Love my course and the facilities. Often have to put a lot of money into it even on top of tuition and all of our Salford inspire funds however what we get out of the course is very impressive. Staff put a lot of work into making the course exciting and beneficial for us and are very knowledgeable and successful in industry. Sometimes feel like bits of info are miscommunicated or not all kept in one convenient place and I’m easily confused I need tasks laid out for me.

The course is good and interesting and the teachers are amazing, but it is sooo expensive. You have to pay £150 in studio fees in first and second year and £300 in third year, this covers pattern paper, use of the facilities and threads. You then of course have to pay for all your own materials, books, laptop or iPad etc. There opportunity to do work placement in second year and work closely with a third year whilst your in third year. You have to fund a show in second year as part of a group also. read more

disappointed in this course. took on 100 students, in my year not including other years, when they can’t provide for all. good luck getting a table or a machine in the studio. tutors are hardly any help, each one will tell you sometime different. oh and the inspire fund? scrap that you have to spend it all on the course and in 3rd year £200 of your own money on top of that. it’s a joke, especially when costume design don’t have to pay any extras. i’d reconsider your uni :) you hardly learn anything, you’re told to do things and expected to just get on with it no explanation read more

Great course, lots of 1 to 1 time with lecturers, really prepare you for industry. Only downside is costs of fabric, materials, and a hidden studio fee that you have to pay every year on top of what youre already paying to go to university. read more
