Politics and International Relations, BSocSc Hons FullTime

The politics department provides nothing outside of readings. No networking opportunities, interesting events with high-level speakers, internship options or exchanges. Not even a dedicated study space for politics undergrads. The degrees can be done online and that's what most people did. There's absolutely nothing that can justify the price, especially when compared to other European universities. read more

History and Politics at Manchester is a great course and the two subjects compliment each other very well. Teaching is good and engaging, and you are not restricted to just choosing history/politics modules so a wide range to choose from. However some of the history modules in particular could be more varied, I have found that I have studied some similar topics whilst I’ve been here. I’d like to see some different areas/regions/time periods added to the syllabus. read more

The course content was good but I wished I had more contact hours. We only get around 9 or 10 contact hours. The course is very independent and sometimes there is a lack of support. My academic advisor was good but rarely communicate with me. Lecturer and tutor were mostly very qualified with some exceptions. The value for money is the main thing I can complain about. I don't believe that humanities or social sciences courses, in general, are as expensive as any other STEM courses (especially the one that requires equipment and labs). So why charging Home fee students the same? It is simply unfair. read more
