As an international student at the University of Kent, Canterbury, my overall experience has been excellent. The campus and facilities are genuinely outstanding and state-of-the-art, offering great spaces for both study and leisure. There's also an impressive range of clubs and societies to join, which made it easy to find new friends and explore hobbies and interests outside of coursework — something that mattered a lot to me as an international student settling into a new environment. Beyond academics, the Students' Union runs regular, engaging events and the committee genuinely seems to represent student interests well. The careers service has also been consistently helpful, with good communication and useful guidance whenever I've needed it. Add to that reliable, fast wifi across campus for both studying and downtime, and Kent has honestly been a fantastic place to spend my university years — one I'd happily recommend to future students. read more

The campus itself has lots of facilities and support for students. The one thing is that the onsite grocery options are quite expensive (though I'm sure that's similar anywhere). There are so many clubs and societies to choose from- the only downside is that for sports clubs you have to pay the society fee AND a sports membership after 1st year which if you're only visiting once a week or so for the sport can be costly. The SU is good. They put on lots of events and support students well. Careers is a very important thing to Kent and they have a whole dedicated department for it that sends out emails with opportunities. The only thing is that they tell you the interview day the day before (or at least that's what happened to me that left me a little unprepared for my internship interview) The campus uses eduroam and I've had no issues with the WiFi. Signal is a bit patchy though if using data only. read more

As an MSc AI student at Kent, I've found the campus facilities solid for both study and downtime, and the course content genuinely relevant to current industry practice. WiFi and library resources are reliable, which matters a lot when you're deep in coursework or research. The careers service has been helpful for exploring placement and job options, though I'd say the value really comes from being proactive and seeking them out rather than everything being handed to you. Overall, a good environment for postgraduate study, especially if you're motivated to make the most of what's on offer read more

I am blown away by the career service in particular, as it has given me a lot of skills in addition to the skills I learn in lectures. Kent does quite a bit of meetings around employment ( both online and in person) preparing you for the workplace, as-well as having a really great career service team and good job shop opportunities. Outside of employability, I really enjoy the Kent facilities, like the sensory room for those who are neurodivergent, and also the food spots are actually really cheap but tasty! But I definitely have to say the preparation for after the degree is particularly good ! read more

Kent has been a decent experience, I believe this is the sort of uni that you will enjoy if you make the most of it, there are a range of societies that you can choose from I myself chose to join the basketball society and cheer society in my second year of study alongside that was a member of the unis Acs society. The facilities are pretty good with a lot of communal student areas for you and your friends. The university also has a lot of event opportunities to meet people which ranges from clubbing events to social games days which has made the experience pretty enjoyable and feel inclusive. read more

University of Kent

My experience as an international student at the University of Kent has been mixed but generally positive. The campus and facilities were acceptable but could be improved to make student life more comfortable. There is a reasonable selection of clubs and societies, although opportunities for engagement could be more varied. The Students’ Union organizes good events and makes an effort to represent students’ interests. The careers service has been helpful and communicates well when support is needed. One of the strongest aspects of the university is the Wi-Fi, which has been fast and reliable throughout my studies. read more

University of Kent

I've had an amazing time at the University of Kent and wouldn't change it for the world. From day one, the campus blew me away — it's green, spacious, and genuinely beautiful, with great study spaces and social areas dotted around everywhere you look. The teaching quality has been really impressive. My lecturers clearly know their stuff and are passionate about what they teach, which makes even the toughest topics more engaging. Seminars are a great chance to dig deeper and actually discuss ideas, rather than just sit and listen. Canterbury itself is a brilliant city to be a student in — it's got a buzzing high street, loads of great spots to eat and hang out, and it's close enough to London for day trips or weekend adventures. The campus location strikes the perfect balance between a peaceful place to study and easy access to city life. I've met people from all over the world, joined societies I never expected to enjoy, and made friends for life. read more
