Although the course quality was alright, I believe that a more rigorous vetting process for the students would have improved the learning experience. I believe that more external student support services such as supplemental learning may be better for students to have a better learning experience; especially if the course is a shorter one (~1-2 years) read more

Applying to Nottingham Trent was one of the best decisions of my life. The vibrant student life on and around campus, the working community within my course (big up architecture) as well as the unparalleled oppurtinites for students seeking success both during and after their studies makes NTU the one for me. Companies often visit our Student Union to host events with chances for networking opportunities - plus freebies! The lecturers here genuinely seem to care about their students. I love it here! First year was a brilliant experience from a social standpoint, meeting new people both in my accommodation and within my course. This of course all came to a quick end when the restrictions were placed on us in March and we were placed into lockdown. Despite this, I was able to make sustainable relationships with people at university that ensured when I returned for my second year, I had a great appetite to get more out of my experience in the second year. During my first year, I found it difficult to adjust to the requirements of university work due to its independent nature. I found my course very difficult to begin with and found it hard to reach out for support, I would certainly say that COVID had a big role to play in this. An improvement in my academic life allowed me to make the most of social opportunities during my final year at university. One thing I would definitely recommend to anyone who is going too university is that you get what you give. read more

Studying in Nottingham is not only providing a quality education experience but also a unique life experience, everyone looking after your wellbeing, your supervisors, staff in the department, doctoral school and the rest of the NTU community. Social life is diverse, plenty of options available and would match your taste. It is also a place that pushes you to be creative and get out of your comfort zone. I thought pursuing a PhD was very difficult, but I did not know that the journey becomes more interesting when you do it in an enabling place. read more

The NTU is overall good however, being a PhD student I struggle with not having a personalized work space. Moreover, I have my family with me and I also struggled a lot with finding an accommodation as NTU does not provide accommodation to students with families. read more

Psychology at NTU has exceeded my expectations massively. The course is interesting, and engaging, and coursework doesn’t seem nearly as a drag as it did during A levels. My accommodation is lovely and quiet, but isn’t the right place for me. I would’ve settled in a lot better somewhere in the city centre. As for social life, nottingham is brilliant. There’s so much to do, the nightlife is great, and there’s so many day time activities too. read more
