My experience at the University of Kent has been a journey of learning, adjustment, and personal growth. Moving to the UK as an international student was a major step for me, and I was excited to begin my MSc in Clinical Psychology and experience a new academic environment. The university has a welcoming atmosphere, and the campus facilities, library, and study spaces provide a good environment for students. Studying in a new country has given me the opportunity to become more independent, meet people from different backgrounds, and develop both personally and academically. However, my journey has also come with some challenges. The visa process, financial requirements, and arrangements for travelling to the UK made the beginning of my university experience stressful. As an international student, I believe clear communication, timely guidance, and accessible support are particularly important during this transition. read more

As a domestic student coming to the University of Kent after spending my life growing up abroad in Singapore, this uni has made my transition to this new environment so much easier. Being unaware of the culture and general environment, I've felt welcomed from day one and have amazing support systems through the uni in place to support my move into this environment. read more

I have really enjoyed being on campus, especially being a commuter who has to arrive early for parking and remain on site until lectures. The library is an amazing spot to chill with so many resources, along with all the cafes and general study/hangout spots available that ensure any waiting, early rises or late finishes, are comfortable. The greenery and biodiverse atmosphere is also incredible and will be wonderful as the weather gets warmer. read more

The University of Kent is a unique university, in that there is a large international student population. There are many people from all different continents offering different experiences. The campus is good for a UK campus although I do believe that it could use improvement. Some of the services within the uni are run down and the Canterbury bus system isn’t the greatest. I feel for the price of education these days there should be more amenities offered to students. Communication between the university and students could also improve, key example being the recent meningitis outbreak on campus. We were not notified of the outbreak and instead had to find out through videos getting sent around campus. read more

Pleasantly surprised by the support and engagement of various teams across Kent University, especially with the advisors scheme and the careers portal.
