I've really enjoyed my stay here! My studio is spacious, bright, and very comfortable. It has plenty of storage space, and everything is well designed for student living. The large windows bring in lots of natural light, which makes the room feel even bigger and more pleasant to study or relax in. I also really like the common room; it's a great space to hang out, meet people, or take a break from studying. The facilities overall are excellent and very convenient, and the gym is definitely a plus for keeping an active routine. The building is always clean and quiet, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, it's been a wonderful place to live, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-equipped, and welcoming student accommodation.

Okay facilities, but quality could be better

It is overall really good! Excellent location, couldn’t be closer to the university if you tried. Really good facilities like a gym and study spaces, really good during exam season.
Very good experience in UoE, teachers and staffs here are all nice and would like to help students.Always have good experiences here as a student.
Silk Mill is a modern, comfortable, and well-located student accommodation with friendly staff, clean facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere for living and studying.
Beautiful campus and a wide range and variety of clubs and societies
I think all of those are good!
nice! Great location and so quiet there
All staffs are very caring and experience here is wonderful
People are nice, there are good facilities, love it.
I absolutely love living here! The location is perfect—just a few minutes from the shopping center and Calton Hill, with lots of convenience stores around. Super safe and super handy. I'm in Block A and the view is amazing—you can actually see Calton Hill from the window! The staff are so nice (the receptionist is super friendly and lovely), and there are always fun events going on. I've joined the movie night and the welcome pizza party, which were great. At the start of the semester, we even got a welcome pack with snacks and tissues, and sometimes reception puts out free treats. Such a nice surprise! Facilities are spot on: common room, gym, cinema, laundry—everything you need. And the best part? There are two adorable cats in the building, which makes it feel even more like home. Honestly, this place is my warm little home in Edinburgh. Couldn't recommend it more!
I’ve had a wonderful experience living in this apartment. The place is clean, comfortable, and very well-maintained. The location is convenient, with easy access to shops, transport, and everything I need. The building is quiet and safe, which makes it feel like home. The landlord/management team is friendly, professional, and always quick to respond whenever I have a question or request. I really appreciate how smooth and stress-free everything has been. Overall, I’m very happy with my stay here and would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a great place to live.
I’ve really enjoyed my stay at Gateway Apartments. The property team are always friendly, responsive, and helpful whenever I need assistance. The building and facilities are kept very clean and well-maintained, which makes daily life much more comfortable. I also love the lovely cat here — it really brightens up the atmosphere and makes the place feel even more like home. Overall, it’s been a great experience living here and I would definitely recommend Gateway Apartments to other students.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in societies, events, and student activities, which makes it easy to meet people and feel part of the community. The city of Edinburgh itself is amazing, safe, student-friendly, and full of culture.
I’ve really enjoyed my stay here! The location is very convenient, with easy access to everything I need (shopping centers, restaurants, grocery stores and a railway station). The staff are always friendly, approachable, and quick to help with any questions. The facilities are well-maintained and make everyday living really comfortable. I also love the interesting events that are organised—they’re a great way to meet new people and feel part of the community. Overall, it’s been a fantastic experience and I’d happily recommend this accommodation to anyone!
First of all, the location is excellent, close to the shopping mall and the city center, and can be reached on foot. Moreover, the apartment is close to the main street, making it very safe to go home at night. The surrounding area is all residential, so it's very quiet. The property management of the apartment is very thorough. Every time a problem is reported, it is resolved very quickly. Even once, when I reported a malfunction in the morning, a staff member came to repair it in the afternoon. All the facilities in the room are very new and it's very comfortable to live in. Special thanks to john and shana. Both staff members are very enthusiastic. No matter what questions you have, as long as you find them, they will answer you warmly. I'm very grateful to them. They have relieved a lot of my anxiety and fear of coming to a foreign country
Gateway Accommodation is an excellent choice for both short- and long-term stays. It offers great value for money, with spacious rooms that provide comfort and convenience. The rooms in A Block are particularly pleasant, with excellent natural lighting and lovely window views. The location is another highlight—situated near Princes Street and Carlton Hill, it is surrounded by convenient facilities and plenty of shopping options. The walking distance to Old College is also quite manageable. Maintenance requests are handled promptly, and the reception staff are always warm and welcoming, which makes the overall experience very enjoyable.
nice to study here live here, evreything is good
It is a nice place! I love here
It is so good. Everyone here is patient, especially Alma and James.
I am very impressed by the level of professionalism Katie and Joy and the team show. I’ve stayed in many accommodations before, but I’ve never experienced this degree of care and responsibility. I’m truly grateful for the excellent service.
The living environment here is excellent, and it’s very close to the campus where I have my classes. The staff are all very friendly, and any questions or issues I raise are resolved quickly.
i love going on my campus - the toilets are always clean and stocked, the study spaces available are beautiful, there is always staff available to help. there are also many workshops or experiences available, like pet therapy.
Overall the university has been great. I was helped loads after I had a TBI and they helped me get back on my feet and helped me get through the year
Great university facilities; I would prefer if career services and internship opportunities were advertised more effectively.
Great law school with gorgeous facilities and good lecturers. Went there for an LLM so there were few lectures to attend weekly and much to read and work on at home in order to prepare for class and make the most of it. It worked perfectly fine for me, as it allowed me to organise my time as I saw fit and do my hobbies on the side. Heavy workload though, but I absolutely loved my LLM :)
Canal point is really a safe and worm place for me to live in. The staff there are really nice and omnipotent (they can make delicious hamburgers, make yummy popcorns and so on…). Brilliant!!!!!!!
Very nice student accommodation
Great accomodation, great staff and would recommend to my friends back home
Best Edinburgh! Best university! Lovely staff numbers and classmates
I really enjoy studying at the University of Edinburgh, as there is so much to do and see.
Amazing university! I was staying at the Informatics Forum, great space, lots of activities and research! 100% recommend :)
Good City, but Uni may have some pressures in academic life.
Great University! I loved my course
Very positive experience with this University. Found the student support to be exceptional.
The university provides excellent teaching and diverse approaches to different knowledge. The staff are helpful.
Great experience so far. Great location
It is a good apartment, believe me. The environment is very good and convenient to get to Kings building. The staffs are very friendly and helpful, you can easily get help from them. The cost of living is not expensive comparing with other places.
I feel very fortunate to have found such a nice student accommodation to live in for the past year. The rooms feel spacious and clean, and the location is very ideal for convenience. It is a 10 minute walk to campus and to a large shopping mall with 2 grocery stores. It is also a 2 minute walk to the bus stop that has 4 buses taking you to directly to city centre. The staff are also super friendly and helpful, especially Jennifer. She always made me feel welcome from the start. Thanks y'all for a great year, highly recommend!
very good univeristy, have diverse societys and good teaching team
best best of the best in the Edinburgh.
No complaints, good experience overall
Generally okay, still have something to improve

Good university with quality teaching and a fun student life.
I've found my own place here and the services I've interacted with are great
Great location in the heart of the city, great lecturers and staff. Careers support could be better.

Nice staff, brilliant event. It is such a wonderful experience living here
Quite good for everyone and the surrounding shops are enough
I have been here for more than 3 years,Everything Awesome.
good location, value of money, friendly staff, a lot of activities
It’s wonderful! Super friendly
Some facilities such as Minto House need more care.
Great campus, Great student support. could use more inclusivity because i feel the move effort is being shown by students rather than the university itself.
bery nice place, good activities, nice staffs
Studying at the University of Edinburgh has been both challenging and rewarding. The teaching staff are knowledgeable and passionate, and many of them are leading researchers in their fields. There’s a strong emphasis on independent learning, which can be tough at first, but it really pushes you to grow academically. The campus is beautiful and historic, especially the central area around George Square. The library is massive and has all the resources you need. I also really enjoy the diversity here — there are students from all over the world, and countless societies and events to get involved in. Living in Edinburgh itself is also amazing. The city is full of history, nature, and great places to eat and explore. It's a very student-friendly environment. If you're looking for a top-tier university with international recognition and a great atmosphere, I’d highly recommend Edinburgh.
The buildings can be really confusing to get used too and they’re all so far apart it makes scheduling classes a nightmare but otherwise they’re lovely buildings!
Bad bad bad bad very bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad
The quality of teaching isn’t very good. The only thing I learnt from university is how good ChatGPT is.
Not great Wifi very spotty, Didn’t have a great social life within the accommodation but very friendly on campus, Sports clubs and societies.
Very good place to stay. Often they provide free food and drinks
overall had a great experience!
Reception was exceptionally kind they will help you with everything you need. Would 100% recommend.
Studying at the University of Edinburgh has been an inspiring and enriching experience. The campus is full of history, and the academic environment encourages critical thinking and creativity.
love UEBS and the city life here
Good. I like the school very near from my place.
Lots of good facilites, satisfactory student experince

I’m having the best time as a student at the University of Edinburgh
Really wonderful experience living here with great staff and nice and quiet
Really enjoyed it here so far.
Very good! Teachers are great and the environment is also good!
overall good, not too much to complain about
Really make me feel warm like home, The Best student accommodation!
I love this location and environment 😍 It is convenient for you to go to school and everywhere in this city!
Very good university to attend with a lot of access to services that are helpful to my studies. A lot of opportunities to meet people and interact with new friends. Staff are very helpful and easy to find/ contact
Satisfied with the facilities but not the course set
I like my university, I’m proud to be part of it. But with rising costs and our SU focusing on stuff unrelated. It feels disconnected.
Campus is massive, All buildings at one place
Fantastic university and wide range of things to get involved in.
I haven’t used many of the services at the university so I can’t comment on those, but I enjoy my course, facilities such as Levels cafe and Moray house library, and university staff are always kind and helpful
I don't engage much with the student union or careers service, but the campus is full of posters and I receive regular emails about opportunities so I assume they're effective. The campus is beautiful, with pretty good facilities. There's Potterrow, a social/study space that offers cheap food for lunch and dinner (each weekday there's a different offer on, eg Burger Mondays), as well as a campus shop. There are many student cafes, such as the one in George Square, which offer affordable snacks as well as hot and cold drinks. The main library is huge and open 24/7, and there are many other libraries such as the Law Library and Architecture Library at Old College, which can be accessed even by students not studying those courses (using your student card). There are tons of societies, though I found many to be academic/political related rather than a hobby. If you're an international student there's probably a Soc for you (many nationality Socs) to help make friends.
It's a good experience as an international student. Classes are good and the staff is constantly reaching out to help you in the process of settling in. The city is great, although the food (as it does in most of the UK) tended to be pricy and overall mid. Great coffees!
Good university with plenty of interesting societies to join!
An incredible campus with a very kind workers and a perfect library
The campus is a perfect mix of historic charm and modern facilities, offering great study spaces, well-equipped libraries, and plenty of areas to relax. Whether you’re looking for quiet study spots or social spaces, there’s something for everyone. One of the best parts of student life here is the variety of clubs and societies. There are so many options to meet new people, explore hobbies, and get involved in different activities. The Students’ Union is also a highlight—it’s well-organized, active, and really enhances the student experience with events, support, and social opportunities. The Careers Service is excellent, providing valuable guidance on job applications, internships, and postgraduate opportunities. They genuinely go the extra mile to help students with their future plans. Wi-Fi is generally reliable in most areas, but it can be spotty in underground spaces or some older buildings. Despite that, my overall experience has been incredibly positive.
The university itself provides such great facilities in terms of the gym and study spaces which are easy to book. I haven’t had too many experiences with the students union.
It’s been good so far. Some facilities are better than others, the old facilities definitely need to be improved. Wifi is generally accessible and works on most of uni campus.
The KB campus is very close and convenient, and there's a big shopping mall right next door.
Fab uni, well organised. Teaching is outstanding. Lecturers are so knowledgable. Thoroughly enjoying my time here and glad I get to experience Edinburgh university.
Everything is perfect, the Wi-Fi is very good
kings building is only a 10-minute walk away, which is very convenient. Friendly staff, very comfortable experience
Not the biggest fan of Edinburgh university compared to other smaller universities but, being large, it does have a lot to offer, however it does feel less personal being in lectures of 300-400 people
Very good experience overall. Met a lot of friends and the knowledge taught is very good. The campus has various of facilities for us to use, which is cool.
My experience at the university of Edinburgh has been great, with amazing facilities, and a wide variety of societies to choose from. Teaching has overall been of outstanding quality, and I have found the majority of my courses really enjoyable and rewarding.
I have really enjoyed being at this uni!
Great facilities on campus to help with learning and great staff to provide details lecturers who are eager to help
