Really pretty accommodation that is among the cheapest in Cambridge. Even our token 1960s building, which is admittedly a bit of an eyesore, is both tucked away from the main college and offers comfortable rooms and spectacular views to those that live there. Food in Hall is safe, if not extravagant, and a three course formal is served in Hall every night for those that want it. As for sociability, accommodation is offered in-college for three years - or within 100 feet of it, so you're never far from your friends. Within close walking distance of all the shops, clubs, restaurants, lecture halls and labs in Cambridge - yet just far enough from King's to be mostly off the tourist trail, with good, very friendly porters who manage to keep out most people. Famously excellent library, JCR and triennial ball.

It is excellent university for its academic excellence
Don't listen to the stereotypes. Yes, Peterhouse is small and traditional but it unquestionably has bang for your buck!

Rent heavily subsidised by the JCR and bang in possibly the best location in Cambridge - with Sidgwick Site (Arts/Humanities) and Downing Site (Sciences) both within 500m of the college, and the Engineering department literally on our doorstep. Plus, the centre of town, and country walks are both equally as close. No standard room size (huge and tiny) and en suites not available for most of the first years - but this keeps rent below that of any other Cambridge college. On-site accommodation provided for three years. Beautiful buildings (minus the standard token sixties monstrosity, the William Stone Building).
Small college with excellent accommodation. New building has recently opened with good quality en suite rooms. In terms of the social experience, you may find it is quite dependent on the 70 or so other people in your year, but everyone can find great friends for life at Cambridge, within Peterhouse and at other colleges.
