The student village itself is in a great location, a very short walk to the facilities on Talbot campus and to a nearby corner shop. However, my experience here hasn’t been great. The rooms in the house I live in are nowhere near soundproof, unlike the other review says. This means that I’ve heard everything going on in the house, from people talking downstairs to people having *** in another room. Other than that it’s not bad for the money, and maintenance issues have been fixed quickly.
Great accommodation, got the last place here and I was expecting it to be an awful time considering the price and the type of people that would be put in this accommodation but I've had a lovely time. The rooms are incredibly well sound-proof, I can't hear my roommates at all and I can't hear anything outside, I can't say the same about others like Purbeck House where they have paper thin walls. The only problem I will list is that the service is pretty bad, I've been waiting 3-4 months for a freezer tray, that's pretty neat but everything else they've been on top of. The internet hits 100+ MBPS both download/upload speeds, it's cut off randomly late at night twice since my time here but that's about it. The social experience is meh, there's a common room with regular events but I personally haven't attended any. It's located right next to the main campus so that's very ideal and you're at the centre of the uni busses practically so you are able to take busses to town centre.
