Fine Art, BA Hons FullTime

I studied BA Fine Art, the studio space and facilities were a little on the small side. Unlike most universities many materials were actually free, such as canvas, wire, wood and clay. After 3 years I came to the conclusion the university has a mixture of excellent, engaging tutors and less enthusiastic and disinterested ones. Nick Ferguson, Helen Potkin, Alexis Teplin, Andrea Strokes, Ann Hulland, Louis Nixon, Stephen Hughes, Neil Jefferies were excellent tutors who demonstrated their willingness to go that extra mile for students. The course lacked in lectures and is primarily self driven; focusing on the students independent learning. The majority of tutors tend to focus more on the conceptual than on technical ability, with many of my fellow students moving away from mediums such as paint due to the constant criticism and lack of actually input from tutors. The Halls are good, staff are friendly and helpful. There were also many job opportunities with the university, 5 stars! read more
