No a bad choice. But the study is really depend on student
Love the study environment here. Strict assessment provided ;(
Good experience! People are kind and nice here
The uni campus itself is lovely, but pastorally it’s not brilliant. There is definitely an issue with classism and a large class divide so if you are coming from a working class background this is definitely something you will notice.
good location,good study atmosphere
good studying experience, my classmates are very helpful and friendly
Study and living in University of Edinburgh is a great journey

Very good, close, accessible, nice people
The living experience is pretty good. There are lots of supermarkets around, and the scenery is gorgeous!
I’m happy to study here with so many peers who are from different backgrounds.
Great location and price. Good staff and value for money won’t regret staying here.
I have loved my time at the University of Edinburgh. The facilities are well-maintained and generally lovely. Staff/lecturers have all been great. An unbelievable number and variety of societies and sports club.
Super nice apartment, the staff. Perfect!
It’s a nice place i also recommend it to my friends who gonna come to University of Edinburgh
The dormitory environment is clean and comfortable, and the roommates get along well. The study atmosphere is strong. The facilities are complete, the management is safe and orderly, and the life is convenient and warm. It is an ideal space for study and life. I am very satisfied with it overall.
是我很喜欢的学校 好的环境 优秀的老师 每天都很自在的学习氛围
With my course the staff have been extremely supporting and kind. It is very flexible to change your degree due to electives which is great if you are unsure what you want to study.
facilities are generally good. Internet connection is sometimes slow, and library is full of students during the period of assignments.
the place is really worth to live in, the location and staff are really nice. The only problem is that the Internet sometimes doesnt work.
I love the stuff and the facilities in here are so good!

i loveeee the unii of edinburghhh
I feel that every thing goes well. For example, receptions help a lot when I decided to rebook.
Our university is awesome and amazing.
Good university with a lot of stuff to do
I think that the university as a whole is very good.
Great university all round. Weather gets tiresome at times though.
Great uni! Here on an exchange.
Good experience so far, I’m happy
Every society is very welcoming and everyone is very nice!
The staff are very friendly, and it feels very safe to live here. I feel at ease staying here.
University is great the only issue with the WiFi is that at times it doesn't work in lectures making it difficult to go through slides. Other than that it's great with a lot of support
A place full of culture and arts
great location and variety of clubs and activities
the combination of ancient and modern times
I'm very happy to have met Evie and Jennifer here. They are all very nice people who helped me a lot in a foreign country.
Overall, my experience at the university has been fantastic, with strong teaching and a supportive environment. However, there could be clearer and more consistent understanding on a case-by-case basis when students are unable to sit exams due to genuine personal circumstances, particularly regarding alternatives to the August resit.
Best support team for international students and flexible learning experience and timetable
As a Master’s student in Biotechnology at the University of Edinburgh, my experience has been extremely positive. The course is well structured, and all modules are explained clearly and in depth. The teaching staff are highly knowledgeable and always make sure that every student understands the concepts, taking time to clarify doubts and encourage questions during and after lectures. What truly stands out is how approachable and supportive the lecturers and tutors are. They are genuinely invested not only in academic progress but also in the overall wellbeing of students. The university places strong emphasis on student support, making it easier to manage both coursework and personal challenges. Overall, the University of Edinburgh provides an excellent learning environment with high academic standards, supportive teaching staff, and a strong focus on student wellbeing. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering a Master’s degree in Biotechnology.
Good but so much work and support is not good
overall good campus!! WiFi a biy slow at times especially during exam season but not much to complain about
The experience here is quite great. You can balance your study and leisure activities in a good way.
Very good location with good price
Good facilities, kind lecturer and interesting courses and events
Large university with plenty of places to study in
Good amenities/facilities for studying
Overall, the university provides a supportive and well-structured learning environment. The teaching is generally engaging, with helpful academic staff and good access to learning resources. Campus facilities are well maintained and convenient to use. While some administrative processes can be slow at times, the overall academic experience is positive and suitable for students from diverse backgrounds.
I have nothing to complain about this university. I appreciate all the staff who make great efforts to improve the studying environment.
Overall, my experience at the University of Edinburgh has been positive. In terms of campus and facilities, the university provides a well-maintained campus centralized in limited Potterrow area if you are a Sociology and Psychology student. I came across many excellent professors and teams, who have support me with sufficient mental health assistance and language skills when my academic performance was not satisfying. The range of clubs and societies is strong. There are many welcoming and well-organised societies catering to a wide variety of interests and hobbies, while I have never joined anyone except peer support and I have too many options to choose from. The Students’ Union is active and visible. It offers regular events, and the committee appears genuinely interested in representing the student body in which they focus on election a lot. Eduoram is strange and I got used to reconnecting at times...(Word limited)
Uni has endless opportunities.
The place is very beautiful. WiFi could be better in some buildings. Wide variety of study spaces
I do love and am satisfied with the university. Needless to say, it is one of the best universities in the world.
All the staff are really nice.
Great opportunities both academic and social.
Great experience, anticipating for more learning and events in the coming year
Okay university, some of the admin isn't great
Studying at the University of Edinburgh has been an enriching experience. The teaching is high-quality, combining lectures, tutorials, and hands-on clinical exposure, while the city itself offers a vibrant cultural and social life that makes student life exciting and engaging.
Excellent employees. The design of the studio room type is particularly good, and there are many storage grids. The sound insulation of the room is very good.
There isn’t as much variety in the societies as other unis but isn’t too much of an inconvenience.
I’m Tori and I stand with students and staff protesting severe, unnecessary budget cuts undermining our education and student experience. Senior management are making £120 million in cuts despite UoE not being in any debt and sitting on a £580 million endowment and £900 million in non-fixed assets. They’ve rapidly cut over 1,000 educational staff and 14 courses students were already enrolled on. This reduces teaching hours, reduces the quality of coursework feedback, and leaves tutorials cancelled or overcrowded. They’ve also slashed PhD budgets and training, removed free period products from multiple locations, and are charging £25 to access some buildings out-of-hours. Principal Mathieson makes these cuts without touching his £421,667 salary or his £1.75 million townhouse owned and maintained by the university. These rapid cuts are all over a projected loss in profits. Do not come to UoE if you care about the quality of your education and student life!
Nice buildings, equipment and libraries
Good decoration and settings! The price is very reasonable!
Although I haven't participated much in the societies and clubs this semester due to being busy with studies and personal matters, I've heard there are various activities. But I think the university's facilities are undoubtedly excellent! Especially the main library; I can always find the books I want, whether electronic or physical, recent publications or older ones. The only drawback is that the water from the toilet faucets is too hot.
Overall good. However, the facility staff can be quite rude at times. I've witnessed many condescending power trips when only a slight correction was needed, really disappointing to see. Additionally the wifi can be a pain but if your own troubleshooting doesnt work, help is there for you.
The University is generally a really welcoming and supportive space to work in and be apart of the student community. There are some issues regarding eduroam's notoriously unreliable and sometimes unstable WiFi connection; this can be disruptive when trying to finish work in our spare time or take notes during lectures. However overall my experiences at the University have been good and the events that are planned do aim to minimise the common challenges faced by new and ongoing university students.
Excellent quality teaching and good facilities. Only in 1st year so can't really ellaborate beyond that, but overall I've found the experience here excellent
Edinburgh is fantastic, both as a city and a university. If you're looking for an endless supply of new, affordable things to do, don't go anywhere else other than Edinburgh. The university is amazing and I couldn't recommend it more.
Overall had a good experience at Edinburgh University
The rooms are modern, clean, and well-maintained, and the facilities, including the communal study areas and laundry room, are always accessible. The on-site management team is friendly and highly responsive to any issues, making the stay hassle-free. While the rent is slightly high, the value for money is justified by the safety, convenience, and quality of the accommodation. I highly recommend it for a comfortable and enjoyable student life.
One of the best universities in the UK. Top class courses and professors.
Great social connections I’ve had no issues with edu roam WiFi but others have
Loving my time here so much. The courses challenge you but you feel supported if you need it
endless oppertunties and great fun
Great. I love it so much, staff are so friendly and courses are interesting
I’ve had an amazing experience at [University Of Edinburgh The professors are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely care about students’ success.
The location is perfect if you go to classes at kb, and it’s close to Cameron toll which makes it super convenient for grocery shopping. The staffs are nice and reliable. Definitely worth the price
Okay facilities, but quality could be better
I've really enjoyed my stay here! My studio is spacious, bright, and very comfortable. It has plenty of storage space, and everything is well designed for student living. The large windows bring in lots of natural light, which makes the room feel even bigger and more pleasant to study or relax in. I also really like the common room; it's a great space to hang out, meet people, or take a break from studying. The facilities overall are excellent and very convenient, and the gym is definitely a plus for keeping an active routine. The building is always clean and quiet, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, it's been a wonderful place to live, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-equipped, and welcoming student accommodation.
It is overall really good! Excellent location, couldn’t be closer to the university if you tried. Really good facilities like a gym and study spaces, really good during exam season.
Very good experience in UoE, teachers and staffs here are all nice and would like to help students.Always have good experiences here as a student.
Silk Mill is a modern, comfortable, and well-located student accommodation with friendly staff, clean facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere for living and studying.
Beautiful campus and a wide range and variety of clubs and societies
I think all of those are good!
nice! Great location and so quiet there
All staffs are very caring and experience here is wonderful
People are nice, there are good facilities, love it.
I absolutely love living here! The location is perfect—just a few minutes from the shopping center and Calton Hill, with lots of convenience stores around. Super safe and super handy. I'm in Block A and the view is amazing—you can actually see Calton Hill from the window! The staff are so nice (the receptionist is super friendly and lovely), and there are always fun events going on. I've joined the movie night and the welcome pizza party, which were great. At the start of the semester, we even got a welcome pack with snacks and tissues, and sometimes reception puts out free treats. Such a nice surprise! Facilities are spot on: common room, gym, cinema, laundry—everything you need. And the best part? There are two adorable cats in the building, which makes it feel even more like home. Honestly, this place is my warm little home in Edinburgh. Couldn't recommend it more!
I’ve had a wonderful experience living in this apartment. The place is clean, comfortable, and very well-maintained. The location is convenient, with easy access to shops, transport, and everything I need. The building is quiet and safe, which makes it feel like home. The landlord/management team is friendly, professional, and always quick to respond whenever I have a question or request. I really appreciate how smooth and stress-free everything has been. Overall, I’m very happy with my stay here and would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a great place to live.
