Photography, BA Hons FullTime

Tutors are rather proactive with encouraging us to enter photography competitions and as well as having portfolio reviews with industry professionals. They let us know if they have people looking for photographers, plus weekly guest talks! So there are some great industry links. The content is great - a mix of practical and academic. I would say the writing part is very minimal though

Illustration (with Foundation Year), BA Hons FullTime

The foundation course is very half asked, makes it sound like we are doing a lot but no real expiration of media very low quality for a uni, definitely not worth any of the money. The resources are also poor, no clay working, no screen printing, instead we use polystyrene and potato’s. read more

Fine Art (with Foundation Year), BA Hons FullTime

You don't get taught on this course, you basically come up with your own project, so long as you meet the requirements asked. This can be nice, but not a lot happens otherwise. You are basically left to it. Would be nice to have more activities to interact with peers more. Staff seem quite disorganised sometimes, communication can be poor. Some days I walk in and there is no one there, no staff in sight and no students. Not surprised no one turns up sometimes. Doesn't feel like there's a huge effort put in from staff to be honest. Maybe it's the nature of the course, but I honestly think this course could be better and have more of a community feel. read more
