The campus is amazing and halls are very clean. We have enough storage in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bathroom is quite basic, but the bedroom has everything you need overall I wouldn’t recommend it. read more

Whilst only in my second academic week at Reading, so far staff and faculty have been friendly and enthusiastic in both teaching and interacting with students. Welcome week was abundant in various activities which helped students make new friends and connect with lecturers. Events such as "Meet the Tutor" introduced students to their designated academic tutor, who provides course-specific information and support regarding aspects of university life such as accommodation and finance. Lectures have been informative, building on College-level information slowly and effectively. Courses and modules are filled with career-related information, explaining possible industries that students could go into, and a placement year between years 2 and 3, are offered for most courses, enabling students to enhance their work experience and build employer connections with university-affiliated business. read more

Reading university has an amazing campus, lots of clubs and socs to join. All the lecturers have been very accomodating and enjoy their craft. I was very reluctant to join university because of the amount of money needed, but after joining I think that its a great experience everyone should go to university and make the most out of there time there. The only thing I would add is maybe being more accomodating to commuting students I feel like a lot of events are extremely late at night and many socities have events 6pm after which can be super difficult for a commuter student to attend to. read more

Overall, I’ve had a good experience at the university. I was pleasantly surprised by how diverse it is, as I expected it to be less diverse before starting. There are people from different backgrounds, which makes student life more interesting and welcoming. I do sometimes wish I had chosen a university with an even greater level of diversity, as that was something that mattered to me. However, the university offers a lot of support to students, and I’ve found staff to be helpful and approachable when I’ve needed guidance. Overall, it’s been a positive experience, with a good balance of support, diversity, and opportunities. read more

I am a mature student, returning to study after a while away from university. Readings approach to everything, the introduction, starting a new course and a new life have been great. They give you a lot of information but let you choose what you want to do with it. It has been great first few weeks. read more

My experience at the University of Reading has been truly amazing so far. From the very beginning, I have felt welcomed, supported, and motivated to achieve my academic and personal goals. The university provides an excellent learning environment, highly supportive staff, modern facilities, and a diverse international community. What I particularly appreciate is the balance between academic learning and practical exposure. The teaching approach encourages students to think independently, develop new skills, share ideas, and prepare confidently for their future careers. Life in Reading, UK, has also been a fantastic experience. Reading is a beautiful, friendly, and well-connected town with a great student atmosphere. There are plenty of opportunities to meet people from different cultures, explore new places, enjoy social activities, and experience British culture and lifestyle. Its excellent transport connections also make it convenient to explore London and other parts of the UK. read more

My experience at the University of Reading has been really good so far! The campus is really pretty and there are lots of nice places to walk around and chill. The lecturers are also really friendly and approachable, which makes lectures feel more enjoyable. I also really like the Student Union, especially on Wednesday nights. Every week is a little different and has its own vibe, which makes it really fun. One of my favourite things is definitely the fruit and vegetable sale every Thursday — I always look forward to it! read more

I started an architecture BSc. The teaching staff often don't reply to emails and set work over holidays and say not to contact them. The expected work means there isn't a work life balance due to impossible expectations and despite being quite academic I couldn't complete course due to impossible expectations. The dictation in 3rd year is to be written over 3 months including Christmas period and new year. This was to be completed whilst doing 2 other modules (of even credit weighting) simultaneously. The university campus and facilities outside of the architecture course were great and I couldn't fault. But avoid the architecture department for sake of the your own mental wellbeing. Despite entry requirements on websites. University of Reading will let anyone in as they are under subscribed. I witnessed a high drop out rate within the architecture course with around 1/4 of students drop out before starting 3rd year. This is only an observation. As I myself had to drop out. read more

It has an abundance of green space and nature which is lovely to have access to throughout the day. The teaching is good and staff always seem happy to help.
