For a year from September 2021-22, overall experience was good,
I am a Brookes student who currently living in Slade Park...ooops the park 😩. Let me start from the staff, most of them are unhelpful and definitely does not show empathy except one. Up next is the management, which is horrible and very inconsiderate. Once you come here you will see the next stage of depression. If you are home student please don't choose this accommodation. You will be digging your own grave for finance. It is not even worth the price, you can get better room at parade and Paul kent for better price. Lastly, I am just gonna touch up on the how awful the management team communicates with each other about updating the tenants room. For the past few month I had been waking up at Slade hearing loud and frustrating sound of countless knocks and construction noises. One day they come to your room to check for light the next its something else. There is even a point when they try to open your door without your permission.
The best place for students to stay. The staff a friendly, helpful and full of love and warmth.
After spending 4 years at Slade Park, I have nothing short of praise, not just the facility itself but also to the entire management team who keep the accommodation going, and going the extra mile to help or whenever I needed something to rectify, just like when I had to extend during Covid-19. As an international student, connectivity is one of the top priorities I have and the internet/wif-fi has been quite outstanding as it kept me connected during my stay, especially when the University switched to online learning. Overall, my experience at Slade Park has been outstanding and it has been my home away from home during my University days.
I live in an ensuite at Slade Park, and it is extremely fascinating!
The staff are friendly and helpful! They are available 24/7 at service and quick response for every query. Good social space like media room and study room. Gaming area is cool.
Best halls I ever stayed in. Great location, staff are fantastic, highly recommend it as a place to live while at uni.
I’ve had a great time at slade park. The management are always happy to help and do the upmost to make us students happy. I would definitely recommend 😊
Staff is great and the accommodation has a good space and environment
Amazing Student Accommodation! I lived here all three years of my studies. The rooms look exactly like the pictures, they are modern, spacious and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Maintenance is efficient and also very kind and helpful. They give out freebies from time to time or host small events. Location wise its great since its a 2min walk to the bus stops, a 5min walk to Aldi, a 20min walk to templars square shopping mall and a 30min walk to oxford brookes campus (15min cycle, 10min bus). The only downside would be that its not the closest to the university or Oxford city center but the bus services are pretty ok. The Laundry facilities are small and not very good but thats an outsourced company which most student accommodations in oxford use so you cant really get away from it.
Warm and inviting, that's how I would describe Slade Park. Everybody here is so friendly, welcoming and inviting. It truly is home away from home.
The staff is friendly and quite a good place overall!
The management team is very friendly.
Slade Park wouldn’t be Slade Park without the support and attention that goes into the student experience from the management team. You can tell that the staff here really care about the students and do whatever they can to ensure that everyone’s wellbeing is the best it can be. I will always be grateful to Ryan and Angie for their compassion, especially through lockdown.
Considering the pandemic it has been as good as it can be. Although it hasn’t been like first year, the managers have done their best to make it seem as normal as possible, plus lots of good freebies!
Slade Park has been extremely accommodating, I’ve had the best social experience & met so many amazing people. The management team are lovely & are quick to sort out any problems. It’s also only a quick walk to Aldi & the bus stop, making it a prime location for uni students. I would definitely recommend Slade Park to anyone considering it.
The unhelpfulness of management really lets the place down. Most other uni halls have offered rent reductions or some sort of other negotiation with tenants, however we have all been told the same line of "negotiations are taking place regarding a potential refund" for months. I regret not choosing accommodation that my other friends went to now due to greedy landlords. Plus the security are too strict and make you feel as if you are a prisoner rather than a Tennant where you're paying for a service. Other than that, the rooms are nice, fairly modern, easy access to bus stops and wifi is good.
Great first year experience, Management were so helpful and I’d definitely recommend 😊
great location and price, staffs are friendly and helpful. Very good experience living at Slade Park
No cleaning service, takes a while to get into uni, Cowley and town so location is very poor. Lack of social spaces/ all unavailable to use. Get told off for having smoke outside after certain time. Other accommodation must better value for money.
Excellent experience. I would highly recommend
The accommodation is great and so far so good! Aside from the ongoing pandemic that has taken away the social experience everything else is good. The management is super friendly, always ready to assist. The wifi is strong, plenty of social space, location is not so central but bus stop is nearby and always looking forward to Fridays for free goodies :)
Slade park is a very comfortable place to live in halls, with friendly staff, especially Ryan who is always there to help. Always clean and amazing WiFi, it could however benefit from additional social spaces.
It’s an amazing space to live in
It’s been fabulous living here so far. The staff who manage the complex go above and beyond for the students who live here - I cannot fault the staff at all, especially Ryan and Angelina. The complex is always kept clean and tidy, your post is always delivered safely to reaction with no issues - plus, they host plenty of social events and give you plenty of free food items! Slade Park is a wonderful complex to live in, I’d highly recommend it!
Nice place! Bery close to Aldi and Co-op. Friendly staff and very helpful
Amazing place. Well located, good value for your money. Would definitely recommend!
This is my second year staying at Slade Park and I love it! A 2 minute walk away from Aldi and a 7 min walk from the Coop, a post office, pharmacy and a few other food shops it’s in a great location! The staff are so friendly and helpful and the rooms all come equipped with everyone a uni student might need!! Only a 10 min bus drive from Brookes I’ve really enjoyed my two years staying here!! Thank you
Best accommodation to stay, Ryan, Angelina and security first class! A family away from home.
Friendly staff, good value for money.
To be fair it’s alright. Probably more social life at other university accommodations but, the rooms are nice and a good size. Met some great mates here. Both management, Ryan and Angelina are very accommodating and nice. Only downside I can really say is more for the management of slade park, where through the Covid-19 pandemic there has been no rent reduction, just like how Unite Students or University managed halls have had theirs reduced. But overall a decent place to stay
