I love my university. They provide a really nice wellbeing support. They have a place called pause which can walk in and speak out my anxiety. The well-being tutor reply to me quickly if I feel unwell. The university professor are quite responsible and warm-hearted. They always encourage me and provide guidance rather than criticising students like the lecturers in my high school. Campus is great and societies are welcoming
It's very close to school, just a 5-minute walk. Commuting is also convenient — it only takes 15 minutes by bus to the city center. There are plenty of supermarkets nearby. Highly recommended.

Good uni overall good do more for international students
It could be worse I guess, just don't expect wonders.
Loved staying here, would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere comfortable and fun!
It has a nice campus. It is a good university
Good facilities, loads of societies, and many nice people to meet
This university has a very warm and supportive atmosphere, where students and teachers interact openly and respectfully. The learning environment is both relaxed and motivating. The faculty members are friendly and always willing to help with academic or personal matters. The campus infrastructure is also impressive—modern libraries, well-equipped labs, and excellent sports facilities make campus life convenient and enjoyable. Overall, it's a welcoming and inspiring place to study.
It's a pretty good university, but my only gripe is that every course is as good as it should be.
It’s been very great and fine.
Being a final-year student at UoB has been a genuinely rewarding experience, both academically and personally. The course has been challenging in the right ways, pushing me to develop strong problem-solving skills, independence, and a deeper understanding of my field. The lecturers have generally been supportive and knowledgeable, and I’ve appreciated the balance between theory and practical application, especially in labs and project work. One of the highlights has been the final-year project, which allowed me to explore an area I’m genuinely interested in while applying everything I’ve learned over the past few years. It’s been demanding, but also one of the most fulfilling parts of my degree. Beyond academics, university life here has been vibrant. There are plenty of societies, events, and opportunities to meet people from different backgrounds, which made it easy to build friendships and grow in confidence.
overall a very good uni, I like how the campus is a mix of modern and old buildings
Really enjoyed my time at UOB so far!
Good, highly ranked uni with reliable services
The University of Birmingham is overall a really great university, and I do genuinely see why it has such a strong reputation. The teaching is solid, the opportunities are there, and it feels like a place that can really help you build your future. At the same time, if I am being honest, the social side and overall student life feel a little lacking. The university itself is impressive, but the atmosphere can sometimes feel quieter and less connected than I expected. So overall, I have a lot of respect for it and think it is an amazing university, even if the social experience does not fully match that.
Birmingham uni is genuinely so amazing for getting internships and opportunities, as a pathways to Birmingham student I cannot appreciate how good the careers service is. We also have amazing lecturers that are passionate about what they do
The campus is beautiful and I thoroughly enjoy everyday at the university.
Love my uni, I go even if I dont have lectures because its such an amazing place
The University of Birmingham offers a supportive learning environment with clear teaching, modern facilities, and helpful staff. The campus is well organised, and academic resources are easy to access. Overall, it provides a positive student experience and strong opportunities for personal and professional development.
Good place to explore and new environment. The faculties are very much connected to the students
Good support, good amount of events and resources. Campus is nice.
I didn't choose Birmingham as my first choice or my insurance choice but I couldn't be happier where I've ended up
I like the University, it's great, and I love the campus
Great campus, really near to everything and even has its own train station to get into the city easily.
I am a Biomedical Science student, and the lecturers are really helpful and knowledgeable to expand our understanding of topics. The facilities on site, such as sports and fitness, are high quality and have a lot of great equipment!
Really enjoying studying my Masters at the University of Birmingham. The campus is lovely with great facilities and study spaces. The careers service is also super helpful - they run lots of different events.
The library is open 24 hours. There is a train station on campus, and it takes 10 minutes to reach the city center. Birmingham is the second largest city in the UK. There are numerous Chinese restaurants, Chinese Super League matches, and Asian supermarkets. The cost of living is 30% lower than in London. The campus is safe. It's reassuring to walk back to the dormitory at night. The administration can be a bit slow, and it takes patience to reply to emails. During peak hours, there are limited seats in the library, and some old classrooms have outdated facilities.
I have been at the University of Birmingham for 2 whole semesters now! I can confidently say that I have really enjoyed my time here. The campus is genuinely a beautiful place in ALL seasons and the atmosphere in and around is genuinely so lively and fun. There's a large selection of accommodations in the area each having scenic and convenient places to study, shop and eat depending on what you prioritise. Fun Facts about the Unniversity of Birmingham: 1) Old Joe - Our clocktower is the tallest standing in the world! 2) We're the only university in the world with its own university ran train station! 3) Monsters University is loosely based off the design of the University of Birmingham AND the clocktower in the Lord of the Rings 4) Usain Bolt trained at the campus and stayed in Edgbaston before the 2012 Olympics Isn't that cool?
The environment is good and everyone is kind to help us
A really good university, wasn't expecting to like it so much since it was my last choice but I'm so glad I'm here. It's such a green campus and feels a world away from the city but is only a 7 minute train away! Genuinely the best of both worlds. The facilities (for maths at least) are pretty fantastic, and there's tons of academic and career support.
University wasn't my first option as I initially planned to get a degree apprenticeship, yet the limited apprenticeship opportunities in digital media and marketing meant that I had to go for my second option (uni). Yet I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised with my experience so far at the University of Birmingham. The campus feels safe, the people there are friendly and the facilities are endless! It has made me realise that everything happens for a reason and sometimes your first option isn't always the best one. That being said I would definitely recommend the University of Birmingham to anyone looking to do a degree.
I think it is very good, clean and new
The university experience for me hasn’t been typical but the campus itself is beautiful
above average university i am lucky to go to and grateful for
Large research data, large campus, increased interactions with people from different departments and countries, large resources to work on self development
I have no regrets choosing the university of birmingham. I studied my undergraduate degree here and I loved the university so much I even have stayed and currently completeing a masters course here. The campus is amazing and easily accessible to all. The facilities and sports clubs on offer too is very good as there is something for everyone. I would recomend this university to everyone. People are off put by Birmingham but you do really grow to love the city and I have loved my past four years here.

Great campus, good study spaces
Calthorpe Court is an excellent place to stay. The accommodation is clean, the staff are consistently polite and helpful, and as an international student, they have made me feel at home despite being far away from home.
It’s been okay, not enough staff support.
Great place. Friendly and helpful staff
The coperation of the Athena studios was very coperative and very nice facilities at Athena Studios facilities
Sports clubs and facilities are excellent.
Really good. I like it it’s fun
An excellent place to stay. I really enjoy staying here.
I like my campus and my course
just gave a low mark for the clubs and societies part, because in my first week of being here, I had no idea how to go about joining them, and I was having difficulty getting organized with with things like getting my student card.
Amazing university . Beautiful campus
The university has a holistic system that supports students' interests and hobbies, along with welfare services that cover everything from academic writing needs to well-being issues.
I’ve really enjoyed my time at the University of Birmingham. The campus is beautiful and has a great mix of modern and historic buildings, and the facilities are excellent. The lecturers are supportive, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in societies and events. Overall, it’s a great place to study and grow both academically and personally.
a good university. I’ve had a great experience so far, met some lovely people. The lecturers are friendly and approachable aswell as the seminar leads.
Nice campus, lots of emails from careers advisors
My university hosts many social events for students, whether they're in a special area of study or not. There are so many great clubs and societies to join in a wide variety. I've met friends who share similar interests to mine and connect over them, and even go so far as to introduce me to new ones. The Facilities on campus have also been extremely helpful. Offering a wide network of support with the right steps for me to get back on track with any worries or troubles, whether personal or academic. Helping me to thrive and improve each time.
It’s a gorgeous uni with loads to offer and brilliant lecturers and courses. The study spaces are also such nice environments it makes studying much more enjoyable.
A really good university to attend
Good friends and good staff good experience
Good uni with a wide variety of activities to do
Good experience in the university, a lot opportunities provided.
Good university and amazing campus
Great accommodation close to the uni and really nice staff here Good facilities here
I am a mature distance learning student, completing my MA in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics. The online platform is easy to use and the digital library is expansive. All staff have been easy to contact when I need any support, including IT, Finance, Admin, my personal tutor and teaching staff. I have been assigned a mentor to help me stay connected with university life and the Philosophy department. The modules are contemporary, as are the course materials. The student cohort is diverse and we all connect to the course flexibly, from different time zones. I receive a weekly events newsletter which has plenty of options for attending online webinars and socials. Feedback on assessed work does take 15 working days, which feels like a long time, but once it arrives it is extremely detailed and personalised, so it is worth the wait. I feel as though I am receiving excellent training in core philosophical skills of critical thinking, argumentation and academic writing.
Good uni so fun so nice I really love
I absolutely love this place! Moving here wasn’t easy, especially coming from another country, but choosing Battery Park was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The study spaces are incredible, and the pool table and table tennis area are perfect for unwinding after a long study session. The facilities are spacious, modern, and feel really safe. There’s always someone at reception, whether you need help with maintenance or just a friendly chat. It’s not a proper night without saying hi to the lovely Aga at reception, or starting the morning with sweet Bee. They truly keep the positive energy going and make the whole place feel like home. Honestly, it’s so worth it.
Amazing university with amazing vibes
Aga and Farah are very helpful. Accommodation offers everything I would hope for.
Great place to study. The campus is beautiful with so many green spaces and good facilities. There are loads of different societies and sports clubs. Careers support is great with bespoke placement and internship opportunities. The teaching and support on my course has been amazing!
good location and very convenient for students. The staff are very kind and helpful
Overall a good accom however it is inconvenient that there is no reception during the weekend. I once missed a flight because I my passport was supposed to be delivered on a saturday but the delivery failed as the reception is closed. The fire alarms go off pretty often, inconvenient during the weekend because there is no one at reception so no one to turn it off. Otherwise the rooms are very nice, the staff is also very nice. It is definitely on the pricey side, an ensuite room is pretty expensive and I m not sure what justifies that price.
Love the University, good career opportunities
University of Birmingham is a research-intensive university with a strong academic atmosphere and an international outlook. The courses are well-structured and combine theory with practical learning. The campus is beautiful and well-equipped, with excellent library and study resources. With students from diverse cultural backgrounds, it offers not only academic growth but also a broader global perspective.
Sooo good I love the atmosphere here!
Great place and very welcoming for International students
Been really nice, staff are helpful, campus is refreshing and really clean and careers team is great
the university of birmingham is a great place to study, the campus is very nice, with loads of green areas, a variety of transportation options we can use. The library is also very helpful with some good study spaces and a lot of research material. The teaching facilities are also very nice, and there's a variety of them depending on each modules need. There's a lot of activities that take place around campus so i think it is easy to find something that will interest you or to try something new.
Nothing is perfect but for the most part it has been 10/10, would recommend.
The facilities and opportunities were really good, allowing us to grow and explore new avenues.
I enjoy studying liberal arts at UoB because it allows me explores different subject modules each year. I’ve learnt to realise what I do enjoy and what I don’t enjoy in different subjects. There are loads of student societies to join from as well on campus and I try a new one each year to meet new people. I’ve been on committees and been able to have a part time on campus which is flexible around my studies and commitment. The library on campus is 24/7 during term time and even has group study spaces, silent spaces, rooms that you can book as well. This is quite the lifesaver for exam season or if you’ve left your assignment a bit late again! Day time events are great as there are ones from student societies, the student union, the department and the main university. This includes Welcome Week, UoB Xtra which takes place after exams and the artisan markets where there are monthly stalls from local markets on campus to explore.
I have thoroughly enjoyed studying here at the university of Birmingham. I opted to study both my undergraduate degree, and postgraduate degree, due to how much I love the campus.
Having lived here for half a year now, everything is very convenient, daily life is easy, and the campus is beautiful. The tutors and classmates I've encountered have all been very kind, and I've made some excellent friends. I enjoy the university gym and the campus, and dormitory life is also very comfortable.
The teaching is excellent and I receive a lot of invaluable support from academics. I am a commuter student and receive a permit which allows me to drive here easily. Whilst I cannot comment much on social activities (since I am not on campus often), I see there is a huge variety available to me.
Lovely campus and it’s got good study spaces
Great university and professors too
condensed contents, supportive lecturers, wide range of resources, modern facility, clean campus
I loved my undergraduate degree at UoB so much that I have returned after many years to do my Masters. The campus is unbeatable, beautiful and peaceful. The facilities are unbelievable, Sport & Fitness, Library the green campus, make you proud to study and learn there. The career and academic support for students is also brilliant!
I’ve really enjoyed studying the MA History at the University of Birmingham, particularly the balance between academic challenge and support. Teaching is a real highlight: seminars are small and discussion-focused, lecturers are approachable specialists, and feedback on assignments and dissertations is detailed and constructive, helping me develop my research and writing skills. The campus is green, well laid-out, and full of quiet and collaborative study spaces, with excellent facilities for History students, including the Main Library, online databases, and an interlibrary loan service. Careers support is strong, from one-to-one advice and workshops to alumni networks and the Birmingham Award, helping students plan their next steps. The Guild of Students also offers a vibrant social and extracurricular life, with societies covering almost any interest or sport, daytime workshops, evening socials, and fun events, making it easy to balance study with social life.
Overall, my experience at the University of Birmingham has been positive. The academic environment is strong, with well-structured courses and good learning resources. Campus facilities are well maintained, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in societies and activities. While some services can be busy at peak times, overall the university provides a supportive and engaging student experience.
My time at Birmingham has been fantastic. Great support available for students, a well stocked library, plenty of social events and networking opportunities, and a range of academic information and support to guide you through university. I highly recommend Birmingham for its quality of teaching and learning.
The focus on wellbeing is a great asset to the university. There are many options for support available for students.
My overall experience at the University of Birmingham has been very positive and rewarding, especially as an international postgraduate student. The university offers a strong balance between academic quality, practical opportunities, and student support, which makes it a great place to study at LLM level. Academically, the teaching is research-led and intellectually engaging, with a strong emphasis on critical thinking rather than rote learning. Seminars are discussion-based, and students are encouraged to engage with real-world legal and regulatory issues. One of the biggest strengths of the LLM programme is its flexibility, which allows students to choose optional modules outside their core pathway and personalise their degree according to their interests and career goals. Beyond academics, the university provides many extracurricular and employability-focused opportunities, such as research roles, pro bono work, mooting, and skills-based challenges.
My experience has been positive and rewarding, with strong teaching, supportive lecturers, and excellent facilities. The course is engaging and relevant, university life is vibrant and inclusive, and the support services make studying feel manageable and well supported. Overall, it has been a valuable and enjoyable experience both academically and personally.
I have had a great experience studying at the University of Birmingham so far. Both the academics and extra-curricular aspects of university life have been amazing. I have personally liked all of my modules so far. They match my research interests quite well. The lecturers and tutors are all experts in their respective fields, and it truly feels enriching to be in their classrooms. My course operates in a seminar-only mode, which was definitely a huge change from my undergrad. However, I have really come to enjoy seminars as it is interesting to hear from both my tutor and my classmates. Everyone has something different to bring to the table. The staff are also very supportive outside the classroom, and I have generally not had any issues with contacting them. My experience living in university accommodation has been smooth so far. The accommodation team regularly organises events for its residents, which help keep the environment really lively.
