Occupational Therapy, BHSc Hons FullTime

Amazing course with good access to placements and a team who will try there hardest to accommodate your needs for lectures and placement. Some lecturers are rarely there when needed, and often take holidays over breaks for exam periods, so have any questions ready for BEFORE the weeks leading up to your exams!! The course is exciting and interesting, with a mix of theory and practical sessions. Personal tutors are there if needed but sessions are rare, so be proactive.

Occupational Therapy, BHSc Hons FullTime

Having studied Occupational Therapy at York, I feel that my time there was a mixed experience. For starters, the University itself, the facilities and the city are fantastic and among the best that any University has to offer. The teaching of my course at YSJ was a little distant. For example, having been hospitalised through a traffic injury in my first year, my tutor placed a 'black mark' on my file for missing three days of university without informing them. Though this was later removed when I lodged a dispute, I feel that the faculty could have done with handling this a little better. Overall the structure and content of the degree course was good, and the integration with the Physiotherapy students was helpful. The dropout rate of the course at YSJ is unusually high (in the group of students 2010-2013, 102 people started the course, and only 71 completed it). Overall, I would neither encourage or discourage enrolling on this course here. CR read more
