The way it's set up makes it really hard to make friends, this is specially bad for international students. The food is simple not good, the taste is generally bad and the portion sizes are small. Breakfast on weekdays run from 7:30-9 which is just unrealistic for most students to make it to (you'll realise once you start uni). The management makes it worse by "offering" alternative managements during holidays. You shouldn't stay here during holidays as they pretend you don't exist and limit every facility available including the laundry and hot water. The location is bad as you can't get anywhere quickly without a bus, and the buses are not reliable. The only social event is the formals however this is not a friend making environment, you must already have friends to go with. As for the social spaces, there's a room with a few couches and a study room but they're not places you'd want to spend several hours in. The positive parts include, decent wifi and tennis courts.

Do not and I repeat, DO NOT, live here. Especially in Old Quad, if you find yourself living in Old Quad, move out. The rooms are in extremely poor quality, the windows leak water when it rains and the person in charge of Wills Hall is extremely rude and unhelpful. Do not live here, save your money.

I am an international student and I joined Wills hall without knowing its reputation. It made it very hard to make friends with students from other halls. They would just completely dismiss me as soon as I said I was from Wills hall. It made me very sad and anxious to talk to other students and as a consequence I didn't make many friends. There are some posh people at Wills hall but they aren't that bad and I feel that the reverse snobbery is largely unjustified. If I had known about the students population's attitude to Wills hall before I probably would have stayed somewhere else. It really did contributed to me having a terrible time at university unfortunately.
Everyone wants to be in wills really

Warden in 2015 ignored cannabis dealer in old quad but favoured church attendees. Not interested in student welfare..see news reports
Thank you @CarolineCourt for the informative review, it makes sense
Wills hall is an amazing place to live. The rooms aren't too small, especially in the Old Quad. It has a great social life and it was great to spend my first year here.
Posh hall at the end of the world
Beautiful hall. Looks like an Oxford College.
A little expensive but by far the best
Amazing hall, amazing staff and ball. The best hall in UoB and the one everyone truly wants to be in. Competitive to get a place.
bar is gorgeous, food is disappointing but the maintenance is brilliant. Great social aspect.
