking is the worst I have ever seen. lecturers have no clear standards as to what coursework should be or contain and give random advice to students. No clear instruction or mark schemes were ever provided and feedback was pretty vague. Some scheduling errors between modules appeared due to miscommunication between coordinators and instead of giving students a chance to attend the modules chosen, they basically forced us to forfeit our choice and take whatever is left no matter how meaningful or useful it will be in the career path we decided to follow. How is it that they can't communicate with each other properly and students are left to pay the price. read more
