The school offers a lot of study rooms, which makes finding a quiet place to work very easy. There are plenty of activities organized by the student union and various social societies, including free taster classes during Welcome Week. However, the cleaning quality and frequency in toilets and communal spaces could be improved. For example, the kitchen rolls in the common areas ran out just a week after being refilled. read more

My experience at the university has been excellent. The campus and facilities are modern and well-equipped, creating a great environment for both study and relaxation. There’s a wide range of friendly clubs and societies, and the Students’ Union always puts effort into organising good events and representing us well. The Careers Service is supportive and easy to reach, and the Wi-Fi has been reliable everywhere on campus. Overall, it’s been a really positive and enjoyable experience. read more

I’m an engineering student at the University of Manchester, I’ve really enjoyed my time here. The campus has a great mix of old and modern buildings, and the facilities, especially the new Engineering Building, are excellent. The Students’ Union is lively and always has something going on, and the hockey club has been a huge part of my uni life — it’s a great way to meet people and balance studies with sport. The Careers Service is really supportive and offers useful advice on CVs, internships, and job hunting. Wi-Fi around campus is reliable too. Overall, Manchester has a great mix of academic challenge, social life, and a friendly atmosphere. read more

I am very happy so far with the university of Manchester. When I first arrived, I had no wifi in my room, though a very helpful and patient It helper spent 2 hours on a teams video call to fix this. Now I get a fast, stable connection through an ethernet cable. There is a greater range of societies to join, the facilities such as the lecture halls, especially in the Nancy Rothwell building are superb! The careers service also seems very strong, though I have not had to use it yet! read more

I like the buildings but feel Ali G study building could use a lot of repairs as a lot of the seats are broken and torn and one of the toilet doors in the girls bathroom on the first floor is broken. Genuinely feel a lot of the study areas could use a massive revamp because the broken seats are just uncomfortable to sit on and it's hard to find spots. The WiFi is good but takes forever to connect to. The SU is good just wish it had more study spaces or more spaces for students as it gets PACKED, and they take a while to respond to messages from societies. I like the societies but often feel there are too many of them and that societies should be fun places, a lot of the societies are too political and make people really uncomfortable. read more

The university of Manchester is so beautiful not just in terms of the architecture but also in terms of the community, the amazing lecture theatre that reminds of the seating setting in parliament which helps with the mental restructuring from regular plain setting plans in high school (which gives off 9-5 working class vibes) to top tier performers who have a say in important matters at top levels like parliament. I’m reading too much into the seating arrangement but it really is so nice to see a live parliament seating arrangement while studying. The WiFi is wonderful and very fast anywhere you are in the campus (I believe, I haven’t gone everywhere but I do believe the WiFi is good all around campus). Thank you for reading! God bless you so much in Jesus name - Amen✨ read more
The University of Manchester
Overall beautiful campus with lots of different areas in which you can study or socialise. Cafes can also be found across campus which are great to get lunch and meet people. There is a wide array of societies but my only concern is it is quite hard to figure out when events are and also what the memberships do. Also as a commuter student a lot of the timings are not public transport friendly. As a history student, all my lecturers and seminar leaders have been helpful and friendly but limited contact hours would be the only downside especially with the cost of university nowadays. The internet is easily accessible across campus and does not take long to connect for lectures when using laptops or IPads. Only key issue would be the organisation and lack of communication between different schools and departments meaning sometimes things like timetabling takes a long time to be fixed and the process was quite long and drawn out but all staff members who helped were incredibly friendly. read more
