Social Work, BA Hons FullTime

The teaching quality is good but our lecturers often go on very offensive tangents. We once had a gender studies session that became very anti-trans with our lecturer arguing that trans women can be predators. This is one of many harmful lectures I've been witness to. My AOS experience has been horrible. I had to change AOS last year because my original AOS was very unempathetic and outright cruel. I successfully reported the behaviour. I had to fight to get a change of AOS, going to my schools head. Pastoral care SHOULD be mandatory for advisor of studies. The social work AOS's are specifically told (I know this cause I've asked them) not to offer pastoral care. read more

My experience has been positive so far. I am only a first year student so my ratings will reflect that. Some lectures are very blunt in their markings, but the course has been extremely engaging and enjoyable so far. read more
