Overall, my experience at the university has been positive. The Careers Service is particularly helpful and goes above and beyond to support students with their future career opportunities, postgraduate studies and placements. The Wi-Fi connection is also reliable, making it easy to study and access online resources across the campus. As an international student, I have had a very positive experience at the University of Sunderland. The university provides a warm welcome and well-organised induction sessions, along with social gatherings such as the Friendship Party, which help international students settle in, meet new people, and build friendships. The university is well equipped with modern technology and excellent IT facilities. One of the most helpful benefits is that students can borrow laptops from the library free of charge, which is especially useful for those who do not have their own devices. The university also provides free transport within Sunderland city, making it easier for students to travel to campus. Great campus. Wifi is very strong for studying and lectures. Great location for public transport. However for students that drive it is £6 for the whole day, used to be £1.40. £6 is a lot when you factor in students coming from different places, e.g. through the tyne tunnel. Pretty extortionate. read more

Elizabeth in Sunderland, finally!! I will not even tell you about the culture shock this Maasai'Gal aka CirryGal4rmTheVillage experienced! Thats a story for another day! I’m here to talk about my experience during Induction Week, specifically my very first Student Fair Day So, imagine me queuing for more than 2 hours, expecting performance/music, a buffet, cakes and all sorts of goodies, all set and waiting for us. Only to find something TOTALLY different from what I had imagined! Weeuh!! I had NEVER attended a fair before, and honestly, it was such an amazing experience! This Gal is actually learning, unlearning and relearning and I believe school life still has more surprises for this Maa'gal from the village!
