Entry requirements are the formal requirements students need to meet to be considered for a place on a university course. But, each year many universities accept students with lower grades. The bar chart below shows the actual UCAS tariff points of students currently on this course.

Required subjects for Medicine (5 years) (Scottish Community Orientated MBChB) MB ChB Hons at University of St Andrews
To include Chemistry and one of Biology, Mathematics or Physics to be taken at the one sitting. If not passed at AS or A-level, applicants must have GCSE Biology, Mathematics and English at grade 5 or grade B (We accept CCEA GCSE grade C* as equivalent to grade 5 in numerical grading.).
In addition, a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 7 or grade A to be taken at one sitting, will be required. Applicants with achieved A Levels, may be considered with fewer than five at grade 7 (grade 7 in numerical grading) at GCSE.
