University cares more about diversity in the workforce than having lecturers you can understand. See Omar Nibouche, Bi Yang, etc. Incredibly difficult to understand with such hard accents, and can barely engage a class room. read more

(Software Eng & Computing Sci are the same course) The teaching has beyond poor and put me under extreme amounts of stress when I started my placement and realized that I knew absolutely nothing after studying at Ulster (and being on a 1st) for 2 years. Lecturers often will ignore emails of questions and help, even go as far as to respond to them telling you to "Google it", often students have absolutely no idea what they are supposed to be doing as the guidance is practically non-existent. They do not teach you relevant coding practises and I had to essentially throw a lot of the nonsense I was told out the window to succeed on my placement, you will also not be taught modern or in-demand languages and software. Such as Java 8 but with no libraries and no frontend, meaning the whole class was just printing functions to the console. Teaching is VERY surface level, expect to pay for 3rd party online classes if you want to do well, because you are not getting the knowledge from UU read more
