Graphic Communication, BA Hons FullTime

The amazing thing about this course is the real jobs module where we have to work with at least 3 clients that come to the university. Its great expierence for your cv. However this course is not for the faint hearted. There are lectures and seminars everyday and the sheer amount of work is above any other course I talk to. Especially at the end of term we are always very stressed trying to meet deadlines and out of the 40 or so people on the course each year i would say atleast 5 drop out. Only apply if you are definitely wanting to go into graphic design because this course will be perfect for you

Department as a whole has very limited interest in supporting actual students. Technicians are lovely and very supportive, but mixed messages from lecturers means that students all seem to get different information. Course is CONSTANTLY disrupted by strike action and the department does little to minimise the impact of this on students read more

Art and English Literature, BA Hons FullTime

Art has a wonderful staff team and community. It becomes very independent in your later years but you get what you put into it. Literature is good, it is very 50/50 with the tutors, some are lovely and will offer any help you need whilst others will provide very little. read more

Fine Art, BA Hons FullTime

Reading is one of the best universities in the world, ranking in the top 1% of world universities. It is an institution held in high regard in the world of industry, research and academia. I loved my time there. It is a vibrant, stimulating community with great facilities in a lovely parkland campus. For those who love tradition, the original city campus, with its cloisters and quadrangles, is still in use. My experience there shaped me for a successful life and career and I'm still in touch with many friends I made there. read more

English Literature and Film, BA Hons FullTime

I'm only a first year, so from what I've done so far, I would say the curriculum of the first year course is restrictive, however it is only to learn the basics. I found the Poetry module as well as the Intro to Film and Intro to TV modules to be the most fun, a lot of it is just watching and reading stuff and it's pretty great! read more
