I have really loved my time at USW. Met many friends on my course and though the Doctor Who Society here. It's a shame the student union bar has been limited to events only, it was quite good before. Tutors are very good, and student support staff are lovely as well read more

I graduated from the University of South Wales in July 2026, and this review reflects my own experience after living, studying and dealing with numerous university departments throughout my postgraduate studies, including the Report and Support Service, the Law Department, the Data Protection Office, the Security Office, Wellbeing, the International Advice Office, the Accommodation Office, the Students' Union, the Career Service, and the Secretary's Unit. Rather than restoring my confidence, each interaction further eroded my trust in the institution. In my opinion, the true measure of a university is not how it treats students when everything is going well, but how it responds when students raise serious concerns or when something goes wrong. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the University of South Wales to prospective students. My advice is simple: choose a university not only for its rankings or marketing, but for how it supports students when they are most vulnerable. read more

I completed my 2-year LLB at the University of South Wales, Treforest Campus. My experience was very positive. The lecturers were supportive and knowledgeable, the Career Department provided excellent guidance for future employment, and the Students' Union organized great events and activities. The campus has good facilities, including a modern library, study spaces, and a friendly learning environment. Overall, I highly recommend USW to anyone considering studying Law. read more

I study forensic science at the University of South Wales and overall had a positive experience. The lecturers were knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely wanted students to succeed. They were always willing to answer questions and provide support when needed. The course was well structured and gave me practical skills alongside academic knowledge, which helped me feel prepared for future employment. The facilities were modern and well maintained, and the library and online resources were very useful throughout my studies. Student support services were available whenever I needed them, although communication could sometimes be improved. The campus had a welcoming atmosphere, and I enjoyed meeting people from different backgrounds. Overall, I would recommend the University of South Wales to anyone looking for a supportive university with a strong focus on employability and practical learning. read more

The good: Lecturers actually know your name. Seriously—mine remembered my cat. Teaching feels personal, and the creative facilities (Cardiff campus) are insane—pro-grade studios, green screens, the works. The people are down-to-earth, not snobby. It’s a proper community. The meh: Campuses are split—Cardiff, Newport, and Pontypridd. If your course hops between them, get ready for train commutes. Accommodation in Treforest is basic (fine, but don't expect luxury). And the weather? Pack for a monsoon. It rains. Constantly. The social: SU nights are cheap, messy, and legendary. Ponty nightlife is mostly just the SU, but Cardiff is 20 mins away for proper nights out. Verdict: It's not posh or Russell Group. But you'll get solid skills, real friends, and leave actually job-ready. Would I do it again? Yeah. With better wellies. read more
