Speech and Language Therapy, Msci Hons FullTime

Speech and Language Therapy at Reading is perfect for international students that are looking for cold weather yet still sunny, near London, diverse community and resources everywhere! The SLT community here is thriving + we get free polo shirts for clinical placements! The seniors are lovely and always happy to help whether it'd be textbooks, notes, assignment advices, you got it! We have an SLT society which ensures its freshers are not lost with anything. Lecturers are kind, encouraging with the right amount of strictness. Our building is near the duck lake hence you get a perfect scenic view right before classes start. There is a demand for speech therapists as communication is a vital part of everyday life and being at Reading to pursue an undergrad degree and a masters for the subsequent year is definitely an added edge. All in all, super happy with this uni. Great vibes overall!

Speech and Language Therapy, Msci Hons FullTime

The Speech and Language Therapy course provided at Reading is known as one of the best in the UK firstly due to its qualification being an integrated master’s (MSci) course which is 4 years. Each year is different with the first covering all aspects of speech and language theory alongside introductions to clinical skills and placements. The first year is so interesting and i’ve really enjoyed learning and experiencing as much as i have. I’m also looking forward to the next 3 years covering paediatrics and adults. The teaching is also great at Reading with lecturers who are passionate about their subject and have been teaching it for years with lots of experience. Also some modules are taught by healthcare professionals themselves who share their knowledge and make the course as a whole very enjoyable. read more

The course content and teaching is up to date and modern, however the value for money sometimes isn’t great as there is very limited teaching, placements or content of any type in the summer term and some modules are taught online even out of covid times. However the course prospects and placements arranged are high quality. read more
