My experience at the University of Staffordshire has been extremely disappointing. I learned that things many students take for granted—such as reliable heating, internet access, and adequate university support—were often lacking. Throughout my studies, a number of issues negatively affected both my student experience and academic performance. Poor IT services, limited support from the Students' Union, and a very poor social environment all contributed to a difficult experience. I believe these problems impacted my learning and, ultimately, my grades. During my degree, more than half of my modules were cancelled, my placement year was cancelled, and there appeared to be little investment in enhancing the student learning experience. Whenever I raised complaints or concerns, they were largely ignored or dismissed by the university. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend considering other universities before choosing to study here. read more

My first year studying Esports at Staffordshire University has been a really enjoyable and interesting experience. The course covers a wide range of topics, including esports business, event production, marketing, streaming, and the gaming industry as a whole, which makes it feel modern and relevant. The lecturers are supportive and clearly passionate about esports, and they encourage students to get involved in practical work rather than only focusing on theory. I especially enjoyed the hands-on projects and opportunities to work with other students during events and productions. The university facilities are also impressive, with dedicated esports spaces, gaming equipment, and good study areas. The course gives students the chance to build teamwork, communication, and technical skills that are useful both inside and outside the gaming industry. One of the best parts of first year was meeting people with similar interests and becoming part of a friendly community. read more
