The campus is really scenic and well organised - it just makes sense. I love the lake, it genuinely feels like a big garden. The library is good and there are 24-hour study spaces which is really useful. It's a safe campus, though a bit more lighting in some areas would help because it can feel a bit scary when it gets dark. There's a great range of clubs and societies to suit everyone, and the Students' Union is amazing - so many initiatives, programmes, and schemes. I'm really grateful for everything they do. And when it comes to careers, placements, programmes and events - Surrey genuinely goes above and beyond. It really does. read more

University of Surrey is a perfect choice for those looking for a high-ranking university with great academic standards. My favorite part is the location—Guildford is peaceful and safe, yet only 30 minutes from London by train. It offers the best of both worlds. In terms of value, the cost of living and accommodation is much more affordable compared to London, with plenty of options to suit your budget. The campus is very international and diverse, which makes for a great cultural experience. With a wide range of courses available, I highly recommend Surrey to anyone! read more

The WiFi on campus sometimes won’t work in lecture theatres which is a struggle. Societies are not funded at all by the university so it makes event planning a struggle. read more

I'm studying a MSc in Air Transport Management, and came to this university expecting a top class education that would increase employability. But what I've witnessed is perpetual mediocrity and decline. The course and university has been very disorganized, with everything seemingly running in a very ad hoc manner. Communication is nearly nonexistent, with inconsistencies in areas like graduation timelines, administrative details, etc. A lot of things seem as though corners have been cut in the name of expediency, with one eye being on how to cut costs as much as possible. A case in point is poor internet connectivity, inadequate maintenance, short-staffed facilities, and little to no help with career services. The intake of students has also resulted in the quality of education declining, particularly with international students who are admitted but never put enough effort and time for their studies. Feedback on assignments is also very poor. Overall, this has been a waste of money. read more

I'm a masters student at Surrey and the experience so far has been amazing. The careers team were super helpful with sooo many resources in the appointment I had with them recently. The student union really care and work hard, and are taken seriously by the university with many opportunities to take in student feedback. There are a variety of clubs and societies on option. Ive only attended a few but they were generally well run and I think the union really supported them. I marked it slightly lower for the campus facilities, purely because while some are amazing (the library is great), there are some spaces that are a bit older/well used and need updating/fixing. No spaces are terrible but there are the odd bathrooms and study spaces that need a bit more care. My course has been great and my professors have been overall very helpful and present. I would highly recommend Surrey to other students. read more

The University of Surrey has a beautiful campus, and everything is very easily accessible. The library is back to 24-hour service, and all the books you could need are available, along with extensive online resources, which is really helpful. There are lots of support services available, but how useful they actually are is something you’ll have to find out for yourself. Feedback from staff can be vague, and follow-ups aren’t always very helpful, so sometimes it’s hard to know exactly what is expected, especially if you’re studying something like literature, psychology, or other similar subjects. Overall, the experience is quite independent, which can be a positive if you’re self-motivated, but it does mean you often have to navigate things on your own read more
