Reading is ranked 6th place for Graphic Design and from what I've seen the rating needs to be higher. Every lecturer is very passionate about what they do and that passion really makes the work we as students produce, much better. We are also usually given opportunities to go to talks, seminars and meetings about Graphic Design so we don't only learn from the university.

Such a fun course to take with a different perspective on graphic design. If you enjoy the typography area of graphic design it will be perfect for you. All tutors I've had so far have been great and helpful - can ask anything or send an email at any point and you will get a quick reply. So many interesting modules, my favourite so far has been brand and persuasion and the end of year one. Coming from college, personally it is quite writing heavy which I wasn't used to but very interesting and informative. So many opportunities to take on jobs while studying with the 'real jobs' course, working with real clients in the industry. Everyone is extremely friendly and social, not only in my year but across all years. My favourite part of the course overall is Baseline Shift, where speakers from the industry will come in a give a presentation about their background and their current work. So interesting to hear from real people in the real world of graphic design. read more

The amazing thing about this course is the real jobs module where we have to work with at least 3 clients that come to the university. Its great expierence for your cv. However this course is not for the faint hearted. There are lectures and seminars everyday and the sheer amount of work is above any other course I talk to. Especially at the end of term we are always very stressed trying to meet deadlines and out of the 40 or so people on the course each year i would say atleast 5 drop out. Only apply if you are definitely wanting to go into graphic design because this course will be perfect for you read more

The art side is what makes my review poor, everything is so vague it makes it difficult to narrow down ideas but then the teachers proceed to mark it yet you dont know what they're marking it based on... it is so silly. however the psychology side is amazing, great content, great lecturers and a nice straightforward goal. read more

Reading is one of the best universities in the world, ranking in the top 1% of world universities. It is an institution held in high regard in the world of industry, research and academia. I loved my time there. It is a vibrant, stimulating community with great facilities in a lovely parkland campus. For those who love tradition, the original city campus, with its cloisters and quadrangles, is still in use. My experience there shaped me for a successful life and career and I'm still in touch with many friends I made there. read more

I'm only a first year, so from what I've done so far, I would say the curriculum of the first year course is restrictive, however it is only to learn the basics.
