I'm currently studying Criminology at the University of Westminster, and so far, it’s been a really engaging and eye-opening experience. The course covers a wide range of topics — from policing and criminal justice to social inequality and human rights — which keeps it interesting and relevant to the real world. The lecturers are knowledgeable and passionate about their fields, and many of them bring real-life experience into their teaching, which helps bridge the gap between theory and practice. I’ve especially appreciated the discussions in seminars where we get to challenge ideas and think critically about crime and society. Being based in London also adds to the experience — we’re close to major institutions like courts, law firms, and NGOs, and sometimes even get opportunities to attend events or talks outside of uni. The uni itself is diverse and supportive, and I’ve met people from all kinds of backgrounds, which adds to the learning experience. read more
